Estimated Dietary Intake of Sodium Saccharin and Acesulfame Potassium in Koreans (식품 중 사카린나트륨, 아세설팜칼륨의 섭취량에 관한 연구)

  • Mean concentration of 2 artificial sweeteners, sodium saccharin and acesulfame K, in food samples and their daily intakes were estimated. Among 755 food samples, 57 contained these artificial sweeteners. Contribution rate to total estimated daily intake (%) of artificial sweeteners in food categories were high in danmooji for sodium saccharin and ice cream for acesulfame K. Total estimated daily intakes $({\Sigma}EDI)$ for different age groups were high in 30-49 year-old group for sodium saccharin and 13-19 year-old group for acesulfame K. Total estimated daily intakes $({\Sigma}EDI)$ of men and women were 5.91 and 4.89 mg/man/day, respectively. Total estimated daily intakes $({\Sigma}EDI)$ based on mean body weight of 55 kg were 4.13 and 1.25 mg/man/day for sodium saccharin and acesulfame K, respectively. These values ranged within 0.2-1.5% of acceptable daily intake (ADI) evaluated by FAO/WHO and 1.2-13.5% of theoretical maximum daily intake (TMDI), and, therefore, judged to be safe.

  • For various geospatial information such as planimetric and topographic features, the required accuracy may be defined depending on the purpose of GIS applications. Also, the accuracy of the geospatial information have a major impact on the quality of the raw surveying data. In order to be usefully applied the precise geospatial information, the accuracy standards must be appropriately set so that the digital map as base map can be accurately made. Before computer mapping and GIS technology existed, paper maps were drawn by hand. So, the map scale was a significant contributor to the map accuracy. As such the past, the accuracy of maps is determined the scale at which the map would be drawn, but recent trends are to treat accuracy as a one of quality elements, rather than a specification for producing the map. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to set the new korean map accuracy standards appropriate for the construction and application of the precise geospatial information on behalf of the current representation of korean digital maps.

  • A Practical and easily applicable methods for the numerical analysis and the optimum design of continuous and horizontally curved two-way slab systems with twelve possible edge conditions are presented. The proposed method for the numerical structural analysis is based on the use of design moment coefficients which are derived from the elastic theory of thin curved plates. The optimum values are selected from within the feasible region in the design space defined by the limit state requirements. The sequential linear programming is introduced as an analytical method of nonlinear optimization. The optimum design variables, including a effective depth and transformed steel ratios per unit width of middle and column strips of slabs, are then determined.

  • Aerological observation at Heuksando located in south-western part of Koran Peninsula has been started at 1 June 2003. In order to clarify the improvement of meteorological prediction quality. it is necessary to compare between aerological data observed at Gawngju and Heuksando and to make clear the influence of Heuksando data assimilation. Therefore numerical simulations were carried out with High resolution meterological prediction system based on MM5(The 5th Generation Mesoscale Model). The pattern of wind and temperature field observed at Heuksando and Gwangju are different due to land surface friction End Sensible heat flux at surface and the wind field Simulated With Gwangju and Heuksando aerological data agree well with observation wind field. Although the amount of precipitation in these experiments is underestimated. the area and starting time of precipitation around Honam province in case with Heuksando data is more reliable that without the data.

