An approach to Korean License Plate Recognition Based on Vertical, Horizontal Edge Matching (수직, 수평 성분을 이용한 한국 자동차 번호판 인식)

  • 일상 생활에서 자동차의 수가 증가함에 따라 최근 자동차 번호판을 자동으로 인식하는 시스템이 다양한 곳에서 이용되고 있다. 일례로 공항이나 아파트 단지에서 자동으로 문을 개폐해주는 시스템을 도입하고 있다. 기존에 주차권을 통한 개폐기와의 차이점 달려오던 자동차가 일정 속도만 유지하면 자동으로 번호를 인식하는 점이다. 또한 번호판을 통해 정확한 자동차에 대한 정확한 정보를 관리할 수 있다. 이러한 시스템을 위해서 자동차 번호판 영역의 정확한 추출이 필요하다. 본 논문은 자동차 번호판 영역을 RGB영역으로 인식하던 시스템에 수직, 수평 선분을 포함하여 기존에 RGB영역으로 인식하던 시스템의 단점을 보완하고 더 나은 인식시스템 구현하고 실험 하였다.

Integrated Displacement feedback Control of a Self-Levelling System (자기 수평유지 시스템을 위한 변위 적분 피드백제어 연구)

  • This paper presents a self-levelling system for a mass, which undergoes a severe acceleration, with integrated displacement feedback control. After a general description of such a system, theoretical analysis is investigated to design an active control device. That is, the self levelling system is used to reduce the 'static' deflections while isolating the 'dynamic' vibration. A computer simulation model of 45 kg with two air spring mounts is considered to predict the performance of the control system. The results showed the controller can reduce the mass's displacement to the level of 1/3-1/5. Thus the self-levelling system can be applied usefully to reduce the dispalcement of a mass which experiences a high g dynamics.

  • 수평형 에미터 스위치트 사이리스터(Lateral Emitter Switched Thyristor, LEST)의 고전압 전류 포화 특성을 위한 새로운 보호회로가 제안하였으며 성공적으로 제작 및 측정하였다. LEST의 부유(浮遊, floating) n+ 전압이 보호 MOSFET의 문턱 전압 보다 커지면 보호 회로는 LEST의 동작 모드를 regenerative 상태에서 non-regerative 상태로 전환시킨다. 일반적인 LEST의 전압 전류 포화 특성이 17 V로 제한되는 것에 비해 제안된 회로와 결합된 LEST는 200V 이상의 고전압 전류 포화 특성을 보였으며, Hard Switching Fault(HSF) 단락 회로 상황에서도 $10{\mu}s$ 이상 견디는 단락 회로 유지 능력을 보였다.

  • A delivery ship is used to handle the cargo with the crane to/from the ships. The ship is inclined in the direction of a cargo which is hung on a crane. In this case, a arc shaped rail should be in the equilibrium state to get good anti rolling performance. In this study, a device and control algorithm are developed to take accurate and quick equilibrium of the rail. The device is composed of a hinged immovable support and two screw jacks. And the control algorithm demands two controllers. One controller is designed such that the screw jack 1 and 2 follow the position reference signal generated by a tilt sensor. The other controller of two degree of freedom is designed to remove the synchronous error occurred between jack 1 and jack 2. The simulation results show that the desirable control performance is achieved.

이온빔 증착법으로 제작한 수직자기이방성[Co/Pt]${\times}$5 다층박막의 열적안정성

  • 수직자기이방성을 갖는 [Co/Pt]$\times$5 다층박막을 상온에서 이온빔 증착(ion beam deposition)법으로 제작하여 자기적 및 열적 특성을 연구하였다. 수직자기이방성 특성은 비정상 홀(Hall)-전압법으로 측정하였으며, 표면광 Kerr 효과로 확인하였다. $[Co(10{\AA}/Pt(12.5{\AA})]{\times}5$) 다층박막에서 수직자성 보자력은 400 Oe이었고 수평자성은 매우 큰 곤란축(hard-axis) 특성을 유지하였다. 진공 열처리 시 1 kOe의 균일한 자기장이 박막면 수평(시료 A)과 수직(시료 B)이 되도록 각각 인가함에 따라 열적안정성을 관찰하였다. 시료 A의 수직자성의 보자력이이 $300^{\circ}C$에서 1 KOe로 유지되어 시료 B의 열적안정성 보다 훨씬 우수하였다.

