This paper introduces experimental investigates of an electrical accident of the distributing cable termination with simulated a shoddy construction. We prepared two termination kites, one is built-in type, the other is heat contraction type. Also, we manufactured cable termination that have simulated defect by badness construction and investigated their insulation characteristics such as ac (35[kV], 1[min]) and impulse (95[kV], $1.2{\times}50[{\mu}s]$) withstand test. The influence of defects such as thickness decrease, the gap between stress-con of housing and semiconductor and heating time on insulating properties of the termination have been studied. The thickness decrease of an insulator decreases ac breakdown strength suddenly and the breakdown traces of the insulator that is damaged by knife displayed elliptic shape. The gap of between stress-con and semiconductor deteriorates dielectric strength of insulator seriously. In heat contraction type, the ac breakdown voltage became low when the heating time is short.
An incremental approach to predict the time dependent flexural behavior of composite girder is presented in the framework of incremental finite element method. Age dependent nature of creep, shrinkage, and maturing of elastic modulus of concrete is prescribed in the incremental tangent description of constitutive relation derived based on the first order Taylor series expansion applying to the total from of stress-strain relation. The loop phenomenon in which age dependent nature of concrete causes stress redistribution and it causes creep in turn is taken into account in the formulation through the incremental representation of constitutive relation. The developed algorithm predicts the time dependent deflections of 4.8m long two span double composite box girder subjected to shrinkage, maturing of elastic modulus, and creep initially induced by self weight. Comparison shows a good agreement between the predicted and measured results.

Because of the supply-demand problem of aggregate, recently, the construction sites using 100% crushed sand are increasing and the use of low quality aggregate such as farmland sand is increasing too. When the low quality aggregate is used, the various quality defect of concrete such as the strength reduction, the increase of shrinkage and bleeding can be occurred. Therefore, in this study, the performance improvement PC admixture was developed to minimize the quality defect of plain concrete of basement parking area, when the low quality aggregate was used at the plain concrete of basement parking area. The slump loss to elapsed time test, the compressive strength test, the bleeding test and the drying shrinkage test were carried out.

In this study, to examine the causes of cracks in continuously reinforced concrete tracks (CRCTs) and the main factors affecting cracking, a field survey on the status of cracks and crack patterns in the Gyeong-bu high speed line was conducted, and the crack patterns of CRCT due to the temperature difference between the top of the slab (TCL) and the bottom of the subbase (HSB) and the drying shrinkage of concrete were predicted by a nonlinear finite element model considering the structure of CRCT. The results of the numerical analysis show that cracks will be developed at the interface between the sleeper and the TCL, and under the sleeper due to the temperature difference and concrete shrinkage. This corresponds well to the crack locations found in the field. Also, it is found that the most significant factors are the coefficient of thermal expansion with respect to the temperature difference, and the drying shrinkage strain with respect to shrinkage. According to the results, the reinforcement ratio should be carefully determined considering the structures of CRCT because the crack spacing is not always proportional to the reinforcement ratio due to the sleepers embedded in the TCL.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of step-curing mode on polymerization shrinkage and contraction of composite resin restoration. Class I cavities were prepared on the extracted human premolars. The cavities were ailed with Filtek $Z-250^{TM}$ (hybrid resin, 3M ESPE, USA) and Filtek $flow^{TM}$ (flowable resin, 3M ESPE, USA) and cured with one of the following irradiation modes; Halogen 40sec with continuous curing, LED 10sec with continuous curing, and LED 13sec with step-curing. Contraction stress was measured with strain gauge which was connected to TML $Datalogger^{TM}$ (TDS-102, SOKKI, Japan) and resin-dentin interfaces were observed by scanning electron microscope. The results of present study can be summarized as follows : 1. Composite resin restoration showed transient expansion just after irradiation of curing light. Contraction stress was increased rapidly at the early phase of polymerization and reduced slowly as time elapsed (P<0.05) 2. $Filtek\;flow^{TM}$ showed lower contraction stress than Filtek $Z-250^{TM}$ regardless of curing modes. 3. LED step-curing mode showed lowest contraction stress in Filtek $Z-250^{TM}$ compared with other curing modes(P<0.05). 4. LED step-curing mode showed lowest contraction stress in $Filtek\;flow^{TM}$ compared with other curing modes(P<0.05), but difference in contraction stress was not so greate as in $Filtek\;Z-250^{TM}$. 5. Polymerization of composite resin by LED light with step-curing mode and halogen light with continuous ode resulted in better marginal sealing than LED light with continuous mode.
The sinus distal to the prosthetic heart valve influences the valve closure behavior and velocity field near the valve, therefore affects the hydrodynamic performance of the prosthetic heart valve. In order to study the effects of valve distal geometry on the hydrodynamic performance of the prosthetic valves, mechanical bileaflet valve(SJMV), monoleaflet polymer valve(MLPV) and trileaflet polymer valve(FTPV) are inserted in the test sections which have the straight and the sinus shape distal to the valve. Leakage volumes and systolic mean pressure drops are measured in the pulsatile mock circulation flow loop. Leakage volumes are slightly less and systolic mean pressure drops are higher in the sinus test section comparing to those in the straight test section, but the differences are statistically insignificant. Flow waveforms are analyzed in order to predict the valve closure behavior. The distal sinus does not affect the closure of the MLPV, but early valve closure of SJMV is observed in the sinus test section. This effect is more significant in FTPV, and the reverse flow peak of FTPV is reduced in the sinus test section. Therefore the sinus distal to the valve can reduce the reverse flow jet caused by sudden valve closure.
Purpose: Using rest T1-201/dipyridamole stress gated Tc-99m-MIBI/ 24 hour delay T1-201 SPECT, we investigated the predictive values of the markers of the stress-rest reversibility (Rev), T1-201 rest perfusion (Rest), T1-201 24 hour redistribution (Del) and Tc-99m-MIBI gated systolic thickening (Thk) for wall motion improvement after coronary artery bypass surgery. Materials and Methods: In 39 patients (M;F= 34:5, age $58{\pm}8$), preoperative and postoperative (3 months) SPECT were compared. 24 hour delayed SPECT was done in 16 patients having perfusion defects at rest. Perfusion or wall motion was scored from 0 to 3 (0: normal to 3: defect or dyskinesia). Wall motion was abnormal in 142 segments among 585 segments of 99 artery territories which were surgically revascularized. Results: After bypass surgery, ejection fraction increased from $37.8{\pm}9.0%$ to $45.5{\pm}12.3%$ in 22 patients who had decreased ejection fraction preoperatively. Wall motion improved in 103 (72.5%) segments among 142 dysfunctional segments. Positive predictive values (PPV) of Rev, Rest, Del, and Thk were 83%, 76%, 43%, and 69% respectively. Negative predictive values (NPV) of Rev, Rest, Del, and Thk were 48%, 44%, 58%, and 21%, respectively. Rest/gated stress/delay SPECT had PPV of 74% and NPV of 46%. Though univariate logistic regression analysis revealed Rev (p=0.0008) and Rest (p=0.024) as significant predictors, stepwise multivariate test found Rev as the only good predictor (p=0.0008). Conclusion: Among independent predictors obtained by rest T1-201/ stress gated Tc-99m-MIBI/ delayed T1-201 myocardial SPECT for wall motion improvement after bypass surgery, stress-rest reversibility was the single most useful predictor.
