Development of Battle Space Model Based on Combined Discrete Event and Discrete Time Simulation Model Architecture for Underwater Warfare Simulation (수중운동체 교전 시뮬레이션을 위한 이산 사건 및 이산 시간 혼합형 시뮬레이션 모델 구조 기반의 전투 공간 모델 개발)

  • This paper presents the battle space model, which is capable of propagating various types of emissions from platforms in underwater warfare simulation, predicting interesting encounters between pairs of platforms, and managing environmental information. The battle space model has four components: the logger, spatial encounter predictor (SEP), propagator, and geographic information system (GIS) models. The logger model stores brief data on all the platforms in the simulation, and the GIS model stores and updates environmental factors such as temperature and current speed. The SEP model infers an encounter among the platforms in the simulation, and progresses the simulation to the time when this encounter will happen. The propagator model receives various emissions from platforms and propagates these to other "within-range" platforms by considering the propagation losses and delays. The battle space model is based on the discrete event system specification (DEVS) and the discrete time system specification (DTSS) formalisms. To verify the battle space model, simple underwater warfare between a battleship and a submarine was simulated. The simulation results with the model were the same as the simulation results without the model.

  • 궤도차량 운동의 실시간 시뮬레이션을 위해서 실시간 시간제약 조건을 만족하기 위한 모델링을 시도하였다. 단위 블록 열차로 연결된 전체 차체를 질점으로 가정하여 모델을 단순화함으로써 차량 설계 시 사용되는 궤도 차량 모델보다 실시간성을 향상시키고자 하였다. 당 모델에서 궤도차량의 운동은 트랙의 형상에 구속되는데, 차량의 운동 궤적은 궤도의 형상에 의해 결정된다. 단, 매 단위 시간마다에서 궤도 차량의 위치는 뉴턴의 제2법칙으로 결정된다. 본 모델링은 몇 개의 단위 트랙을 설정하여 이들의 조합으로 전체트랙을 설계할 수 있도록 사용자가 임의로 설계한 전체트랙에서 바로 실시간으로 시뮬레이션할 수 있는 특징을 갖는다. 당 궤도차량 운동 모델은 전동차, 철도, 롤러코스터의 궤도 설계 등에 사용될 수 있으며, 주 용도는 롤러코스터 게임 시뮬레이터에서 동 특성을 비교적 엄밀하게 시뮬레이션 하는데 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 거품 입자를 활용하여 시뮬레이션 장면에 맞는 소리를 효율적으로 합성할 수 있는 기법을 제안한다. 물리 기반 시뮬레이션 환경에서 소리를 표현하는 대표적인 방법은 생성과 합성이다. 사운드 생성의 경우 시뮬레이션 장면마다 물리 기반 접근법을 사용하여 소리를 생성할 수 있는데 계산 시간과 재질 표현의 어려움으로 다양한 시뮬레이션 장면에 대한 소리를 만들어 내기에는 쉽지 않다. 사운드 합성의 경우 소리 데이터를 미리 구축해야 하는 사전 준비가 필요하지만, 한 번 구축하면 비슷한 장면에서는 같은 소리 데이터를 활용할 수 있는 점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 거품 시뮬레이션의 소리 합성을 위해 소리 데이터를 구축하고 거품 입자의 효율적인 군집화를 통해 계산 시간을 줄이면서 소리의 사실감은 개선할 수 있는 사운드 합성 기법을 제안한다.

Application of Control Variable with Routing Probability to Queueing Network Simulation (대기행렬 네트워크 시뮬레이션에서 분지확률 통제변수의 응용)

  • This research discusses the application of the control variables to achieve a more precise estimation for the target response in queueing network simulation. The efficiency of control variable method in estimating the response depends upon how we choose a set of control variables strongly correlated with the response and how we construct a function of selected control variables. For a class of queuing network simulations, the random variables that drive the simulation are basically the service-time and routing probability random variables. Most of applications of control variable method focus on utilization of the service time random variables for constructing a controlled estimator. This research attempts to suggest a controlled estimator which uses these two kinds of random variables and explore the efficiency of these estimators in estimating the reponses for computer network system. Simulation experiments on this model show the promising results for application of routing probability control variables. We consider the applications of the routing probability control variables to various simulation models and combined control variables using information of service time and routing probability together in constructing a control variable as future researches.

