Antecedents and Consequences of Perceived Fairness of Assessment in an Online Class (비대면 수업의 성적평가에 대한 지각된 공정성의 선행요인 및 결과요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the antecedents and consequences of perceived fairness of assessment in an online class, such as Google classroom. Based on an extensive literature review, a research model and research questions were designed. We found that the perceived interactivity of contents and social presence were found to be antecedents of perceived fairness of assessment. Further, perceived fairness of assessment was found to have a substantial influence on class satisfaction and achievement.

  • 현재 인터넷은 빠르고 방대하게 확장되어지고 세분화된 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 원격교육 서비스도 인터넷을 활용해서 보다 편리하고 효율적인 교육환경을 제공하기 위한 방안이다. 사용자가 편리한 시간과 공간상에서 자신이 원하는 수업에 참여함으로써 기존의 여러 가지 제약에서 벗어난 수업의 형태를 통해 사용자 중심의 교육이 진행될 수 있는 환경은 중요한 이슈로 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷환경의 원격교육 서비스에 SIP과 Multicast 기법을 도입 적용함으로써 보다 질 높은 원격교육 서비스 제공함 목적으로 해당 시스템을 설계 하였다.

Investigation of the effect of flipped learning using printed reading materials in an elementary science class of seasonal change (초등학교 계절의 변화 수업에서 학습안내 제시물을 활용한 거꾸로 수업의 효과 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of flipped learning applied printed reading material (PRM) and getting implications for the application of flipped learning applied PRM. For the purpose of this study, we made the flipped learning programs applied printed reading material and applied them to the 6th grade science class in the elementary school. Selection of the applied test is considered the special feature of flipped learning and existing researches about the flipped learning. The PRM contains the Science words, conceptions, explanation about contents. And it was added to checking system by quiz. The results were as follows: The science class applied PRM was effective on increase in Korean elementary school students' the curiosity (in Intrinsic Goal Orientation) and attention (in Task Value) about science class content. There were no significant difference in the results of academic achievement. But the improvement of students' academic achievement in class applied PRM were bigger than that of those in class applied existing methods that follow the process of the teacher's guidebook in the same way. Students had the highest satisfaction about communication and environmental education in the class applied PRM.

Exploring Science Teacher Agency at the Age of the New Normal after the COVID-19 Pandemic: The Case of Second Year of Distance Learning Practice (코로나 뉴노멀 시대의 과학교사 행위주체성 탐색 -COVID-19에 따른 원격 수업 2년 차 실행 사례를 중심으로-)

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has changed everything, even education. Last year when distance learning was introduced, science teachers faced many challenges to overcome. However, teachers adapted quickly, and in this year, it became the 'new normal'. In this situation, teachers are likely to habitually repeat past practices, but the context of the second year of distance learning is changing constantly, and teachers are asked to interpret the problem occurring in a situation and to adjust their practice for solving the problem with their teacher agency. In this study, we explore the emergence of science teacher agency and factors shaping teacher agency in the second year of distance learning and we focus on teachers' agentic practice that did not follow their past practice without reflection. For this purpose, we mainly analyze the semi-constructed interview of three science teachers. In the first year of distance learning, two teachers maintained their practice, not much different to face-to-face learning. However, one teacher reflected upon herself and started to recognize and solve her problems. Reflection for her practice can support this process. Another teacher changed her practice due to external suggestions, but it evolved her practice to fit the situation better, and her experience of last year helped her to adapt to the change. The other teacher who modified her practice to persist her professional purpose last year was consistently practicing in the second year and collaboration and autonomy can support her. This study shows the teachers' dynamic change of agency and the emergence for the relational interaction between teacher and context.

Two Perspectives in Developing a Visualization Environment (시각화 환경의 개발에 대한 두 관점)

  • 컴퓨터의 급속한 보급으로 시각화는 수학 교육자사이의 논의에 자주 등장하는 소재가 되었다. 우리는 다양한 소프트웨어를 사용하여 준비한 수업에 학생들로 임하게는 하지만 거의 그들의 사고 발달과정에는 관심을 갖지 못하고 있다. 이 논문은 구성주의(Constructivism)와 정보처리체계(Information-Processing System)에 입각하여 수학의 시각화를 생각해보고 어떻게 시각화 환경을 준비해야하는지 논해보고자 하였다. 구성주의의 시각화에서는 반영적 추상(reflective abstraction), 반복되는 경험(repeated experience), 그리고 지식 위계성이 학습의 기능 체계를 이루므로 발견적 학습을 통해 학생 스스로 의미를 구성할 수 있도록 Thomas (1992)의 세 가지 제안을 이용하여 수업을 준비할 수 있다. 정보처리체계에서는 지식은 서술적인 것과 과정적인 것으로 나뉘어지고, 시각적 표상을 수록하고 삭제하는 과정과 조작 가능한(manipulative) 환경과의 상호작용으로 기호적 시각으로 표상을 변화하는 과정을 통해 개념을 습득하게된다. 시각화는 스키마와 개념상을 통해서 일어난다. 그래프, 애니메이션, 그리고 다른 시각적 표상 등은 이 개념상에 직접적 효과를 주므로 매우 중요하다. 이런 논란을 바탕으로 교사는 반영적 추상화를 위해 시간을 충분히 제공해야하고, 비슷한 문제를 가지고 여러번 시도를 할 수 있게 하며, 학생을 잘 관찰하여 그들의 지식 위계성을 이해하고 방향을 제시하며, 논리적이고 잘 연결된 시각적 표상을 제공하고, 상징적 사관으로 확장할 수 있게 조작할 수 있는 환경에서 시각화에 대해 학생과 많은 대화를 하도록 수업을 준비해야한다. 그한 예로 타원을 가르치기 위해 몇 가지 테크놀로지를 활용한 시각화 환경을 구성해보았다.ates of bisected bovine embryos by micromanipulator and micropipett were 29.2% and 19.1%, respectively. Development and Effects of Instruction Model for Using Digital Textbook in Elementary Science Classes (초등 과학 수업에서 디지털 교과서 활용 수업모형 개발 및 효과)

