Adsorption characterisctics of mixed resins for perchlorate ion (혼합수지를 이용한 과염소산 이온의 흡착 특성)

  • The present research evaluates the efficiency of mixed resins between anion exchange resin and active carbon. We expected synergic effect from advantages of both adsorbents. Especially, this research focused on the removal of high cencentrated perchlorate ion from demilitarization solution. The total amount of the adsorbed perchlorate ion is increased considerably with mixed resins between mono functional anion exchange resin and granular active carbon from a single adsorbent. Results demonstated that this process not only improve the efficiency of adsorbing perchlorate, but save the time, space and cost for treating perchlotrate waste solution, because of reducing organic contaminant removing process. The interference effects from coexisting anions are not significant and can successfully applied to real demilitarization sample.

  • Mixed-bed ion exchange performance was studied experimentally with variations of cation to anion resin ratio, resin weight and temperature at ultralow sodium chloride solution concentrations of less than $1.0{\times}10^{-4}M$. Analyzing the effluent concentration histories the performance test was examined as a function of tested solution volume for a laboratory-scale continuous flow column until both the cation and anion-exchange resins were exhausted. Initial leakage was observed for both cation and anion breakthrough curves, but serious at cation breakthrough curve because of low selectivity coefficient. The slope of breakthrough curve was affected by selectivity coefficient and temperature. The slope of anion breakthrough curve was steep because of the large selectivity coefficient, and ion exchange rates increased as temperature increased. The temperature effect decreased as the total volume was increased or as the resins were exhausted.

  • The water-soluble defoamers were fabricated by the mixing polyol, modified silicon resin, silicon resin and surfactant. For the defoamers, the various properties such as phase-separation time, viscosity and defoamerability were examined. The phase-saparation time of PPG mixtures was found to be PPG 400>PPG 3,000>PPG 1000. When PPG 1000 was mixed, mixtures represented the excellent defoamerability. The phase-saparation time of silicon resin mixtures was TSF-451-350>TSF-451-200>TSF-451-50. As more of high molecular silicon resin was mixed, the resulting mixtues showed reduced defoamerability. When the TSF-451-50 was mixed, the mixture's volume was increased because of the reduction of solubility. The modified silicon resin was smoothly dispersed in water, but the compatibility with PPG was not good. The defoamerability of surfactant was SPAN 20>SPAN 60>SPAN 80. SPAN 80 showed good miscibility for the silicon resin, but not good for YAS 6406 or PPG 1000.

  • FRMLs(Fiber Reinforced Metal Laminates) is a new type of hybrid materials. FRMLs consists of high strength metal and fiber which are laminated using a structural adhesive bond(epoxy resin). The effect of resin mixture ratios on the fatigue crack propagation behavior and mechanical property of Aramid fiber reinforced aluminum composites was investigated. The epoxy, diglycidylether of bisphenol A(DGEBA) was cured with methylene dianiline(MDA) with or without accelerator(K-54). Eight kinds of resin mixture ratio were tested for the experiment ; five kinds of FRMLs(1))epoxy & curing agent) and three kinds of FRMLs(2)(epoxy & curing agent & accelerator). FRMLs(2) have a more effective characteristics on the fatigue crack propagation behavior and mechanical property than FRMLs(1)

Improvement of Particleboard Manufacturing Process and its Properties Using Powdered Tannin Adhesives (분말상 탄닌수지를 이용한 파티클보드 제조기술 및 물성개선)

  • This study was carried out to improve the properties of powdered tannin adhesive(PT) by adding liquid tannin resin(LT) to PT in the manufacture of particleboard. Mixing the LT to PT from 50% to 100% by weight did not show any difference in particleboard properties, but the higher the powdered tannin resin ratio, the lower the properties of the board. The proper ratio of PT to LT was 30:70 for the improvement of PT-particleboard, unless LT lower than 70%. Internal bonding strength was in proportional to the amount of LT. Mixing amino adhesives and PT did not show any improvements in mechanical and physical properties of the board but they only acted as scavenger for the free formaldehyde.Manufacturing particle board with the adhesive of 30:70 (PT:LT) and by using double blender resulted in high-performance products of E0 level of formaldehyde emission with high water resistance (U type; below 12%, M type; below 25%), as well as saving chip drying energy.

  • In this study, an experimental work was performed to mold tensile specimens by using the injection molding machine. Melt temperature, mold temperature and the mixed rate of recycled resin were selected as processing parameters for studing the effect of those condition on the shrinkage and weight of molded parts. As a result, the shrinkage was increased with the higher mold and melt temperature and It was more senstive to the change of mold temperature. On the other hand, the weight of molded parts was decreased with the increment of mold and melt temperature.

