Route Map Visualization method for Mobile Handset Environment (모바일 핸드셋 환경을 위한 라우트맵 시각화 방안)

  • 본 논문은 모바일 핸드셋이라는 제한적인 디스플레이 환경과 입력환경에서 필요한 라우트맵의 시각화에 따른 문제점과 그 해결방안을 제시한 논문이다. 자동차 네비게이션 시스템에서 널리 사용되는 경로표시 방법은 일반적으로 노트북이나, PDA, 전용 디스플레이 시스템등에서 구현되어 있으나, 모바일 핸드셋과 같이 제한된 디스플레이 환경에서의 경로표시 방법은 현재까지 많은 연구가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 본 논문은 인간의 인식능력이 임의의 경로를 회전방향점(turning point)의 연속으로 인식한다는 점에 착안하여 원래의 경로가 가진 축적을 변형하여 선분과 회전방향점으로 경로를 표시하는 라인 드라이브 시스템을 모바일 환경의 경로표시 방법으로 사용하였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 시스템은 GIS의 벡터 정보를 가지고 있는 서버와 Brew 플랫폼을 지원하는 모바일 핸드셋으로 구성된다. GIS 서버는 프로토타입 정보를 추출하여 모바일 핸드셋으로 전송하고, 이러한 정보는 모바일 핸드셋의 Brew 플랫폼에서 간략화, 도식화 과정을 거쳐서 시각화된다. 본 논문은 제한된 디스플레이 환경의 경로 확대표시를 위하여 계층별 경로 시각화 방법을 사용하여 가독성을 높이고 사용상의 편리함을 추구한다.

  • 최근, 모바일 리소스를 활용한 모바일 클라우드 컴퓨팅 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 모바일 클라우드 컴퓨팅은 컴퓨팅 처리 능력 및 저장 공간 제한, 네트워크 연결 지속성, 이동성 문제가 발생하여 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스가 제한될 수 있다. 현재 이러한 모바일 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경의 문제점을 해결하기 위해 분산하여 처리하는 다양한 오프로딩 기법에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있지만 이를 위한 검증 및 시각화 시뮬레이터 연구가 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 클라우드 컴퓨팅 구축 및 작업 처리로 분산된 모바일의 리소스 클러스터링을 시각화 해주는 시뮬레이터인 MRCVS를 제안한다.

Development and Effects of Program for Enhancement of Spatial Abilities in the Units related to Geology of High School Students (고등학생들의 지질학 관련 공간 능력 향상을 위한 학습 프로그램 개발 및 적용 효과)

  • This study has developed the software to enhance the level of spatial perception of geological structure for high-school students. And it is examined the effects after applying in high school. The contents of the software are compose of the two elements (space direction, space visualizing) forming spatial concepts in the structure geology. The program was applied to the 60 high school students of 4 high schools in the Gyeonggido. And we interviewed with 4students of the study group to obtain the variation of the geology spatial concept. As a result of appling, the geology spatial concept level enhanced significantly (p < 0.05). And the result of interview for 4 students using the program showed more enhanced achievement for the students through the process of space visualizing.

A Survey on the Spatial Sense Ability of Elementary School Students -Focusing on Fourth to Sixth Graders- (초등학생들의 공간 감각 실태 조사 -4,5,6학년을 중심으로-)

  • The study aims to extract the framework of sub-factors of spatial sense, to develop test instruments based on the framework to investigate the actual spatial sense ability of fourth to sixth graders in elementary school and to analyze the results. According to the framework of sub-factors of spatial sense of the study, spatial sense has two factors of spatial visualization and spatial orientation. Spatial visualization is divided into mental rotation, mental transformation and figure-ground perception while spatial orientation is categorized into direction sense, distance sense, and location sense. Based on the framework, the test instrument for spatial sense ability was developed and the test was conducted to 430 fourth to sixth students in five elementary schools in capital areas. The following conclusions were drawn from the results obtained in the study. Firstly, the higher school year gets, the more spatial sense grows. However, spatial visualization is developed much more than spatial orientation and their order is reversed with higher graders. Secondly, the most insufficient abilities among fourth to sixth elementary school students' spatial sense were mental transformation of spatial visualization and location sense of spatial orientation. Thirdly, the reasons of differences in sub-factors of spatial sense and graders seem to be from effects of students' learning experiences of spatial sense of mathematics curriculum and the complexities of test items.

  • In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, programming education is becoming more important. However, it takes a lot of time and practice for students to acquire programming skills. In particular, students find it more difficult to learn object-oriented languages such as JAVA and C++, which are widely used in the industrial field. In this paper, we propose a visualization method of object interaction that can help to educate the concept of object-oriented programming, understand functions, and improve source code analysis and understanding. The proposed visualization method automatically changes the existing source code and visualizes the operation of the objects simultaneously with the execution of the program.

