  • 실제 전투와 유사한 군사 훈련을 수행하기 위해서는 훈련 공간 확보, 악천후 극복, 실 사격 훈련, 민간인 통제 등 다양한 제약이 있다. 이러한 제약을 극복하기 위해 과학화 훈련이 도입되었으며, 현대전의 양상이 대규모 전투에서 소규모 교전으로 전환되면서 가상 훈련 시스템이 주목을 받고 있다. 가상 현실에서 적을 감지하기 위해 광선투사방식이 사용되지만, 이 방법은 인간의 시각 지각능력을 넘어서기 때문에 현실적인 훈련을 시뮬레이션 하는 데 한계가 있다. 본 논문은 가상 환경 내 가상자율군(Computer Generated Forces)이 현실적인 적 시뮬레이션을 달성하기 위하여 이미지 기반의 적 검출을 적용하여, 광선투사방식에 비해 인간 시각 지각에 더 가까운 결과를 얻었다.

  • This paper focuses on three-dimensional measurement system of micro balls on micro Ball-Grid-Array(BGA) packages in-line. Most of visual inspection system still suffers from sophisticate reflection characteristics of micro balls. For accurate shape measurement of them, a specially designed visual sensor system is proposed under the sensing principle of phase shifting moire interferometry. The system consists of a pattern projection system with four projection subsystems and an imaging system. In the projection system, four subsystems have spatially different projection directions to make target objects experience the pattern illuminations with different incident directions. For the phase shifting, each grating pattern of subsystem is regularly moved by PZT actuator. To remove specular noise and shadow area of BGA balls efficiently, a compact multiple-pattern projection and imaging system is implemented and tested. Especially, a sensor fusion algorithm to integrate four information sets, acquired from multiple projections, into one is proposed with the basis of Bayesian sensor fusion theory. To see how the proposed system works, a series of experiments is performed and the results are analyzed in detail.

  • In general, the size of volume data is large since it has logical 3D structure so it takes long time to manipulate. Much work has been done to improve processing speed of volume data. In this paper, we propose a interlaced scanning volume rendering that reduce computation time by using temporal coherence with minimum loss of image quality. It renders a current frame by reusing information of previous frame. Conventional volume raycasting renders each frame by casting rays on every pixels. On the other hand, our methods divided an image into n-pixel blocks, then it casts a ray on a pixel of a block per each frames. Consequently, it generates an image by accumulating pixel values of previous n frames. The quality of rendered image of our method is better than that of simple screen space subsampling method since it uses afterimage effect of human cognitive system, and it is n-times faster that the previous one.

Historical Transformation of Types of Hand-Drawing and Their Hybridization in Landscape Architectural Design (조경 설계에서 손 드로잉 유형의 역사적 변천과 혼성화)

  • This work explores the historical transformation of manual landscape architectural drawings in terms of hybridization to uncover their inherent creative aspect. Landscape architectural drawing has duel functions; namely, scientific instrumentality and artistic imagination, which are relative, interchangeable, and transformable. These characteristics have been embodied in the forms of particular types of drawing, projections, perspective views, and diagrams, which are not so much clearly distinguishable as rather mutually complementary and hybridized. In particular, the pictorial views of plants in the forms of a perspective view or elevation were frequently hybridized to projection drawings of grounds and architectural structures, which is called planometrics. Particular drawing types have often emerged as suitable and thereby dominant forms, depending on the particular historical styles of landscape design. Sixteenth-century Italian Renaissance gardens and seventeenth-century French formal gardens were generally visualized in the form of projections. Eighteenth-century and early nineteenth-century English landscape gardens were frequently represented in a pictorial perspective view. In nineteenth-century America, different drawing techniques such as competition drawing, photography, and map overlay were specialized depending on their respective functions. Twentieth-century American modernists began to explore the diagram to deploy design strategies. In such transformation, however, the planometric, which considers both the ground plane and plant's frontal identities simultaneously and thereby is suitable to landscape design, was frequently used as a hybridization technique. In the mid-nineteenth century, a top view of plants replaced the planometric, and then, in the twentieth century, plants were no longer represented artistically, instead reduced to the forms of standardized flat symbols. The use of instrumental visualizations thereby gradually increased rather than the use of an imaginative representation for landscape architectural drawings.

