Consideration on correlation between normal and random incidence abrorption coefficient (수직 및 랜덤입사 흡음률의 상관관계 고찰)

  • In order to evaluate absorption coefficient, experimental works for normal and random incident absorption coefficient are made. An investigation for correlation between normal and random incident absorption was carried out by experiment and analysis. It appears that at the low frequencies, the random incident absorption is higher than the normal one, whileas at the high frequencies, the random incident absorption is decreased due to the effect of grazing incident components.

  • Comparison for various empirical models of normal incident absorption was made, along with experiments. Comparative result indicates that Voronina model which is function of fiber diameter and porosity is more suitable than the other models. An investigation for correlation between normal and random incident absorption was carried out by experiment and analysis. It appears that at the low frequencies, the random incident absorption is higher than the normal one, whileas at the high frequencies, the random incident absorption is decreased due to the effect of grazing incident components.

  • A near-normal-incidence ellipsometer (NNIE) is suggested as an optical critical dimension (OCD) measurement system that is highly sensitive to the bottom defect of a sample with high-aspect-ratio structured patterns. Incident light passes through a polarizer and a phase retarder in sequence, and the reflected light from the sample also passes through them, but in reverse order. The operating principle of this NNIE, where a single polarizer and a single phase retarder are shared by the incident and reflected light, is studied, and a method to determine the ellipsometric constants from the measured intensities at proper combinations of the azimuthal angles of polarizer and retarder is presented.

Normal Incidence Sound Absorption Characteristics of Steel Absorber (강체흡음재의 수직입사 흡음특성)

  • 유리섬유 및 폴리에스테르와 같은 섬유질 흡음재의 단점을 보완하기 위하여 다공성 알루미늄과 같은 강체 흡음재가 개발되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 스테인리스 스틸을 이용한 다공성 강체에 대하여 수직입사 흡음성능을 조사하였다. 밀도, 두께, 세부 프로파일 등에 따른 성능비교를 위하여 서로 다른 9개의 시험편의 성능을 측정하였다. 측정결과 밀도가 낮고 두께가 두꺼운 다공성 강체의 흡음성능이 다소 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 두께의 증가에 따라 중저주파수 대역의 흡음특성이 증가되었다. 배후 공기층이 형성되는 경우 중 저주파수 대역의 흡음성능이 매우 향상되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 접착제가 사용된 실험편에 배후공기층이 형성되는 경우 전주파수 대역에서 매우 평탄한 수직입사 흡음특성을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 스테인리스 스틸 다공성 강체가 방음시설물, 흡음.확산용 내장재 등으로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Intersubband absorption in strained Si(110)/SiGe multiple quantum wells (Si(110)/SiGe 다중 양자 우물에서 수직 입사광에 의한 적외선 흡수)

  • Electron intersubband absorption in Sb $\delta$-doped Si(110)/SiGe multiple quantum well structures is observed. Normally incident light can excite electrons in Si(110) quantum wells, which is not possible for Si(001) or GaAs quantum wells. The influence of Ge composition in SiGe barries is investigated. As the Ge composition in SiGe barriers increases, the absorption strength is decreased and the transition energy is increased. It is verifired by comparing the calculated and experimental results obtained at various incident and polarization angles that normally incident light and parallel incident light are absorbed in different processes.

Reflection and Transmission Characteristics of Oblique-Incidence Ultrasonic Waves at Solid-Solid Contact Interfaces (고체-고체 접촉계면에서 경사입사 초음파의 반사·투과 특성 분석)

  • In order to evaluate the characteristics of solid-solid contact interfaces, reflection or transmission techniques involving normal-incidence longitudinal waves are generally used. However, these normal-incidence techniques are of limited use in field applications such as in the inspection of welded parts. The oblique-incidence ultrasonic technique may be an alternative for overcoming these problems. However, in this technique, the mode conversion at the contact interfaces should be taken into account along with the normal and tangential interface stiffness. In this study, we have suggested a theoretical model for obliqueincidence ultrasonic waves at the contact interfaces and analyzed their reflection and transmission characteristics. Experimental results showed that the measured reflection coefficient and second harmonic wave agreed well with the suggested theoretical model. Consequently, the oblique-incidence technique can be a promising method for evaluating the characteristics of the contact interfaces.

  • 다양한 공연장 및 대공간에서의 실내음향 제어를 위해서는 실내마감재료의 흡음 및 확산성능을 제어할 수 있는 재료가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 알루미늄 새시를 이용한 흡음구조를 개발하였으며, 흡음특성을 조사하기 위하여 수직입사 흡음계수와 잔향실법 흡음계수를 측정하였다. 수직입사 흡음계수 측정결과 알루미늄 다목적 흡음재의 타공구조와 인서트에 의해 형성되는 공간이 공명형 흡음기의 역할을 하여 중.저주파수 대역의 흡음계수가 증가되는 것으로 나타났다. 잔향실법 흡음계수 측정결과 알루미늄 새시를 이용한 흡음구조의 형성에 따라 공명주파수 대역보다 낮은 중저주파수 대역의 흡음계수가 증가되는 것으로 나타났다. 공기층 증가에 따라 공명주파수 이상 대역에서의 흡음률은 증가되고 주파수 대역별 흡음계수 편차도 감소되는 것으로 나타났으며, 고주파수 대역의 흡음률 향상을 위한 방안이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

  • In this paper, reflection and RCS characteristic of the EGS(Electromagnetic Gradient Surface) due to incident angle and polarization is analyzed. Incident angle, ${\theta}_i$, is rotated from $0^{\circ}$ to $50^{\circ}$ with $10^{\circ}$ steps and perpendicular and parallel polarization of incident wave are also considered each incident angle. Reflection and RCS characteristic is not much affected by variation of polarization for normal incidence(${\theta}_i=0^{\circ}$). Reflection pattern has different characteristic due to variation of incident angle and polarization but the EGS has about 2 dB of RCS difference due to polarization in RCS characteristic.