  • 늘어나는 자연재해에 대응하여 새로운 보험 상품이 개발되고 있으며, 보험료 및 보험보상료의 증가에 따른 재보험율의 조정과정이 과학적 근거하에 작업이 이루어져야함에도 불구하고 2006년까지 이와 같은 재해 규모와 피해를 예측하거나 모의할 수 있는 시스템은 한국에서는 거의 드문 상황이었다. 본 과제의 목적은 남한 지역을 대상으로 하여 지진, 태풍, 해일, 풍수해 등의 주요4대 재해에 대한 정보를 지리정보와 더불어 구축하여, 민간 보험사에서 자연재해에 대응하여 계획을 세우고, 과학적인 기준 마련하는 것이다. 구축된 데이터는 국가NGIS 사업의 결과물인 1: 5,000 수치지도를 근간으로 하여 각 재해별로 참조할 수 있는 각 부처의 자료를 가공하여 격자화 하여 구축하였으며, 민간보험사에 보유하고 있는 물건의 주소를 포인트 위치로 산정하여 지역별로 검색이 가능하도록 구축하였다. K-weather 등의 기상정보서비스를 실시간으로 연결하여, 태풍 및 풍수해 발생시78개 지점의 자료가 실시간으로 입수되어 주변현황을 모의할 수 있도록 하였으며, 종합적인 피해모델의 경우는 주로 물건의 수와 총액수준으로 평가할 수 있도록 하였다. 각 재해에 대한 취약성 함수는 뮌헨 재보험사의 것을 기본으로 하였으나 상세한 변수조정은 실제 자료를 대응시키면서 최적화된 값을 선정하였다. 본 시스템 구축은 과거자료를 중심으로 한 부분과 임의의 태풍 및 강수량을 특정위치에 적용하였을 때, 보험사가 지불해야할 보험금 액수를 산정할 수 있도록 하였으며, 향후 보험 상품의 지역적 차별화에 근거자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 각 재해의 총합이 각 행정구역과 격자의 위험도로 상대적인 위험도 주제도가 생산이 됨에 따라 보다 합리적인 민간회사의 의사결정에 GIS가 사용될 수 있음을 보여주는 사례로 연구의 의의를 두겠다.

Effects of Researcher Characteristics on the Technology Transfer of Knowhow (연구자 특성이 노하우 기술이전에 미치는 영향 -대학교수의 기술이전 시장데이터를 중심으로-)

  • This study analyzed statistically the determinants that affect the royalties of knowledge technology transfer, which accounts for a considerable portion of university technology transfer. As knowledge technology transfer certainly includes a move from tacit knowledge from one side to the other side per se, the scope of knowledge technology transfer is unclear and numerical information of technology transfer, such as research fund scale, which is used widely in previous studies, cannot be used in the analysis. Therefore, this study focused on the researcher characteristics and included its explanatory variables in the present study. In addition, it included the technical characteristics of the knowledge transferred and the characteristics of the contracting company. The knowledge maturity calculated from the appointment year and contract date positively affects the technology royalties, but work experience and patent activity of the researcher are not statistically significant. Statistically significant differences in the technology royalty according to the type of technology transfer and the company location were observed, but there was no meaningful change in the technology royalty depending on the technical field and company business scale.

The Effect of Feeding TMR with Sasa quelpaertensis Nakai on the Body Weight and Blood Composition of the Horse (제주조릿대(Sasa quelpaertensis Nakai) 첨가 TMR 급여가 말의 체중 및 혈액 성상 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of feeding TMR(Total Mixed Ration) with Sasa quelpaertensis Nakai of Jeju cross-bred horses on the body weight and blood composition. Fourteen herds of Jeju cross-bred horses older than 36 months were selected as experimental animals. The experiment was conducted by dividing the herds into seven herds for feeding TMR with 20% Sasa quelpaertensis Nakai(treatment) and another seven herds for feeding TMR without Sasa quelpaertensis Nakai(control) and water were fed ad libitum. In the 12th week, the MPV(mean platelet volume) was statistically significantly higher with Sasa TMR than with control (p<0.05). However, both MPV levels are within a normal range and there were no health problems. With regard to the levels of cholesterol, there was a statistically significant difference between the 33.8±5.9 mg/㎗ with individual management and 25.4±8.2 mg/㎗ with control group (p<0.05). But It are also within a normal range and there were no health problems. In conclusion, feeding TMR with 20% Sasa quelpaertensis Nakai of Jeju cross-bred horses could be utilized as a feeding method for horse.

