  • To evaluate the performance of a system, one-dimensional 3-neighborhood cellular automata(CA) based pseudo-random generators are widely used in many fields. Although two-dimensional CA and one-dimensional 5-neighborhood CA have been applied for more effective key sequence generation, designing symmetric one-dimensional 5-neighborhood CA corresponding to a given primitive polynomial is a very challenging problem. To solve this problem, studies on one-dimensional 5-neighborhood CA synthesis, such as synthesis method using recurrence relation of characteristic polynomials and synthesis method using Krylov matrix, were conducted. However, there was still a problem with solving nonlinear equations. To solve this problem, a symmetric one-dimensional 5-neighborhood CA synthesis method using a transition matrix of 90/150 CA and a block matrix has recently been proposed. In this paper, we detail the theoretical process of the proposed algorithm and use it to obtain symmetric one-dimensional 5-neighborhood CA corresponding to high-order primitive polynomials.

  • Lifelog data continuously collected through a wearable device may contain many outliers, so in order to improve data quality, it is necessary to find and remove outliers. In general, since the number of outliers is less than the number of normal data, a class imbalance problem occurs. To solve this imbalance problem, we propose a method that applies Variational AutoEncoder to outliers. After preprocessing the outlier data with proposed method, it is verified through a number of machine learning models(classification). As a result of verification using body weight data, it was confirmed that the performance was improved in all classification models. Based on the experimental results, when analyzing lifelog body weight data, we propose to apply the LightGBM model with the best performance after preprocessing the data using the outlier processing method proposed in this study.

  • Several problems caused by inevitable increment of airplane have been issued. The most effective solution to solve the issues is considered as establishing appropriate Air Traffic Management (ATM) that reduces aircraft's delay at an airport and intensify the airport's capacity. The purpose of this paper is to produce the optimum aircraft schedules that maximize the aircraft throughput by smooth air traffic flow near terminal area of an airport In this paper, mathematical formulations of the scheduling problem are firstly specified. Based on the mathematical modelling, an Optimization-Based Flight Scheduler that provides the optimum flight schedules for arriving aircraft is developed by introducing the Mixed Integer Linear Programming(MILP) and the Genetic Algorithms(GA). With this scheduler, we calculated the optimum schedules to compare to real schedule data from an Incheon Airport. As a result, it is validated that aircraft throughput produced by the optimum schedule is much better than that of the schedule from the Incheon airport. The optimization-based flight scheduler is expected to deal with problems due to the aircraft saturation in near future.

  • A three dimensional (3D) method of analysis is presented for determining the free vibration frequencies and mode shapes of thick, circular and annular plates with nonlinear thickness variation along the radial direction. Unlike conventional plate theories, which are mathematically two dimensional (2D), the present method is based upon the 3D dynamic equations of elasticity. Displacement components u/sub s/, u/sub z/, and u/sub θ/ in the radial, thickness, and circumferential directions, respectively, are taken to be sinusoidal in time, periodic in θ, and algebraic polynomials in the s and z directions. Potential (strain) and kinetic energies of the plates are formulated, and the Ritz method is used to solve the eigenvalue problem thus yielding upper bound values of the frequencies by minimizing the frequencies. As the degree of the polynomials is increased, frequencies converge to the exact values. Convergence to four digit exactitude is demonstrated for the first five frequencies of the plates. Numerical results we presented for completely free, annular and circular plates with uniform linear, and quadratic variations in thickness. Comparisons are also made between results obtained from the present 3D and previously published thin plate (2D) data.

  • Dynamic traffic assignment(DTA) has been a topic of substantial research during the past decade. While DTA is gradually maturing, many aspects of DTA still need improvement, especially regarding its formulation and solution algerian Recently, with its promise for In(Intelligent Transportation System) and GIS(Geographic Information System) applications, DTA have received increasing attention. This potential also implies higher requirement for DTA modeling, especially regarding its solution efficiency for real-time implementation. But DTA have many mathematical difficulties in searching process due to the complexity of spatial and temporal variables. Although many solution algorithms have been studied, conventional methods cannot iud the solution in case that objective function or constraints is not convex. In this paper, the genetic algorithm to find the solution of DTA is applied and the Merchant-Nemhauser model is used as DTA model because it has a nonconvex constraint set. To handle the nonconvex constraint set the GENOCOP III system which is a kind of the genetic algorithm is used in this study. Results for the sample network have been compared with the results of conventional method.

  • Compressive sensing is a new signal acquisition paradigm that enables sparse/compressible signal to be sampled under the Nyquist-rate. To fully benefit from its much simplified acquisition process, huge efforts have been made on improving the performance of compressive sensing recovery. However, concerning color images, compressive sensing recovery lacks in addressing image characteristics like energy distribution or human visual system. In order to overcome the problem, this paper proposes a new group-sparsity hard thresholding process by preserving some RGB-grouped coefficients important in both terms of energy and perceptual sensitivity. Moreover, a smoothed group-sparsity iterative hard thresholding algorithm for compressive sensing of color images is proposed by incorporating a frame-based filter with group-sparsity hard thresholding process. In this way, our proposed method not only pursues sparsity of image in transform domain but also pursues smoothness of image in spatial domain. Experimental results show average PSNR gains up to 2.7dB over the state-of-the-art group-sparsity smoothed recovery method.

  • A three dimensional (3-D) method of analysis is presented for determining the free vibration frequencies and mode shapes of deep, tapered rods and beams with circular cross section. Unlike conventional rod and beam theories, which are mathematically one-dimensional (1-D), the present method is based upon the 3-D dynamic equations of elasticity. Displacement components u/sup r/, u/sub θ/ and u/sub z/, in the radial, circumferential, and axial directions, respectively, are taken to be sinusoidal in time, periodic in , and algebraic polynomials in the r and z directions. Potential (strain) and kinetic energies of the rods and beams are formulated, the Ritz method is used to solve the eigenvalue problem, thus yielding upper bound values of the frequencies by minimizing the frequencies. As the degree of the polynomials is increased, frequencies converge to the exact values. Convergence to four-digit exactitude is demonstrated for the first five frequencies of the rods and beams. Novel numerical results are tabulated for nine different tapered rods and beams with linear, quadratic, and cubic variations of radial thickness in the axial direction using the 3D theory. Comparisons are also made with results for linearly tapered beams from 1-D classical Euler-Bernoulli beam theory.

Unlike conventional shell theories, which are mathematically two-dimensional (2-D), the present method is based upon the 3-D dynamic equations of elasticity. Displacement components u/sub r/, u/sub θ/, u/sub z/ in the radial, circumferential, and axial directions, respectively, we taken to be sinusoidal in time, periodic in θ, and algebraic polynomials in the r and z directions. Potential(strain) and kinetic energies of the hyperboloidal shells are formulated, and the Ritz method is used to solve the eigenvalue problem, thus yielding upper bound values of the frequencies by minimizing the frequencies. As the degree of the polynomials is increased, frequencies converge to the exact values. Convergence to four digit exactitude is demonstrated for the first five frequencies of the hyperboloidal shells of revolution. Numerical results are tabulated for eighteen configurations of completely free hyperboloidal shells of revolution having two different shell thickness ratios, three variant axis ratios, and three types of shell height ratios. Poisson's ratio (ν) is fixed at 0.3. Comparisons we made among the frequencies for these hyperboloidal shells and ones which ate cylindrical or nearly cylindrical( small meridional curvature. ) The method is applicable to thin hyperboloidal shells, as well as thick and very thick ones.