Comparative Analysis between Mathematical Models for Normal and Low advance speeds of ships on Automatic Time-Domain Simulation of Berthing Operation (선박 정박과정의 시간변위 자동 시뮬레이션을 통한 일반 및 저속 수학모델의 비교 분석)

  • In this study, the time-domain simulations have been performed for analysing the ship behaviour during berthing process with comparing the two different mathematical models for low and normal advance speed of a ship and the results have been presented. For the first step of programming, the traditional PD (Proportional Derivative) controller has been used for the control of speed and rudder and a tanker ship has been used as a simulation model. This study provides comparative results on the time-domain simulation of berthing operation of a ship for developing an effective simulation programme.

  • The life and performance of lithium battery are greatly influenced by the formation process which is essential in the process of manufacture. Charge/discharge system for the lithium battery are required for the formation process. To simulate such a system in a conventional method takes very long time and requires huge memory space to save data files. So the simulation may be impossible with a general-purpose PC. In this paper, the lithium battery is modelled to a resistor-capacitor serial circuit and the lithium battery charge/discharge system is analyzed and simulated by using state space averaging method. As a result, the simulation time is reduced dramatically and the simulation of the lithium battery charge/discharge system becomes possible on a general-purpose PC within 3 hours. Also, both the charge/discharge characteristics and the time required to charge/discharge of the lithium battery charge/discharge system can be observed. To verify the propriety of resistor-capacitor serial circuit modeling method for lithium battery and the validity of the analysis and simulation based on state space averaging, the lithium battery charge/discharge system is composed and experimentations are carried out.

Simulation Analysis for a Partial Appointment System of Outpatients in a Private Clinic (개인 병원의 부분 예약제 도입을 위한 시뮬레이션 분석 사례)

  • The waiting time of patients is an important factor related with service quality of a hospital system. An appointment system of patients is not popular, in special, in a private hospital. An appointment system is expected to diversify patients in time and to reduce patient's waiting time. Three appointment rules are suggested and analyzed to compare the waiting time of appointment and walk-in patients using simulation analysis. The results of two way ANOVA show that the time slot of 30 minutes for allocating appointment patients is better than the time slot of 60 minites in view of patient's waiting time. The results of the appointment level 1 also show that the constant pattern rule and the zigzag pattern rule give shorter waiting time for walk-in patient and for appointment patient, respectively.

  • Tower crane hoisting plan is one of the key element for the success of entire High-Rise Building construction. Hoisting time is the basic factor to appropriate hoisting plan which need to the hoisting load estimate and tower crane selection. With this reason, accurate hoisting time is needed to the proper hoisting plan. The current hoisting time estimation for High-Rise Building focus on the hoisting cycle time estimation with historical data. However, this method underestimated the external influences like environmental factor. Thus, this paper aims to develop the hoisting time estimation model with discrete event simulation which include the wind influences with certain height. According to the simulation result, the hoisting time which applied wind influence is increasing with height growth. Because of the high speed wind, the upper area of building has more operation delay time than the mechanical operation time. Seoul, the research area, has the most fastest wind speed on April and the least on October. Due to these differences of wind speed, the hoisting time is estimated with significant differences between April and October. This hosting time estimation model would be used for estimating the influence of wind. Moreover, this could apply to make the realistic hoisting plan.

분산 환경하에서의 Web-Based Simulation에 관한 연구

  • 기존 시뮬레이션 환경에서 개발한 모델들은 재사용을 하는 데 많은 어려움이 있다. 또한 시스템이 대형화되고 시뮬레이션 결과를 실시간으로 얻어내야 하는 경우에 기존의 순차적 시뮬레이션 방법을 적용하면 시간이 많이 소요되므로 새로운 시뮬레이션 수행 방법이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 제약을 해결하고자 Internet상에서 시뮬레이션이 가능한 Web-Based Simulation 환경을 설계하고 구현하였다. 본 연구는 자바의 분산 객체 모델인 RMI(Remote Method Invocation)를 웹 기술과 통합하고, 대규모 개발 및 많은 유지비를 요구하는 시뮬레이션의 개발에 이용할 수 있는 새로운 분산 환경하에서의 Web-Based Simulation 구조를 제시하고 구현해 본다.

  • 최근에 계산금융 분야에서 복잡한 수식을 이용한 연산이 증가하고 있다. 그리고 계산금융 분야에서 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션은 대표적인 계산방법 중에 하나이다. 그러나 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션은 많은 반복연산을 수행하므로 연산시간이 오래 걸리는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션과 스프레드시트를 병렬로 처리하였다. 또한 실험을 통하여 병렬 스프레드시트의 계산 노드가 증가함에 따라 파생상품의 계산 시간이 단축되는 것을 보였다.
