The Changes of the Visual Dominance Effect due to Semantic Congruence of Visual and Auditory Information (시각과 청각 정보의 의미적 일치성에 따른 시각 우세성 효과의 변화)

  • When visual and auditory information is presented simultaneously, we perceive visual information dominantly over auditory information. This effect is called the visual dominance effect. This study was to examine the influence of semantic congruence of visual and auditory information on the visual dominance effect. The semantic congruence of visual and auditory information was manipulated. The results showed that the visual dominance effect obtained in error rates was not modulated by semantic congruence, whereas the effect in RT was. It is suggested that this modulation of the influence of semantic congruence on the visual dominance effect would be due to the task type.

  • This study examined the influence of the SOA(stimulus onset asynchrony) between visual and auditory stimuli on the integration phenomenon of audio-visual senses. Within the stimulus integration phenomenon, the redundant target effect (the faster and more accurate response to the target stimulus when the target stimulus is presented with more than two modalities) and the visual dominance effect (the faster and more accurate response to a visual stimulus compared to an auditory stimulus) were examined as we composed a visual and auditory unimodal target condition and a multimodal target condition and then observed the response time and accuracy. Consequently, despite the change between visual and auditory stimuli SOA, there was no redundant target effect present. The auditory dominance effect appeared when the SOA between the two stimuli was over 100ms. Theses results imply that the redundant target effect is continuously maintained even when the SOA between two modal stimuli is altered, and also suggests that the behavioral results of superior information processing can only be deducted when the time difference between the onset of the auditory stimuli and the visual stimuli is approximately over 100ms.

Verbalizing visual stimuli can reduce the global precedence effect (시각 자극의 언어화에 의한 전역 선행성의 역전)

  • 'Verbal overshadowing' refers to the phenomenon whereby the verbal reporting of a visual memory of a face interferes with subsequent visual recognition of that face. Schooler (2002)[1] suggested that verbalization causes a shift from a holistic/global processing orientation towards a more analytic/local processing orientation that is detrimental to face recognition. The present research investigated whether this processing shift occurs or not by assessing performance of Navon task following face recognition task, interposing verbalization between encoding stage and retrieval stage. The face recognition task showed the verbal overshadowing effect. In the Navon task, while non-verbalization group showed global precedence, verbalization group showed local precedence. This results imply that the cause of verbal overshadowing effect is a processing shift induced by verbalization.

Adaptation to Baby Schema Features and the Perception of Facial Age (인물 얼굴의 나이 판단과 아기도식 속성에 대한 순응의 잔여효과)

  • Using the adaptation aftereffect paradigm, this study investigated whether adaptation to baby schema features of the face and body could affect facial age perceptions. In Experiment 1, participants were asked to determine whether the test faces that morphed at a certain ratio of a baby face and an adult face were perceived as 'baby' or 'adult' after being adapted to either a baby or an adult face. The result of Experiment 1 showed that after being adapted to baby faces, test faces were assessed as belonging to an adult more often than when being adapted to adult faces. In the subsequent experiments, participants carried out the same facial age judgment task after being adapted to baby or adult body silhouettes (Experiment 2) or hand images (Experiment 3). The results revealed that age perceptions were biased in the direction of the adaptors (i.e., an assimilative aftereffect) after adaptation to body silhouettes (Experiment 2) but did not change after being adapted to hands (Experiment 3). The present study showed that contrastive aftereffects in the perception of facial age were induced by adaptation to the baby face but failed to determine the cross-category transfer of age adaptation from hands or body silhouettes to faces.

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of dimensions of movie clip (2D vs. 3D), viewing orders (2D ${\to}$ 3D vs. 3D ${\to}$ 2D), and gender difference on participants' subjective fatigue, recognition for the elements in the clips, and arousal level. The results can be summarized as followings. First, subjective fatigue level was higher in the 3D condition than 2D condition, but this tendency was more clear in the 2D ${\to}$ 3D condition than in the 3D ${\to}$ 2D condition. Second, correct recognition rates were significantly higher for 3D than 2D only in the 3D ${\to}$ 2D condition. In particular, male participants showed higher correct recognition rates than female participants in the 3D clip condition, whereas female participants showed higher correct recognition rates than male participants in the 2D clip condition. Third, although 3D clips tended to induce higher level of arousal, this tendency was showed only in the 2D ${\to}$ 3D condition, which implied previous exposure to 2D clip increased the arousal level in following 3D clip than vice versa.

