Method: For this purpose, the structured survey was conducted by 394 parents of adult children with developmental disabilities. The data was analysed by AMOS 20.0 version. Results: The findings can be summarized as follows: First, the structural equation model(SEM) analysis was conducted in order to examine the various paths that parents' caregiving stress affected their life satisfaction. The model's goodness-of-fit was fine($x^2=225.20$, df=95, p=000. RMSEA=.06, TLI=.95). There were significant relationships between caregiving stress and family resilience(${\beta}=-.36$, p<.001), emotion-focused coping style(${\beta}=.47$, p<.001), life satisfaction(${\beta}=-.53$, p<.001). Second, family resilience and emotion-focused coping showed mediating effects on the relationship between caregiving stress and life satisfaction. Conclusions: The strategies for enhancing family resilience and social services for applying effective coping methods should be expanded in order to diminish the caregiving stress of parents of adult children with developmental disabilities.

Methods: This study conducted a survey targeting 2 grade - 4 grade paramedic students who had experience practice at emergency room at N University and B University located in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province. Results: 'Agreeableness' was the highest at 33.88±6.31 and 'Neuroticism' was the lowest at 27.82±7.43. Among stress coping methods, 'active coping' was higher at 3.39 than 'passive coping' at 3.21, and the subarea with the highest score was 'wishful coping'. When looking at clinical practice stress by sub-domain, 'practical training environment' was the highest at 2.96, and 'interpersonal conflict' was the lowest at 2.14. There was a negative correlation between clinical practice stress and friendliness (r=-.220, p=.014) and a positive correlation with active coping (r=.210, p=.019). The influential factors were friendliness (β=-.267) and active coping (β=.258). Conclusion: The paramedic students who participated in this study showed a high level of agreeableness among the five personality traits and used a active coping style to cope with stress. Agreeableness has been shown to lower clinical practice stress, and active coping is classified as the most appropriate coping style, so research is needed to guide people to utilize friendliness and active coping well.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between school adjustment and stress-coping styles among adolescents. Methods: This is a descriptive correlation survey using a convenience sample of 701 middle school students in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Jeonbuk, and Gangwon province, Korea. The study's questionnaire included a scale of school adjustment and a scale of stress-coping style. The data analysis, using the SPSS 19.0 program, involved frequency, the mean and standard deviation, the t-test, ANOVA, the scheffe test, and the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: Positive correlations were identified between positive stress-coping styles and the adjustment to school life of adolescents. The degree of school adjustment varied significantly according to the region, grade, attending private educational institutes after school or not, academic performance, daily study hours after school, and the hours students spend on gaming and Internet use a day. With regard to the behaviors to cope with stress, teenagers with a higher sense of life-satisfaction tended to show active coping behaviors, and female students were more likely to show positive or negative coping behaviors than mystic coping behaviors. Since adolescents' stress-coping styles showed connection with their adjustment to school, it is necessary to develop stress management programs to help middle school students adjust to school life. Conclusion: Based on the study's findings, it is important to develop programs which can help students adjust to school and learn how to cope with stress positively.