  • 한의학은 우수한 진단 능력을 보유하고 있음에도 불구하고 임상의의 직관에 머물러 있었던데 비해 서양의학은 다양한 진단 기기 개발로 인해 시장 성숙도 및 선호도에서 발전을 거듭하는 결과를 가져왔다. 본 논문에서는 한방의 직관적 진단법을 시각화, 객관화하기 위해 4진 방법 중 안면 망진 기법을 기기로 구현하기 위한 방법론을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 우선적으로 찰색에 필요한 영역을 자동으로 분할하기 위한 방법을 개발하여 질병 진단에 필요한 진단 데이터를 시각화, 정량화, 계량화하기 위한 작업을 행하고자 한다. 또한 얼굴 안면의 색상 보정을 위해 화이트 밸런스 촬영으로 이미지를 분석하고 얼굴영역을 추출하며, 이목구비와 명당 영역을 추출하여 찰색에 필요한 영역을 분할해 내고자 한다. 끝으로 실험에 의해 제안한 방법의 유용성을 입증하고자 한다.

Verification of the effectiveness of AI education for Non-majors through PJBL-based data analysis (PJBL기반 데이터 분석을 통한 비전공자의 AI 교육 효과성 검증)

  • As artificial intelligence gradually expands into jobs, iIt is necessary to nurture talents with AI literacy capabilities required for non-majors. Therefore, in this study, based on the necessity and current status of AI education, AI literacy competency improvement education was conducted for non-majors so that AI learning could be sustainable in relation to future majors. For non-majors at University D, problem-solving solutions through project-based data analysis and visualization were applied over 15 weeks, and the AI ability improvement and effectiveness of learners before and after education were analyzed and verified. As a result, it was possible to confirm a statistically significant level of positive change in the learners' data analysis and utilization ability, AI literacy ability, and AI self-efficacy. In particular, it not only improved the learners' ability to directly utilize public data to analyze and visualize it, but also improved their self-efficacy to solve problems by linking this with the use of AI.

Development of cloud-based multiplication table practice application using data visualization (데이터 시각화를 적용한 클라우드 기반 곱셈구구 연습 애플리케이션 개발)

  • The COVID-19 outbreak, which took longer than expected, caused considerable damage to students' basic academic ability in mathematics. In this paper, a multiplication table practice application that can help students improve their basic multiplication arithmetic skills has been developed based on a cloud-service. The performance of the application was improved by integrating the Flutter framework, Google Cloud, and Google Sheets. As a result of applying this application to 72 6th graders in elementary schools located in K Metropolitan City, for one week. students' spending time required for solving multiplication table problems was reduced by more than 28% compared to the initial period, while students' learning data was able to be accurately collected without errors. It is hoped that the development case conducted through the Flutter framework in this study can lead to the development of other educational learning applications.

Visualized recommender system based on Freebase (Freebase 기반의 추천 시스템 시각화)

  • In this paper, the proposed movie recommender system constructs trust network, which is similar to social network, using user's trust information that users explicitly present. Recommendation on items is performed by using relation degree between users and information of recommended item is provided by a visualization method. We discover the hidden relationships via the constructed trust network. To provide visualized recommendation information, we employ Freebase which is large knowledge base supporting information such as movie, music, and people in structured format. We provide three visualization methods as the followings: i) visualization based on movie posters with the number of movies that user required. ii) visualization on extra information such as director, actor and genre and so on when user selected a movie from recommendation list. iii) visualization based on movie posters that is recommended by neighbors who a user selects from trust network. The proposed system considers user's social relations and provides visualization which can reflect user's requirements. Using the visualization methods, user can reach right decision making on items. Furthermore, the proposed system reflects the user's opinion through recommendation visualization methods and can provide rich information to users through LOD(Linked Open Data) Cloud such as Freebase, LinkedMDB and Wikipedia and so on.

Middle school students' interpretation, construction, and application of visual representations for magnetic field due to a current (전류에 의한 자기장에 대한 중학생의 시각적 표상 해석, 구성, 적용 능력)

  • The magnetic field due to a current is one of the core concepts in electromagnetism which has been taught in secondary science education. In addition, it is a representative example of using visual representations to explain the relation between invisible physical quantities; current and magnetic field. In this study we investigated middle school students' representational competence into three components; interpretation, construction, and application of visual representations. According to the analysis, more than 75 % of the respondents interpreted the meaning of the arrows for current and magnetic field correctly. However, half of them confused the movement of electric charges with the direction of magnetic field. Over 60 % of the students constructed the magnetic field representation as circular closed curves, but many of them could not express the density of field lines properly. In application of visual representations, more than half failed to draw the direction of compass needle correctly. The scores were in order of interpretation, construction and application. There were also significant correlations among three components of representational competence. More attention and research on students' representational competence and effective use of visual representations is needed to better support science learning and teaching.
