Western designers have long been inspired by exotic and mysterious looks and feelings of non-western countries in their design works. The influence of Orientalism has been prevalent not only in fashion but also in overall aspects of Western cultures ad it dated back to the B.C period. Orientalism has been interpreted differently in different ages. Orientalism has been in effect since the strong emergence of Western powers beginning in the 13th century. There have been produced many studies to analyze the tradition of Western fashion under the framework of Orientalism, but most of them have focused on women's wear and the researches on men's wear have hardly been productive, particularly on men's skirts. This paper aims to analyze the restoration movement of men's skirt fashion in Western societies such as tin America and European countries from the standpoint of Orientalism and attempts to forecast its future. The paper shows how we can reveal the identity of the tradition of men's skirt in Western fashion by making a critical comparison between the pictures of western men's skirts and those found in the folk fashion tradition in non-western countries.

This study aims to identify the differences of body image when the stripe direction and width change of semi-tight skirt. The semi-tight skirt pattern was made using the standard size of a women in their 20s. 12 semi-tight skirt models combining 6 kinds of stripe directions and 2 kinds of stripe widths were made using CLO 3D virtual clothing system. The data was evaluated by 126 fashion design majors. The results were as follows; In accordance with the body image factor analysis of semi-tight skirt, three image factors were identified; whole body optical illusion, calf optical illusion and hip optical illusion. Among these factors, the whole body optical illusion factor is the most important factor. The body image depending on the stripe direction and width change of semi-tight skirt mostly showed the significant difference. In accordance with the analysis on the interaction effect of body image depending on the stripe direction and width change of semi-tight skirt, the whole body, calf and hip optical illusion factors showed the significance. The interaction of body image had independent influence on all factors of stripe direction and width. In particular, the interaction of stripe direction and width had the most significant influence on the whole body optical illusion.

The purpose of this study was to observe the changes of skirt length of knitted flare skirts when the seamless test garments were made which had been having full shape while being knitted and to change and amend the challenges in advance when those were knitted. For this study, I made 6 kinds of knitted test garments of wool 100% yarn with seamless knitting machine, which differed from each other by skirt angles ($90^{\circ},\;180^{\circ}$) and gauges (7G, 12G, 15G), and then I measured deflection changes of their length for 2 weeks. Findings and conclusions drawn from this study were as follows: First, the side seam line of full shape hecame somewhat longer than center. Second, 7G and $180^{\circ}$ knitted flare skirt showed the biggest length deflection changes. Third, there was no difference at rear waist deflection changes between front pattern and rear. Fourth, it was difficult to control the tensions of right and left strings as to the knitting directions.

The purpose of this study was to study visual evaluation by the variation in the location of the belt of skirt and slacks. The results were as follows: 1. The visual evaluation by variation in location of the belt of skirt and slacks were classified by 4 factor: attractive image, horizontal effect, ordinary image, vertical effect. 2. As the study investigated differences by each factor according to a belt location of a skirt and slacks, the attractive image factor showed a bigger difference than any other factors. Especially, the study evaluated that a low location of the belt exhibited a attractive image for a skirt than slacks. 3. 9cm and -3cm or -5cm displayed the slenderest and smallest look respectively for a skirt and slacks in a horizontal visual effect. -1cm, -5cm and -1cm were revealed tallest and longest look respectively for a skirt and slacks in a vertical visual effect. 4. The variation in location of the belt had more effects on a visual image than a visual effect.

The purpose of this study was to modify a Flared Skirt for women according to the somatotype of lower body. The subjects for the wear test were 3 students, who were in mean${\pm}1{\sigma}$ each somatotype. As seen in the study, it was found out that there was a difference in three dimensional shape of the lower part of the body even in the group of whom the body heights, measured by Martin's system, are alike. Due to such a difference in the three dimensional shape of the lower part of the body, it was found out to be a difference in drapability of the flare skirts. In order to have better fitness of the lower part of the body and to raise the visual effect, therefore, it is suggested that there need to develop a new model of the flare skirts considering three dimensional shape of the lower part of the body for the wearer or to take complementary measures for each body shape in case of applying traditional model.

