Study of Numerical Modeling of Swirl-Premix Burner for Simulation of Gas Turbine Combustion (가스터빈 연소기의 연소장 해석을 위한 스월 예혼합 버너의 수치적 모델링에 관한 연구)

  • The flow and combustion characteristics in a premixed swirl combustor with a double cone burner are numerically analyzed to adopt a swirler model. The internal recirculation zone formed at the burner exit can be realized by a swirler with inner and outer diameters of 56 and 152 mm, respectively, and accordingly, the flow rate and radial velocity were determined. To select the tangential velocity, swirl and recirculation angles are introduced. A tangential velocity of 40 m/s produces an internal recirculation zone similar to that in a combustor. At the liner exit, the errors in temperature and velocity are 2.8% and 0%, respectively, and they are negligibly small. However, NOx emissions are underestimated by 67% in the numerical results obtained using the swirler model. Although considerable quantitative errors are induced by the swirler model, it can be useful numerical model for the EV burner because it can approximately simulate the essential flow and combustion characteristics in a premixed swirl combustor with a double cone burner and it is expected to make combustion analysis efficient in a gas turbine combustor with complex geometries.

A Study on Stable Generation of Tsunami in Hydraulic/Numerical Wave Tank (수리/수치파동수조에서 안정적인 쓰나미 조파를 위한 고찰)

  • This study considered the existing approximation theories of solitary wave for stable generation of it with different waveforms in a hydraulic/numerical wave tank for coping with the tsunami. Based on the approximation theory equations, two methods were proposed to estimate various waveforms of solitary wave. They estimate different waveforms and flow rates by applying waveform distribution factor and virtual depth factor with the original approximate expressions of solitary wave. Newly proposed estimation methods of solitary wave were applied in the wave generation of hydraulic/numerical wave tank. In the result, it was able to estimate the positional information signal of wave generator in the hydraulic wave tank and to find that the signal was very similar to an input signal of existing hydraulic model experiment. The waveform and velocity of solitary wave was applied to the numerical wave tank in order to generate wave, which enabled generate waveform of tsunami that was not reproduced with existing solitary wave approximation theory and found that the result had high conformity with existing experiment result. Therefore, it was able to validate and verify the two proposed estimation methods to generate stable tsunami in the hydraulic/numerical wave tank.

  • 공학설계에 있어서 보다 합리적인 최적설계 혹은 최적과 근사한 설계안을 얻기 위해서는 최적화모델에 표현할 수 없는 설계과정의 경험적 지식이나 의사결정과정을 지운할 수 있는 지식기반시스템이 결합되어야 할 필요가 있다. 본 글에서는 수치적인 계산결과만을 제공하는 최적화 기법의 한계와 기호처리에 중점을 두고 있는 지식기반시스탬의 한계를 극복하여, 보다 현실적인 최적 설계안을 도출할 수 있는 지식기반 최적설계시스템에 관한 연구현황과 관련기술을 살펴보았다.

  • 현재 쯔나미의 계산에 있어서 수치계산의 안정성이나, 파형의 재현을 고려하기 위한 기준 등은 제시된 바 있다. 대표적인 예로 CFL 안정조건과 같이 계산의 불안정을 방지하기 위한 기준을 비롯하여 한 파장내에 적어도 20개의 공간격자를 확보하여야 한다는 등의 기준(Shuto,1991)이 그것이다. 또한, 쯔나미의 거동특성 중 하나인 분산현상에 대해서도 Imamura 등(1988)은 수치분산의 영향을 추정하였고, 저차방정식으로부터 고차의 근사해를 구하는 등의 수법을 제안하기도 하였다. (중략)

Approximation of a Warship Passive Sonar Signal Using Taylor Expansion (테일러 전개를 이용한 함정 수동 소나 신호 근사)

  • A passive sonar of warship is composed of several directional or omni-directional sensors. In order to model the acoustic signal received into a warship sonar, the wave propagation modeling is usually required from arbitrary noise source to all sensors equipped to the sonar. However, the full calculation for all sensors is time-consuming and the performance of sonar simulator deteriorates. In this study, we suggest an asymptotic method to estimate the sonar signal arrived to sensors adjacent to the reference sensor, where it is assumed that all information of eigenrays is known. This method is developed using Taylor series for the time delay of eigenray and similar to Fraunhofer and Fresnel approximation for sonar aperture. To validate the proposed method, some numerical experiments are performed for the passive sonar. The approximation when the second-order term is kept is vastly superior. In addition, the error criterion for each approximation is provided with a practical example.

  • We suggest new 2D two-way Parabolic equation algorithm for multiple scattering. Our method is based on the successive performance of the single scattering approach. First. as the single scattering algorithm, the reflected and transmitted fields are calculated at the vertical interface of a range independent sector. Then. the reflected field is saved and the transmitted field Propagated to the next vertical interface with the split-step Pade method. After one step ends, the same Process is repeatedly performed with the change of the Propagation direction until the reflected field at the vertical interface is close to zero. Final incoming and outgoing fields are obtained as the sum of the wave fields obtained for each step. Our algorithm is relatively simple for the numerical implementation and requires less computational resources than the existing algorithm for multiple scattering

  • Exact forward modeling of acoustic propagation is crucial in MFP such as inverse problems and various other acoustic applications. As acoustic propagation in shallow water environments become important, range dependent modeling has to be considered of which PE method is considered as one of the most accurate and relatively fast. In this paper higher order numerical rode employing the PE method is developed. To approximate the depth directional operator, Galerkin's method is used with partial collocation to lessen necessary calculations. Linearization of tile depth directional operator is achieved via expansion into a multiplication form of (equation omitted) approximation. To approximate the range directional equation, Crank-Nicolson's method is used. Final1y, numerical self stater is employed. Numerical tests are performed for various occan environment scenarios. The results of these tests are compared to exact solutions, OASES and RAM results.

  • In this paper, an efficient computational algorithm for the implementation of the newly proposed node activation technique is presented, and its computational aspects are thoroughly investigated. To verify the validity, convergence, and efficiency of the node activation technique, various numerical examples are worked out including the problems of Poisson equation, 2D elasticity problems, and 3D elasticity problems. From the numerical tests, it is verified that one can arbitrarily activate and handle the nodal points of interest in finite element model with very little loss of the numerical accuracy.