  • Digital textbooks enable learning that is appropriate to the characteristics and level of learners through various interactions. The purpose of this study was to develop an instruction model that can more effectively use digital textbooks in elementary science classes and to verify its effectiveness. The results were as follows. The instruction model for helping learners complete their learning by using digital textbooks needs to receive diagnostic assessment and feedback on entry behavior, to build a self-directed learning environment, and to interact with teachers, students, and digital textbooks as scaffolding. In this study, we developed an instruction model using digital textbooks reflecting these characteristic. The instructional model consists of preparation, practice and solidity step. In the preparation step, the learner performs a diagnostic evaluation using digital textbooks. Based on the results, feedback provided at each level can complement the entry behavior and maintain interest in learning activities. In the practice step, self-directed learning is implemented using diverse functions of digital textbooks and various types of data. In the solidity step, learners can internalize the learning contents by reviewing video clips which are provided by teachers, performing problem-solving activities, and accessing outcomes accumulated by learners in the community online. In order to verify the effectiveness of this model, we selected the "Weather and our Life" unit. This experiment was conducted using 101 students in the 5th grade in B Elementary School in Gwangju Metropolitan City. In the experimental group, 50 students learned using a smart device that embodies digital textbooks applied with the instruction model. In the comparative group, 51 students were taught using the paper textbooks. The results were as follows. First, there was a significant effect on the improvement of the learning achievement in the experimental group with low academic ability compared with the comparative group with low academic ability. Second, there was a significant effect on self-directed learning attitude in the experimental group. Third, in the experimental group, the number of interactions with the learner, teacher, and digital textbook was higher than the comparative group. In conclusion, the digital textbooks based on the instruction model in elementary science classes developed in this study helped to improve learners' learning achievement and self-directed learning attitudes.

  • There are making epoch changes of a teaching method and educational contents as information communication technology (ICT) introduced to school education. The 7th curriculum induces that teaching hours should be assigned to education using ICT more than 10% of all classroom work hours. In this study, we established basic course of courseware design for applying ICT to physical education effectively in the 7th curriculum. We developed distance-learning program for motion of short-distance race and the entire his power race in middle school using Web. Flash and Database. And we evaluated efficiency by students that are 4 classrooms (140 persons) after teaching using the WBI. According to results of questions and a test, the students expressed that education using ICT make understanding of instruction substance effectively. concentrating their attention on teaching and concerning in teaching actively.

Team Project Activity and Satisfaction in Business Education (경영학 수업에서 팀 프로젝트활동과 수업만족에 관한 연구)

  • Since 2010, the universities in Korea have been faced severe difficulties on the selection of students and on the delivery of high quality education services, as the number of students is reduced and the college entrance rate is declined. To solve these problems, the universities have introduced the various and professional education services such as team-based projects, case study, e-learning, action learning, etc. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of team-based project learning on the student's satisfaction in business education. The 4 factors(team cohesiveness, teamwork, team performance and goal achievement) are measured by using questionnaire survey and data are collected from 134 students(34 teams) for 4 subjects. The results show that the structure of team cohesiveness${\rightarrow}$teamwork${\rightarrow}$student's satisfaction is statistically significant, and that team performance and goal achievement are not significant. The student's satisfaction in team-based project learning would highly be related with team cohesiveness.

Instructional Effect of Cooperative Learning in Problem Solving Strategy (문제 해결 전략에서 협동학습의 효과)

  • The effect of cooperative learning in a heuristic approach (four stage-problem solving strategy) that also emphasized molecular level representation was studied. Three high school classes (N=130) were randomly assigned to St group (using strategy individually), St-Co group (using strategy in cooperative group), and control group. After instruction, students' multiple-choice problem solving ability, strategy performing ability, and the perception of involvement were compared. Students' preferred instruction type was also examined. Although multiple-choice problem solving ability were not different significantly, a significant interaction between the treatment and the previous achievement level was found in strategy performing ability. Analysis of simple effects indicated that the medium-level students in the St group performed better than those in the St-Co group. In the perception questionnaire of involvement. however, the scores of the St group were significantly lower than those of the control group. The instruction type that students most preferred was also St-Co.