Determination of Object Position Using Robot Vision (로보트 비전을 이용한 대상물체의 위치 결정에 관한 연구)

  • In robot system, the robot manipulation needs the information of task and objects to be handled in possessing a variaty of positions and orientations. In the current industrial robot system, determining position and orientation of objects under industrial environments is one of major problems. In order to pick up an object, the roblt needs the information about the position and orientation of object, and between objects and gripper. When sensing is accomplished by pinhole model camera, the mathematical relationship between object points and their images is expressed in terms of perspective, i.e., central projection. In this paper, a new approach to determine the information of the supporting points related to position and orientation of the object using the robot vision system is developed and testified in experimental setup. The result will be useful for the industrial, agricultural, and autonomous robot.

  • 본 논문에서는 대형 스크린 기반 디스플레이 환경에서 시각 커뮤니케이션 증진을 위한 비디오 아바타 생성 기법에 대하여 소개한다. 일반적으로 대형 스크린 기반 가상 환경에서는 스크린으로 투사되는 빛의 변화 때문에 정적 배경을 보장할 수 없다. 뿐만 아니라 카메라 위치 설정이 자유롭지 못하기 때문에 디스플레이 환경 내에 있는 사용자를 대상으로 비디오 아바타를 생성하기 쉽지 않다. 본 논문에서는 적외선 및 필터를 이용하여 가시광선을 차단함으로써 사용자 영역을 쉽게 정의할 수 있도록 하였고, 나란히 배치된 컬러 영상에 실루엣 마스크를 적합하여 배경이 제거된 사용자 컬러 영상을 추출할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 생성된 스테레오 비디오 아바타 영상은 투영 텍스처를 이용하여 보정된 후 가상세계에 투사되어 입체 디스플레이 된다. 제안된 기법은 일반적인 카메라를 이용하고 있으며, 간단한 조명 조건만 설정해주면 기존의 대형 스크린 기반 프로젝션 환경을 변형하지 않고도 쉽게 설치하여 사용할 수 있기 때문에 많은 활용도가 있을 것이라 기대된다.

  • Recently, Product and contents using virtual reality technique is spreading quickly. Visualization using virtual reality technique is provide a differentiated experience with existing visualization methodology by giving enhanced immersiveness to users. This paper is make a suggestion to a new methodology of stereo-scope visualization and talk about this utilization possibility. We proposed the design method of stereo-scope realization system that is composed at least two screen. through which users will feel more immersiveness and experience to virtual reality. The suggestion system of this paper will widely used in various industry such as virtual reality exhibitions, shows, games, training programs, etc.

  • Very large-area multi-projector display systems have wide applications since they provide immersible environments. The brightness of projectors in the system is different due to the design and aging of the bulbs, and optical properties of the projectors. Therefore it is imperative to match the brightness characteristics of projectors in the system. This issue has been addressed by many researchers. The state of the art solution considers characteristic of projector's brightness only. In this paper, we propose a method that takes into account brightness of projector as well as the dynamic range of the input image. We increase the dynamic range of the input image to utilize the maximum possible brightness of a projector while satisfying the spatial smoothness constraint. This achieves a seamless multi-display with dramatic brightness improvement.

  • 최근 3차원 영상의 시각 피로를 줄이고 보다 자연스럽고 현장감을 줄 수 있는 차세대 디스플레이 기술인 초다시점 3차원 디스플레이의 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 하지만 현재 주로 이용되는 다시점 기반의 3차원 디스플레이는 양안 시차만을 이용하여 3차원 영상을 구현하기 때문에, 장시간 시청시 시각 피로와 어지러움과 같은 문제점을 수반한다는 단점을 갖고 있다. 이러한 문제점의 해결 방안 중의 하나로 초다시점 디스플레이가 제안되었고, 이에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 초다시점 디스플레이는 초점 조절 요인을 제공하기 때문에 보다 자연스러운 3차원 영상을 구현하는 것이 가능하다고 알려져 있어 차세대 3차원 디스플레이로서 주목받고 있다. 최근에는 박형 디스플레이 및 투사형 디스플레이 등을 이용한 다양한 방식의 초다시점 디스플레이의 구현과 더불어 초다시점 영상의 관찰 환경에 따른 인체의 반응을 살펴보는 관련 연구의 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 본 고에서는 최근 진행되고 있는 초다시점 디스플레이의 초점 조절 반응에 대한 연구 동향을 살펴본다.