버킷기초에 작용하는 수직하중의 일부는 내부 흙을 통해 저면으로 나머지는 스커트 외주면과 지반 사이로 전달된다. 사질토 지반에 설치된 버킷기초의 설계를 위해서는 수직 하중전이 특성을 명확하게 규명해야 하나 아직 이에 대한 연구가 수행되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 2차원 축대칭 유한요소해석을 수행하여 사질토 지반에 설치된 버킷기초의 수직하중에 대한 지반의 응답을 계산하였다. 극한 상태에서 버킷기초의 선단지지력은 얕은기초의 지지력보다 크며 주면마찰력은 말뚝의 설계식에 비하여 작은 것으로 나타났다. 선단지지력은 스커트 외주면에 작용하는 전단응력이 파괴면을 아래로 밀어내어 파괴면이 확장되기 때문에 얕은기초에 비하여 큰 것으로 분석되었다. 반면 주면마찰력은 침하가 진행되면서 버킷기초 하부의 흙이 수평방향으로 밀려 이동하면서 스커트에 작용하는 수평응력이 감소하기 때문에 작은 것으로 나타났다. 버킷기초의 극한지지력은 얕은기초의 선단지지력과 주면마찰력 설계식을 합한 값보다 큰 것으로 계산되었다. 이는 주면마찰력은 설계식보다 작지만 크기가 선단지지력에 비하여 매우 작아 지지력에 큰 영향을 미치지 않는 반면 선단지지력은 주면마찰력에 비하여 증가폭이 크기 때문이다.

본 연구의 목적은 20대 표준체형 여성을 대상으로 하여, 소재에 따른 플레어 스커트의 실제착의와 가상착의에 따른 시각적 이미지를 비교 분석하고, 시각적 이미지와 역학적 특성간의 상관관계를 분석하는 데에 있다. 본 연구는 드레이프 특성이 확연히 다른 5종류의 소재를 사용하였다. 실험에 사용되어진 플레어 스커트의 실제착의와 가상착의의 이미지는 사진으로 제공되었으며, 피설문자는 20대의 의류학 전공의 여성이었다. 자료의 분석은 SPSS Ver.12.0 프로그램을 사용하여 통계 처리하였으며, 연구 문제별로 요인분석, 일원변량분석(One way ANOVA), T 검정(t-test), 던컨테스트(Duncan test)를 실시하였다. 시각적 이미지에 대한 요인분석 결과 '드레이프성', '매력성', '신체 보정성', '부피감', '활동성' 의 총 5 가지 요인이 분석되었다. 시각적 이미지중 '부피감'의 경우 G, 무게, 두께와 같은 역학적 특성들과 밀접한 상관관계를 나타냈으며, 3차원 의복 시뮬레이션과 실제착의간의 시각적 이미지는 소재에 따라 유의한 차이점을 나타냈는데, 실크나 폴리에스터 소재와 면, 린넨, 양모소재간 이미지 차이는 소재의 무게와 두께에 따라 영향을 많이 받는 것으로 나타났다.

The secondary motion of piston greatly influences the dynamic and frictional performances of an engine. The motion is very related to the clearance, sliding velocity and skirt profile, etc. In our work, piston dynamics is analyzed with the commercial analysis software, PISDYN by Ricardo Consultant Engineers, Inc. The effects of profiles with piston pin offsets are studied regarding the secondary motion of piston and several results are compared.

기성복은 근래에 들어 유행의 흐름이 빨라짐에 따라 디자인이 더욱 다양화, 전문화되어 가는 양상을 보여 소비자들의 개인적 취향을 만족시켜 주고 있다. 그러나 의복의 맞음새는 개인의 기호에 따라 차이가 있으며, 성별, 연령, 체형, 선호하는 패션 경향 등의 영향을 받기 때문에 소비자들의 맞음새 만족도를 높이는 것은 현실적 제한을 받고 있다. 본 연구는 성인 여성을 대상으로 기성복 정장(재킷, 스커트, 바지)의 맞음새 선호 성향을 조사하여 연령대ㆍ비만도별 각각의 선호 경향의 차이를 밝히는데 목적이 있다. (중략)

사람들은 자신이 선호하는 스타일의 의복을 착용하기를 원한다. 하지만 다수의 사람들이 자신의 체형 부위별로 본인이 생각하기에 만족하지 못하는 경우가 많아 실제로는 선호하는 스타일이 아닌 자신의 체형을 커버하는 디자인의 의복을 착용하는 경우가 많다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 정장류 착용 경험이 많고 사회 활동을 많이 하는 성인 여성을 대상으로 신체인지도 및 만족도에 따른 아이템(재킷, 팬츠, 스커트)별 선호스타일과 착용스타일에 어떠한 차이점이 있는가를 살펴보고, 이러한 차이가 나타나는 요인을 분석해 보고자 한다. (중략)
