A Solution for Random Time-dely in Teleoperation via Internet using QoS (QoS를 이용한 인터넷 원격제어의 임의 시간지연 해결 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a solution for random time-delay in teleoperation via internet using QoS, and show the experimental results of our proposed method. By ensuring a constant bandwidth required for the specific telecontrolled system, we change irregular random time-delay to a predictable time-delay, and so we can control the system with the time-delay shorter than the specified time-delay. Through the experimental results, we show the effectiveness of our proposed method.

  • In networked control systems, time-varying delay of the transmitting signal is inevitable. If the transmission delay is longer than the fixed sampling time, the system will be unstable. To solve this problem, this paper proposes the method to predict the delay using logic-based fuzzy neural networks, and the predicted time delay will be used as a sampling time in the networked control systems. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, the delay data collected from the real system are used to train and test the logic-based fuzzy neural networks.

  • Uncertain time delay happens when the process reads the sensor data and sends the control input to the plant located at a remote site in distributed control system. As in the case of data network using TCP/IP, VDN that integrates both device network and data network has uncertain time delay. Uncertain time delay can cause degradation in performance and stability of distributed control system based on VDN. This paper first investigates the transmission characteristic of VDN and suggests a control scheme based on the Smith's predictor to minimize the effect of uncertain varying time delay. The validity of the proposed control scheme is demonstrated with real-time velocity control of DC servo motor located in remote site.

Synchronized Transmission for Real-Time Remote Control in the Wireless Network (무선 네트워크에서 실시간 원격제어를 위한 동기화 전송)

  • Nowadays, there are significant interests in real-time remote control using wireless networks. In implementing real-time remote control, one important factor is delay performance of real-time control message. Especially, the technique to reduce jitter of delay is necessary in transmitting periodically real-time control message. In this paper, we proposed synchronized transmission to reduce jitter of delay, when real-time control message was transmitted through wireless networks. The proposed transmission kept synchronization between source node and wireless transmitter and controlled transmission instance to transmit real-tie control message with fixed delay in wireless networks. According to results of experiment in military unmanned vehicle system, the proposed transmission reduced jitter of delay as 32% as that of a non-employing case.

Performance Analysis of ATM Switch with Priority Control Mechanisms (우선순위제어기능을 가진 ATM스위치의 성능 분석)

  • In this work, the performance of both delay sensitive traffics and loss sensitive traffics of the output buffered ATM switch with priority control mechanisms has been evaluated. We choose the partial buffer sharing mechanism as the loss priority control mechanism and the HOL(Head Of Line) priority control mechanism as the time priority control mechanism. We model loss sensitive traffics with Poisson process and delay sensitive traffics with MMPP. With loss priority control, it is confirmed that loss probability of loss sensitive traffice decreases when the loss priority control mechanism is chosen. With time priority control, it has also been confirmed that mean cell delay of delay sensitive traffics decreases when the HOL priority control mechanism is used. From this analysis, It has been confirmed that the requirements of QOS for both loss sensitive and delay sensitive traffics can be satisfied in the ATM switch by combining both the loss priority control mechanism and the HOL priority control mechanism.

  • 본 논문은 뉴트럴 퍼지 시스템의 안정도 분석 및 제어기 설계에 대해서 논의한다. 네트워크 상에서 발생하는 뉴트럴 타입 시간 지연을 모델링하며, 전체 뉴트럴 퍼지 시스템은 뉴트럴 타입 시간 지연을 가지는 비선형 시스템이 된다. 뉴트럴 퍼지 시스템을 타카기-수게노 (Takagi-Sugeno) 퍼지 시스템으로 모델링한다. 제안하는 퍼지 제어기를 모델링하는 뉴트럴 퍼지 시스템과 같은 멤버쉽 함수를 가지게 설계한다. 전체 폐루프 시스템의 안정도를 시간 지연 간격에 종속적이게 분석하고, 뉴트럴 퍼지 시스템을 안정화 시키는 퍼지 제어기 설계를 위한 충분 조건을 유도한다. 제안된 필요 충분 조건을 선형 행렬 부등식의 형태로 나타내고, 해를 통하여 퍼지 제어기의 이득값을 설계한다. 예제를 통하여 제안된 이론의 타당성을 확인한다.

An Auto-tuning Algorithm of PI Controller Using Time Delay Element (시간 지연 요소를 이용한 PI 제어기 자동 동조 알고리즘)

  • We propose an algorithm which can classify the system should use a PI controller, which have a weak high frequency attenuation characteristics near the critical frequency. To classify the system, we use a time delay element to calculate a gain attenuation rate near the critical frequency. The proposed algorithm also can design PI controller with the given magnitude margin and phase margin specification. The proposed algorithm uses time delay element and saturation function to identify the one point information in frequency domain. We justify the proposed algorithm via the simulation.

  • 자율운항선박(Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships, MASS)은 4수준으로 구분되는데, 현재 세계적으로 수준 2-3 사이의 원격제어 자율운항선박이 상용화를 시작할 것으로 조사되었다. 원격제어 자율운항선박은 3 주요요소(MASS, 해상위성통신, 원격제어자)로 구성되는데, 주요한 문제는 통신 손실이다. 자율운항선박의 원격제어는 해사 위성통신을 이용할 수밖에 없는데, 이러한 해사 위성통신은 통신두절, 대용량 데이터 송수신에 의한 지연 등이 문제로 대두되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 제어 데이터 송수신 과정에서 발생하는 지연시간이 충돌사고에 미치는 영향을 식별하기 위한 것으로, 우선하여 이러한 영향을 식별할 수 있는 실험방법을 고찰하고자 한다. 실험방법은 선박조종시뮬레이터를 이용할 것인데, 그 이전에 제어지연이 발생하는 메카니즘을 구현하고, 이러한 메카니즘에 의해서 정량적 및 정성적 분석이 가능한 방법론을 검토하였다. 본 연구는 자율운항선박에서 발생할 수 있는 제어지연이 항해안전에 미치는 영향의 과학적 식별과 평가에 관한 하나의 기반이될 것으로 기대된다.

  • The practical control problems for the lime-delay system is considered. The delay-free characteristics of the Smith Predictor is available only when both the process and it's model are exactly matched. So it does not used widely in practical industrial processes. In this paper, using the 2nd-order plus dead time model in place of the plant model of the Smith Predictor, the proposed controller shows the improved performance in case of the very long time delay. And the range of integral constant of the PI controller is also proposed.

  • This paper describes the synthesis of robust decentralized controllers for uncertain large-scale discrete-time systems with time-delays in subsystem interconnections. Based on the Lyapunov method, a sufficient condition for robust stability, is derived in terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI). The solutions of the LMI can be easily obtained using various efficient convex optimization techniques. A numerical example is given to illustrate the proposed method.
