The purpose of this study is to construct basic data for efficient technical training by investigating the difference in muscle activity during badminton technical movements involving jump motions similar to game situations. Seven male badminton players were randomly assigned to perform smash, drop, and clear techniques, and electromyograms were measured during the implementation of three technical movements. Measured EMG was calculated by RMS and one-way ANOVA was performed. The muscle activity of the smashing motion did not show any significant difference according to the site. In drop motion, activity of PM in the upper extremity muscles was lower than that of BC and ECR, and FCR activity was lower than that of EC. The activity of ECR was higher than that of PM and FCR. The activity of ES in trunk muscles was lower than that of RF and GM. RF activity of lower extremity muscles was higher than that of ES and BF. In clear motion, the activity of TC in upper extremity muscle was higher than FCR. The activity of ES in trunk muscles was lower than that of BF. RF activity of lower extremity muscles was higher than that of BF, and BF activity was lower than that of RF and GM. The activity of GM was higher than that of BF. As for muscle activity according to badminton skills, smash and drop motions were higher than clear motions in FCR, and clear motions were higher than smash and drop motions in RA. In conclusion, it is considered that muscle activity during the badminton game is different according to the characteristics of each skill, and FCR can affect the smash and drop, and RA can affect the clear motion.

This study was undertaken among students majoring in Emergency Medical Technology, to comprehend the knowledge, attitudes and preventive behaviors associated with MERS. This study further provides basic data for education related to MERS prevention. A total of 167 students were enrolled in the study. Evaluation of MERS education revealed a higher number of inexperienced subjects: 74 experienced(44.3%) vs. 93 inexperienced(55.7%). Assessing the attitude items for MERS revealed that "have to wear personal protective equipment when dealing with MERS patients" ranked highest (average, 4.54 ± 0.87), whereas "washed my hands more often than usual" ranked highest (average, 3.82 ± 1.06) in the prevention items for MERS. Analyzing the correlation between attitude towards MERS and preventive behavior revealed that "canceled or delayed meeting with friends, eating out, watching sports, shopping, etc." showed that, although negatively correlated, a greater attitude showed a higher level of prevention (r=-0.63, p<0.004). Taken together, results of this study indicate the necessity to develop an education program that improves the level of education and knowledge about MERS, and to impart this education systematically and repeatedly.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 12-week aquarobics exercise on blood lipids, atherogenic index, and liver functions in elderly women. The subjects for the study were 25 healthy elderly women volunteers, aged 65 to 80 years, composed of the aquarobics exercise group (n=13) and control group (n=12). Twice a week for 60 minutes for 12 weeks. The exercise intensity was set to RPE 11-12 for 1 week to 4 weeks, RPE 13-14 for 5 week to 8 weeks and RPE 15-16 for 9 week to 12 weeks respectively. The test data were analyzed by two-way repeated measures ANOVA, paired t-test, and independent t-test. The alpha level of .05 was set for all tests of significance. The results of the study in the aquarobics exercise group were as follows; LDL-C (p<.05), AST (p<.05) had significantly decreased, with TC (p<.01), TG (p<.05), LDL-C (p<.05), LDL-C/HDL-C (p<.05), TG/HDL-C (p<.05), AST (p<.001) significantly lower than control group. Consequently, these findings suggest that regular aquarobics exercise will be effective for preventiy the metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular health in elderly women.

The purpose of this study was to identify, analyze and address problems in the current scuba diving rescue curriculum in Korea by using the Delphi method to collect expert opinions on the topic. This expert information can form a data-based foundation for the scuba diving rescue curriculum, allowing teaching to be conducted more professionally and systematically, and allowing participants to enjoy scuba diving with greater safety and confidence. In this study, eight experts, all involved in developing the scuba rescue curriculum, were selected, and the research was conducted with informed consent from all participants and in accordance with all related ethical rules. Improvement measures were identified for scuba rescue leaders, teaching programs and training facilities. The study revealed that to improve leadership, a system to verify the leader's ability should be developed and that, in general, the ability of scuba rescue leaders should be strengthened. To improve teaching programs, each scuba organization should produce updated program manuals, prepare evaluation standards, and develop programs that employ a wide variety of training equipment. Finally, in terms of facilities, improvements should be made by constructing artificial wave devices at training centers.

Education in K university served as the subjects for this study. The following are the results of the study. 1. The variation in white blood corpuscles showed a tendency of equal ascension in both groups just after finishing physical exercise, but the subjects in the massage group showed quicker recuperation than the subjects in the non-massage. The subjects in the massage group showed a lower tendency than the subjects in the non-massage group for 30minutes after finishing physical exercise. 2. In the variation of red blood corpuscles, it was increased in the massage and non-massage group after physical exercise, but it showed a tendency to drastically decrease in the massage group after 30 minutes. 3. Hemoglobin showed a variation increasing in the massage group and non-massage group after physical exercise, but it showed a tendency of rapid decrease in the massage group after 30 minutes. 4. In the variation of hematocrit, it showed a tendency of similar increase after physical exercise in the massage and non-massage group, but the subjects in the massage group showed a higher decrease than ones in the non-massage after 30 minutes. 5. Blood platelet was increased in the subjects of the massage group after physical exercise, but it was decreased drastically after 30 minutes. 6. Ultimately, this study aimed to reflect social needs in the process of developing the Patient-Centered Doctor's Competency Framework in Korea. For this purpose, a total of 2,068 newspaper articles published from 2016 to 2020 were analyzed. Through topic modeling of these newspaper articles over the past 5 years, 18 topics were derived and divided into four categories. Focusing on the derived topics and keywords, the topics derived in specific years and the proportion of topics by year were analyzed. The results of this study make it possible to grasp the needs of society projected through the press for doctors and medicine. Due to the nature of the press, topics that frequently appeared in newspaper articles were mainly social phenomena related to requirements for doctors, particularly dealing with economic and legal aspects. In particular, it was confirmed that doctors are now required to have a wider range of competencies that go beyond their required medical knowledge and clinical skills. This study helped to establish doctor's competencies by analyzing social needs for doctors through the latest research methods, and the findings could help to establish and improve doctor's competencies through ongoing research in the future.