Management of Critical Control Points to Improve Microbiological Quality of Potentially Hazardous Foods Prepared by Restaurant Operations (외식업체에서 제공하는 잠재적 위험 식품의 미생물적 품질향상을 위한 중점관리점 관리방안)

  • The purpose of this study was to present management guidelines for critical control points by analyzing microbiological hazardous elements through screening Potentially Hazardous Foods (PHF) menus in an effort improve the microbiological quality of foods prepared by restaurant operations. Steamed spinach with seasoning left at room temperature presents a range of risk temperatures which microorganisms could flourish, and it exceeded all microbiological safety limits in our study. On the other hand, steamed spinach with seasoning stored in a refrigerator had Aerobic Plate Counts of $2.86{\pm}0.5{\log}\;CFU/g$ and all other microbiological tests showed that their levels were below the limit. The standard plate counts of raw materials of lettuce and tomato were $4.66{\pm}0.4{\log}\;CFU/g$ and $3.08{\pm}0.4{\log}\;CFU/g$, respectively. Upon washing, the standard plate counts were $3.12{\pm}0.6{\log}\;CFU/g$ and $2.10{\pm}0.3{\log}\;CFU/g$, respectively, but upon washing after chlorination, those were $2.23{\pm}0.3{\log}\;CFU/g$ and $0.72{\pm}0.7{\log}\;CFU/g$, respectively. The standard plate counts of baby greens, radicchio and leek were $6.02{\pm}0.5{\log}\;CFU/g$, $5.76{\pm}0.1{\log}\;CFU/g$ and $6.83{\pm}0.5{\log}\;CFU/g$, respectively. After 5 minutes of chlorination, the standard plate counts were $4.10{\pm}0.6{\log}\;CFU/g$, $5.14{\pm}0.1{\log}\;CFU/g$ and $5.30{\pm}0.3{\log}\;CFU/g$, respectively. After 10 minutes of chlorination treatment, the standard plate counts were $2.58{\pm}0.3{\log}\;CFU/g$, $4.27{\pm}0.6{\log}\;CFU/g$, and $4.18{\pm}0.5{\log}\;CFU/g$, respectively. The microbial levels decreased as the time of chlorination increased. This study showed that the microbiological quality of foods was improved with the proper practices of time-temperature control, sanitization control, seasoning control, and personal and surface sanitization control. It also presents management guidelines for the control of potentially hazardous foods at the critical control points in the process of restaurant operations.

Numerical Study on High Temperature CO-Shift Reactor in IGFC (고온수소 전환 반응기에 관한 수치해석적 연구)

  • In this study a numerical study was conducted to show flow, temperature and gas distributions in a high temperature CO shift reactor which was designed specially for energy saving and then evaluated with the related experiment. Mole fractions of syngas at the end of the catalyst bed were predicted with various assumed pre-exponential factors, were compared with the corresponding experimental results and $10^8$ was finally selected as the value. With the selection, a base case was examined. It was calculated that the inlet duct attached asymmetrically to the CO shift reactor affects on the distribution of the upward momentum (+z directional). In addition, CO conversion ratio is achieved up to 90% in the catalyst bed and especially it reached up to 70% at the initial part of catalyst bed.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to consider the definition, history, classification and clinical effect of balneotherapy. Methods : We researched oriental documents and recent sources of balneotherapy. Results and Conclusions : 1. Balneotherapy is medical cure method which uses physical chemistry effects of water. 2. Records of balneotherapy are seen in oriental documents such as Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經), Sinnongbonchogyeong(神農本草經), Jaebyoungwonhuron(諸病源候論), Youmoonsachin(儒門事親), Bonchogangmok(本草綱目) and Donguibogam(東醫寶鑑) etc. 3. Spa can classify eleven types according to ingredient. The types were as following. Simple thermal spirng, Common salt spring, Sodium bicarbonated spring, Sulfate spring, Radioactive spring, Acid spring, Sulfur spring, Carbon dioxide spring, Iron spring, Alum spring & Sulfate-iron spring, Bicarbonatealkaline spring. 4. Physical, chemical and environmental effect of spa therapy have effectiveness on the chronic and we akness disease more than acute disease. And balneotherapy have more effectiveness on digestive disease, pulmonary disease, metabolic disease, circulatory disease, muscle skeletal disease and dermatologic disease than any other diseases.
