A Sliding Mode Control for a Robot Manipulator with closed-chain Structure (폐체인 구조 로봇 머니퓰레이터의 슬라이딩모드 제어)

  • Conventional robot manipulators actuated by motors with the speed reducer such as the harmonic drive have weakness in the load capacity, since the speed reducer does not have enough strength. To improve this, a new type of robot actuator based on the four-bar-link mechanism driven by the ball screw was constructed. Also, a new type of revolute robot manipulator composed of the developed actuators was developed. But, modelling errors occur due to the off-set from the nominal model since the exact modeling of the complex inertia variation of the four-bar-link actuator is very difficult. To control the proposed robot along the prescribed trajectory, a sliding mode control algorithm was applied with compensation function for the modeling errors. To show performance of the proposed controller, a computer simulation was performed, and its results was presented.

  • This paper presents the system modeling, analysis, and controller design and implementation with a inverted pendulum system in order to test robust algorithm for sweeping machine. The balancing of an inverted pendulum by moving pendulum robot like as 'segway' along a horizontal track is a classic problem in the area of control. This paper will describe two methods to swing a pendulum attached to a cart from an initial downwards position to an upright position and maintain that state. The results of real experiment show that the proposed control system has superior performance for following a reference command at certain initial conditions.

  • To stabilize a satellite, a spin stabilization method is used for attitude control. The spin stabilization uses the centrifugal force of a pendulum damper which is tilted long boom, to stabilize the unstable satellite. In this paper, an inverted pendulum system is implemented which is similar to the spin stabilization method. Study on the velocity of the rotation axis and the inverted pendulum's angle stability is shown. We designed a controller using a 32bit TMS320C31 DSP for the CPU and also performances by PLD control and Sliding Mode Control is compared.

  • This paper presents steering controller for unintended lane departure avoidance under crosswind using vehicle lateral disturbance estimation. Vehicles exposed to crosswind are more likely to deviate from lane, which can lead to accidents. To prevent this, a lateral disturbance estimator and steering controller for compensating disturbance have been proposed. The disturbance affecting lateral motion of the vehicle is estimated using Kalman filter, which is on the basis of the 2-DOF bicycle model and Electric Power Steering (EPS) module. A sliding mode controller is designed to avoid unintended the lane departure using the estimated disturbance. The controller is based on the 2-DOF bicycle model and the vision-based error dynamic model. A torque controller is used to provide appropriate assist torque to driver. The performance of proposed estimator and controller is evaluated via computer simulation using Matlab/Simulink.

  • 레일형 GB-SAR의 단점을 극복하고자 차량에 원형레일을 탑재하여 신속한 기동을 확보하고 합성구경의 길이를 늘리며 영상영역을 확장한 ArcSAR를 세계 최초로 설계하고 시작품을 제작하였다. ArcSAR의 핵심기술이라고 할 수 있는 원형레일은 알루미늄 프로파일로 제작한 회전디스크, 곡선가이드, 리니어 가이드로 구성되며, 서보모터를 이용하여 구동된다. 회전디스크의 지름은 2.1 m 이며, 회전 디스크 위에 장착된 곡선 가이드를 따라 안테나가 탑재된 리니어 가이드가 이동하며 정밀한 원형 운행을 하게 된다. 리니어 가이드는 슬라이드식으로 제작되어 최대 3 m 까지 확장이 가능하여 스폿 모드 측정시 6 m 길이의 레일에서의 자료 획득과 유사한 결과를 얻게 된다. SAR 측정 장비는 회전디스크 위에 장착되어 전원을 제외한 별도의 슬립링을 사용을 자제하였다. 레일의 구동과 자료의 획득은 LabVIEW 기반의 통합 제어측정 소프트웨어를 통해 구현하였으며, 실내 실험 및 현장적용 실험을 통해 가능성을 확인하였다.

A Study on the Variable Structure Adaptive Control Systems for a Nuclear Reactor (가변구조 적응제어이론에 의한 원자로부하추종 출력제어에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes a new method for the design of variable structure model-following control systems(VSMFC). This design concept is developed using the theory of variable structure systems (VSS) and slide mode. The new results are presented on the sliding control methodology to achieve accurate tracking for a class of nonlinear, multi-input multi-output(MIMO), time varying systems in the presence of parameter variations. The design requires little computational effort. The dynamic response is insensitive to parameter variations. The feasibility and the advantages of the method are illustrated by applying it to a 1000 MWe boiling water reactor(BWR). The control is studied in the range of 85%∼90% of rated power for load-following control. A set of 12 nonlinear differential equations is used to simulate the total plant. A 6-th order linear model has been developed from these equations at 85% of rated power. The obtained controller is shown by simulations to be able to compensate for a plant parameter variation over a wide power range.

  • Purpose: To design and fabricate the distributed auto edging machine for the development. Methods: We got the necessary data needed in design by using CAD. Based on the these data, we fabricated the trial product for the development of the distributed auto edging machine. Results: The patternless mode could be operated by receiving the eyesize data from the auto lay-outer with the RS232C transmission system and the pattern mode could be operated by setting the pattern on the left side of the machine. The distributed auto edging machine were composed with combinations of many elements; head, auto arm, pattern clamp and grinding wheels. The head part controlled the grinding of ophthalmic lens by operating the vertical and horizontal motors. The wheels part was comprised of glass mode, plastic mode, V-bevel mode and polish mode. The slide in the auto arm was equipped on the below of the patten and the slide could hold up the pattern which was rotated by fixed shaft. The pattern clamp could move the head part to the up and down or right or left way by the manual operation of optometrists. Conclusions: We could succeed in making the trial product by applying it to the development of the distributed auto edging machine which could be used as the patternless mode and pattern mode, selectively. Therefore, it was confidently expected that this product was very helpful for the optometrists to dispense the ophthalmic lens because of its cost-efficiency and convenience.