  • Cycloaliphatic Epoxy와 Bisphenol Epoxy를 각각 mol-wt%비 (80:20, 50:50, 20:80)로 혼합하고 Epoxy Silaned Silica, 바ed Silica, Spherical Silica, ATH(Aluminum Trihydrate)를 충진하여 내트래킹 특성 및 인장강도, 충격강도 등의 기계적 강도를 비교하였다. Cycloaliphatic 수지는 Huntsman사(社)의 CY5622, Bisphenol 수지는 Hexion사(社)E의 Epikote2200을 사용하였으며, Silaned Silica 및 Fused Silica는 Quatzwerke사(社)의 W12, FW12를 사용하였다. 전체 혼합물 중, 에폭시는 약 36%, 실리카는 약 34~540%, ATH는 약 10~30% 이다. 실험결과, ATH 함량이 높은 조성 및 Epoxy Silaned Silica를 사용한 조성과 Cycloaliphatic 혼합비율이 높은 조성이 우수한 내트래킹 특성을 보였다. 또한, Silica의 함량이 증가할수록 기계적 강도가 증가하였으며, Silaned Silica를 사용하였을 때 가장 우수한 특성을 나타내었다. 본 실험의 결과를 통해 옥외용 내트래킹 특성 규격인 IEC60587 4.5kV/6h를 만족하는 조성에 대해 가늠이 가능하였고, 각 조성에 따른 기계적 강도의 확인이 가능하였다.

  • Optimum synthesis conditions were investigated for the non-aqueous dispersion (NAD) polymerization of environmentally-friendly acrylic resin. The optimum amount of stabilizer was observed to be 20 wt% to prevent flocculation of the synthesized polymer particles. The optimum ratio of aliphatic solvents to aromatic solvents turned out to be 80 to 20 in order to obtain a stabilized NAD resins. The viscosity of NAD resins was affected not only by the reaction time but also by the amount of initiator and the impeller rpm. Also, the particle size and the size distribution were influenced by the amount of stabilizers and initiators. Since the stability of NAD resin was devastated by the increase in particle size when all the monomers were fed at the beginning of polymerization, the monomers need to be put into the reactor step by step throughout the entire polymerization process.

Mixing Characteristics of the Blends Containing Thermotropic Liquid Crystalline Polymer (열방성 액정고분자를 포함하는 고분자 혼합물의 혼련특성)

  • 열방성 액정고분자와 폴리카보네이트를 대상 수지로 하여 용융혼합기로 액정고분자 의 함량, 혼합속도 및 온도등의 변환에 따른 훈련 특성을 측정하고 고분자 혼합물의 혼련조 건과 유변학적 특성 모폴로지 사이의 관계를 조사하였다. 혼련 토크는 100rpm의 혼합속도 에서 극소값을 보이며 혼합기 내의 전단속도가 낮기 때문에 혼력에의해서는 LCP가 섬유상 으로 형성되지 못하고 구형의 입자로 존재함을 알수 있었다. 혼합물의 점도는 시험된 전단 속도 영역에서 순수한 고분자보다 현저히 낮으며 5wt%의 소량 첨가로도 5배의 점도 감소 효과를 보이고 LCP함량이 약 30wt%일 경우 점도 및 혼합에너지가 최소로 되었다. Capillary 레오미터의 실험결과 LCP/PC의 점도비가 1보다 작거나 같튼 전단장하에서 LCP 는 섬유상을 형성하였으며 높은 점도비의 경우 LCP의 변형이 어려워 구형의 입자로 존재하 였다. 또한 혼합물의 PC Tg 이동은 에스터르 교환 반응에 의한 부분적인 혼화성의 증가에 기인함을 알수 있었다.

  • The physical properties, such as the heat resistance and thermal durability of the temperature difference fatigue resistance should be excellent when preparing an epoxy type resin for a neon transformer housing. In this study, 50 wt% of $SiO_2$ and silica were selected as a reinforcement and diluent filler for epoxy type resins, respectively. Thermal conductivity and thermal stability were measured as the mixing ratio varied upon the particle sizes. The optimal amount of the mixed silica was 50 wt%. Thermal stability was improved with increasing the amount of larger silica particles. The optimal mixing ratio of differently sized silica particles was 28/3 : 14/18 : 8/10 mesh = 1 : 1 : 1. From these results, it is thought that neon transformer is producible which has excellent thermal durability.