An Experimental Study on Longitudinal Shear Capacity of Composite Slab Embedded with Silence Insulator (방음재를 삽입한 합성슬래브의 수평전단성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This paper provides the results for experimental study on longitudinal shear performance for new-concept composite slabs embedded with silence insulator. Longitudinal shear capacity tests are used to predict characteristics of composite action between the concrete block, silence insulator and deckplate. A total set of 7 Push-Down specimens are tested to clarify the composite action between the concrete block, silence insulator and deckplate. Parameters in this study are the width of T-type bar, the depth of reinforced bar and the thickness of silence insulator. The results from experimental study on longitudinal shear capacity for new-concept composite slabs applied T-type bar, Reinforced bar and Silence insulator are summarized as follows. In test result, the Longitudinal Shear Capacity of the new concept specimen is 2 times excellent than basic specimen with safety. It is expected that applying the proposed composite slab detail at the actual site will provide a significant safety factor in structural aspect of the existing composite slab, and greatly contribute to the improvement capacities of resisting vibration and sound.

  • In the present study, tests for U-type steel box girder are performed to observe the effects of W-type and X-type of top lateral bracings on the bending behavior of the U-type steel box girder system. Another objective of the present study is to investigate the adequacy of the currently available design formula. For the structural tests, the test specimen with two third scale of the system constructed in the field was used. In this test, several different spacings are used for the top lateral bracings. The stresses measured from the bending tests are compared with those by the formula proposed by Helwig. An adequate type and the required number of panel for diagonal bracing was obtained.

  • This study is about a horizontal load test of buoyance anchor installed in the section where underground water level happens in the depth of 5m under the ground when the ground is excavated, because the section as a excavation section of high speed railway ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ station is near a rivers and because the section always has a reservoir of full water level on the left. Therefore, in this study we will appraise the long-term stability of the structure permanently being taken buoyance by the underground water level, through the spot test of the buoyance anchor installed in the section where underground water level happens. For that, Bar Type anchor is used, which can get enough pulling-out force by a method to resist buoyance by using friction force against the ground by high strength steel rod or steel wire. Anti-buoyance anchor is installed on the bottom slab of underground structure being taken horizontal force by the braking and accelerating of high speed train. And, It is aimed to analyze and grasp the review result of stability for the horizontal force that happens at the parking and stopping of high speed train, by executing horizontal load test for the grasping of the movements characteristic of buoyance anchor.

Lateral Resistance Behavior Analysis of Drilled Shafts in Multi-layered Soil (다층지반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 수평 지지거동분석)

  • In this research, load-transfer-function method was selected, because that is widely used in geotechnical engineering among the analysis methods to verify the behavior of load-lateral displacement. Lateral loading test of field scale was conducted, this measured data was analyzed. From the analysis, the model of load-lateral displacement was suggested. The test results were studied and compared to the commercial programs, 'LPILE', which contain the load transfer functions proposed before. By analysis of measure data of load-lateral displacement that expressed to several functions, $y=ae^{bx}$ model was the simplest and applicable to the field. In that case a value converged about 1.3, b value had a tendency to converge about 0.02. From the comparison analysis between measured data and load transfer function by 'LPILE', it is examined that if the lateral load is small, calculated displacements of them show a similar value compared to measured values. Furthermore, the bigger lateral loads, the bigger calculated values compared to the measured data. If the results are compared by Matlock-Reese method and Matlock-API method, Matlock-Reese method shows result of safe side because lateral displacement is calculated greatly relatively.

A System Realization of the 2D Barcode Electrothermal Printer for Scanner Recognition (스케너 인식에 강한 2차원 바코드 인쇄시스템의 구현)

  • The system realization of 2D barcode electrothermal printer for the adapted scanner recognition is presented. The 2D barcode leads the horizontal and vertical definition to recognize the scanner being an important part in system. The high definition electrothermal printer of 300dpi resolution used power historic control technique to vertical and horizontal coordinate is realized. The result of experiment is that the system enhances the quality of print image to require recognizing 20 barcode.