The Relationship between Using Both Hands Keyboard Input and Hand Function Among the Lifestyles of University Student (대학생의 라이프스타일 중 양손사용 스마트폰 자판 입력과 손 기능과의 관계)

  • This study aims to provide basic data for developing hand functional training programs using a keyboard to see if there is a relationship between the smart keyboard input speed using both hands, the Dexterity of the hand and the eye-hand coordination ability. The smartphone keyboard input speed, Purdue Pegboard, Grooved Pegboard Test, and Korean-Developmental-Test of Visual Perception-Adolescent were evaluated for 40 university students Province. An independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA were conducted to identify differences in smartphone keyboard input speed, dexterity, eye-hand coordination ability and visual-motion using both hands according to the general characteristics of the subjects. Pearson correlation was also conducted to find out the relationship between hand-used smartphone keyboard input speed, hand dexterity, eye-hand coordination ability and visual-motor. As a result, the smartphone keyboard input speed using both hands showed a correlation with the dominant hand in the Purdue Pegboard Test (r=-.313, p<.05). In addition, the input speed of the smartphone keyboard is Copying(r=-.333, p<.05), Visual Motor Search(r=.455, p<.01), Visual Motor speed(r=-.453, p<.01) and Form Constancy (r=-.341, p<.05) in the item of K-DTVP-A. Therefore, it is believed that it will be helpful in the development of a treatment program using a smartphone, and it is expected that the effectiveness of a treatment program using a smartphone will be proven through additional experimental studies in the future.

  • 멸종위기종의 서식지를 효율적으로 관리하기 위해서는 해당 종의 서식 가능한 지역의 분포를 알아야 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 GIS와 퍼지집합을 이용하여 산양(Nemorhaedus caudatus)의 서식지적합성모형을 개발하여 멸종 위기종의 서식지를 관리하기 위한 정보를 제공하는 것이다. 산양의 서식지적합성모형 개발을 위한 본 연구의 주요내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 산양 서식지 이용에 관한 기존 연구를 바탕으로 산양의 잠재적 서식지 환경변수를 분류하였으며, 분석 대상지의 산양 흔적 조사를 통해 서식지 환경변수의 재분류 및 x²검정(Chi-square test)을 통한 변수들의 유용성을 파악하고, 쌍체비교를 통한 환경변수별 가중치를 계산하였다. 둘째, 기존 부울논리(boolean logic)의 단점을 보완하기 위해 현장 조사의 결과를 바탕으로 퍼지논리(fuzzy logic)에 의한 산양 서식지의 각 환경변수별 주제도를 작성하고, 주제도들의 상관관계를 분석하여 상호 관련성이 높은 변수들의 중복을 피하였다. 셋째, 환경변수별 주제도와 변수별 가중치를 바탕으로 다기준평가기법(MCE, Multi-Criteria Evaluation)을 이용하여 분석대상지의 산양 서식지적합성모형을 개발하였다. 마지막으로, 개발된 서식지적합성모형의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 분석대상지 외부 지역을 대상으로 검증을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 분석대상지의 분류정확도는 서식가능성 0.5를 기준으로 93.94%의 매우 높은 분류정확도를 나타내었으며, 검증대상지에서는 95.74%의 분류정확도를 나타내어 본 모형의 분류정확도는 일관성이 높은 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 전체 공원구역에서 서식가능성 0.5이상의 면적은 59%를 차지하였다.퇴적이 우세한 것으로 관측되었다.보체계의 구축사업의 시각이 행정정보화, 생활정보화, 산업정보화 등 다양한 분야와 결합하여 보다 큰 시너지 효과와 사용자 중심의 서비스 개선을 창출할 수 있는 기반을 제공할 것을 기대해 본다.. 이상의 결과를 종합해볼 때, ${\beta}$-glucan은 고용량일 때 직접적으로 또는 $IFN-{\gamma}$ 존재시에는 저용량에서도 복강 큰 포식세로를 활성화시킬 뿐 아니라, 탐식효율도 높임으로써 면역기능을 증진 시키는 것으로 나타났고, 그 효과는 crude ${\beta}$-glucan의 추출조건에 따라 달라지는 것을 알 수 있었다.eveloped.
