  • An OWC-type Wave Energy Conversion passes through 3 steps energy conversion process. This paper deal with the impulse turbine with staggered blade to improved performance by numerical analysis using commercial CFD code, FLUENT Maximum value of axial airflow velocity during exhalation is higher than that during inhalation This paper deal with special-type of Impulse Turbine so-called "Staggered Blade" for more efficiency to making air flow direct to on pressure side. Also, this paper has proposed special-type turbine with self-pitched blade more efficient.

  • Oscillating Water Column (OWC) device has been widely employed in the wave energy conversion. Wave Focusing Device (WFD) is proposed to be helpful for improving the operating performance of OWC chamber. In the present paper, a Numerical Wave Tank (NWT) using two-phase VOF model is utilized to simulate the generation and propagation of incident regular waves, water column oscillation inside the chamber. The NWT consists of the continuity equation, Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and two-phase VOF functions. The standard k- turbulence model, the finite volume method, NITA-PISO algorithm and dynamic mesh technique are employed. Effects of WFD on the operating performance of OWC chamber are investigated numerically.

  • This research is to investigated to analyze and identify factors which has been impacted area on the level of people' acceptance for disaster warning information. For better results and more reasonably generally accepted the results, the research was targeted people who need disaster warning information by the disaster impact. The damages from disaster are increasing every year. The disaster warning information have been changed by the level of people acceptance for the disaster warning information which has not been enough to satisfy the level of information. The research model has been developed by intergrating 'TAM model' to show theoretical and practical implications of this study. Research hypothesis are verified and analyzed through the SPSS and AMOS program. The main contribution of this research is to enhance effectiveness of disaster warning information to the people who can be damaged from disasters.

  • Nuclear power plant decommissioning has attracted attention according to the shutdown decision of Kori 1 which is Korea's first nuclear power plant. Nuclear power plant decommissioning is the one who never experienced ever in our country. So, its process is difficult and time-consuming. In addition, it is difficult to determine the decommissioning quantity. This study proposed the plan that can be used in quantity take-off for nuclear power plant decommissioning using BIM technology being utilized in recent construction industry. As a result, we suggested the method of BIM-based quantity take-off such as the selection decommissioning method and process, setting up of BIM modeling environment, establishment of OBS & WBS, integrated BIM modeling, the definition of quantity property. The proposed plan can be utilized usefully from when permanent stopping nuclear power plant occurs intensively. Furthermore, the overseas nuclear power plant decommissioning project order also are expected through technology securement based on this plan.

  • This study investigated the ecological change of public software industry, comparing the pre and post structure of industry network based on the application of the regulation restricting large company participation in public software market. For this purpose, we used big data of the software market from Korea Public Procurement Service and used the SNA(Social Network Analysis) methodology which is being actively used in the area of social science recently. Finally, we highlighted the contribution of open public data. By analyzing order and contract data of the public software industry for 3 years - from 2013 to 2015 - we found out two main things. First, we observed that Power Law distribution had been going on in the public software industry, regardless of the external impact of regulation. Second, despite the existence of such Power Law distribution, we also observed the ecological change of industry structure from year to year. We presented the implication of such findings and discussed the advantage of open public data as the original motivator of this study.

  • The appearance of the large distribution facility of large enterprise putting first reaches get to the various effect until change of leisure life and life pattern of the consumers from the distribution industry of the interior of a country. Competition of the distribution facility upgrade of the distribution facility and it shows the aspect which becomes the semi-department store, and construction cost is appearing different in proportion to each form or scale. Therefore, purpose of this study was to facilitate amicable construction progress between the owner and the builder through estimating the proper construction cost. This study investigated and analyzed the actual cost of 15 domestic distribution facilities and these datums were used to estimate the proper construction cost. This cost shows that from new project accomplishment through analysis of prediction construction cost for feasibility study from initial plan and design step and can be utilizable elementary data bH decision method to whether or not to propriety of distribution facilities business.

Development of Algorithms for Correcting and Mapping High-Resolution Side Scan Sonar Imagery (고해상도 사이드 스캔 소나 영상의 보정 및 매핑 알고리즘의 개발)

  • To acquire seabed information, the mosaic images of the seabed were generated using Side Scan Sonar. Short time energy function which is needed for slant range correction is proposed to get the height of Tow-Fish to the reflected acoustic amplitudes of each ping, and that leads to a mosaic image without water column. While generating mosaic image, maximum value, last value and average value are used for the measure of a pixel in the mosaic image and 3-D information was kept by using acoustic amplitudes which were heading for specific direction. As a generating method of mosaic image, low resolution mosaic image which is over 1m/pixel resolution was generated for whole survey area first, and then high resolution mosaic image which is generated under 0.1m/pixel resolution was generated for the selected area. Rocks, ripple mark, sand wave, tidal flat and artificial fish reef are found in the mosaic image.

Domestic Economic Effects of Overall Industrial Complex Construction - Based on the Induced Coefficients by Development Stage of Industrial Complex - (해외 산업단지 건설의 국내경제 파급효과 분석 - 산업단지 개발단계별 유발계수를 기준으로 -)

  • This study was aimed to derive measures for maximizing ripple effect of construction of overseas industrial complexes on domestic economy. The induced coefficients were estimated for each step of development of industrial complexes by applying the raw data of ICAK and the input-output mode. As a result, for urban service, the fraction of labor costs was high, and for civil engineering, the fraction of profit & loss was high. However, the proportion of intermediate and profit & loss was high in Architecture. Consequently, compare to the same type of overseas constructions, larger effects were seen at urban service in terms of employment, at civil engineering and architecture in terms of business, and at national economy in terms of architecture. These results suggest that in order to maximize ripple effect of construction of overseas industrial complex on domestic economy, it will be needed to seek an order strategy including not only simply sell a land and but also building factories in the industrial complex.

  • In Southern Sea of Korea, there are upwelling area where artificial seamount were built and the environment variations (temperature, salinity, nutrient and current) of before and after built seamount were observed between 2002 and 2007. In 2002, before the seamount was built, there had stratification at 20-30m. And in 2007, seamount was built, stratification of the seamount at the front and back of it were changed by 10-40 m and 20-30 m, respectively. To know the reason of this results, we used temperature and salinity using Brunt-Vaisala Frequency and horizontal current using vertical shear and relative vorticity. They showed upwelling was mainly reason that changed the ocean environment.

  • In this paper, a numerical analysis was conducted on the effect of the flow control valve of a oscillation water column(OWC) type wave power generator turbine. The OWC wave power turbine operates with compressed air in the air chamber according to the change of wave height. When the wave height changes rapidly, a flow control valve is required due to overload of the turbine and reduced efficiency. Therefore, in this paper, a flow control valve with an opening angle of 60 degrees was installed in the front of the turbine, and the pressure drop, torque, and overall performance were calculated according to the change of turbine RPM and flow rate of turbine inlet. In conclusion, the flow control valve with an opening angle of 60 degrees affects when the turbine rotates at low rotation and the inlet flow rate is large. But it does not have a significant effect on overall turbine performance and it is necessary to find the optimal angle in the future works.
