Exploratory Study on Application of PBL at Global TVET (글로벌 TVET에서의 PBL 적용에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • This study was conducted to explore the effectiveness of PBL application at Technical and Vocational Education and Training. PBL was applied to the course of the A University's global TVET and these PBL classes were organized and operated for 8 weeks. After that, written interviews and surveys were conducted and the results were analyzed. Learners responded positively to their satisfaction and engagement to the PBL experience and also presented that they felt that communication skills and problem-solving skills were cultivated through self-directed learning process and team activities. Through the above research results, the precedence of content analysis and learner analysis, related support for the spread of PBL application in TVET, and support to strengthen teaching competency on PBL at TVET were proposed.

Relationship between educational satisfaction and learning participation in dental hygiene students (일부 치위생과 학생의 교육만족도와 학습참여도와의 관련성)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between educational satisfaction and learning participation of dental hygiene students. Method: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 344 dental hygiene students in Gyeonggido, Chungcheongdo, and Gyeongsangdo from June 2 to 24, 2014, The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects(3 items), choice reason of dental hygiene(7 items), educational satisfaction(22 items), and learning participation(11 items). The educational satisfaction and learning participation were assessed by Likert 5 points scale. Data were analyzed by a statistical package SPSS WIN 18.0. Results: Educational satisfaction included educational environments, teaching, educational content and educational effect. Learning participation included class flow, class participation and class readiness. Gyeongsangdo students tended to have higher score than other areas. The educational effect and teaching effect had more influence on learning participation. Conclusion: To improve the better dental hygiene education, it is important to prepare the effective educational methods and find out the influencing factors for class immersion.

The Educatees' Perception Change of Learning Motivation and Fairness on Feedback using App (앱기반 피드백에 대한 피교육자의 학습동기 및 공정성 인식 변화)

  • Effective feedback plays a key role in education environments to motivate the students and to maintain their flow. However, there usually lacks in providing effective feedbacks in education environments due to an excessive number of students and insufficient class times. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the educatees' response on game like feedback using App. In this paper, Class123 App developed and published by BravePops was used. During one semester, Class123 App had been used in engineering class and the educatees' responses on game like feedbacks using Class123 App are analyzed. Statistical analysis results show that the feedbacks using Class123 App made positive effects to motivate the students. Especially, the positive feedbacks were more effective than the negative feedbacks.

  • This study is intend to define learning driving force for learner-centered education and to derive it's components(IDEA : degree of Interest, Dynamics of learning process, degree of self-Effectiveness, expectation level of Academic achievement). To validate the concept of driving force, we analyzed the instructional design techniques, operating procedures, result reports, professor's comments of flipped learning courses which were conducted systematically in K-university during last 4years. As a result, I suggest the directives and guidances required for effective flipped learning based on driving force.

  • The purpose of this paper is to solve the difficulties of experimental education by using AR science experiments in class, prevent safety accidents, and maximize immersion through multilateral experiences to induce active participation. The problems with educational realistic content currently being developed were (1) the lack of exploratory content practically available in class, (2) the end of most applications with one-time content, and (3) the inability to interact between teachers and students. To solve these problems, we develop AR experiments according to the curriculum. It is developed so that teachers and students can use it together through the function that teachers can manage students.

The Effects of Satisfaction with Culinary-Related Majors at Local Junior Colleges on Learning Immersion and Self-Efficacy

  • This study investigated the influence of major satisfaction on learning flow and self-efficacy of students majoring in culinary arts at local junior colleges. In the 2022-2 semester, 260 freshmen and sophomore college students majoring in culinary from five junior colleges in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions were analyzed. For data processing, SPSS Ver. 25.0 was used. The data is used to measure reliability by Cronbach's α, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows : First, there was a difference in satisfaction between freshmen and sophomores in major satisfaction with cooking related departments at local junior colleges. Second, there was a significant effect of satisfaction with cooking-related majors at local junior colleges on learning immersion. Third, there was a significant effect of satisfaction with cooking-related majors at local junior colleges on self-efficacy. In conclusion, it was found that major satisfaction affects learning immersion and self-efficacy for both students enrolled in cooking-related departments at local junior colleges. In the future, we suggest follow-up research on educational measures to increase learning immersion and self-efficacy for students who are not majoring in cooking in the high school curriculum and students who are insufficient in major classes due to part-time jobs during the semester.

A Study on the Mediating Effect of Commitment to Learning in the Relationship between Instructor Communication and Reselection of the same Instructor - Focused on college students in lifelong education - (교수자 커뮤니케이션과 교수자 재선택 관계에서의 학습몰입의 매개효과 - 성인대학생을 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims to investigate the mediating effects of commitment to learning on the relationship between instructor communication and reselection of the same instructor among college students in lifelong education. For this purpose, the investigator conducted a survey with college students in lifelong education attending a two or three year college or a university in Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongsangbuk Province and analyzed a final total of 498 questionnaires with the SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 statistical programs. The findings were as follows: instructors' verbal and non-verbal communication had total significant effects on the path of reselection of the same instructor by college students in lifelong education, but it had no direct significant effects on reselection of the same instructor. Instructors' verbal and non-verbal communication had indirect effects on reselection of the same instructor by college students in lifelong education via commitment to learning. These findings imply that if instructors make use of their verbal and non-verbal communication in lessons for college students in lifelong education according to their characteristics, it will be able to increase their commitment to learning as well as satisfaction with lessons.

Effects of Practical Training Using 3D Printed Structure-Based Blind Boxes on Multi-Dimensional Radiographic Image Interpretation Ability (3D 프린팅 구조물 기반 블라인드박스를 이용한 실습교육이 다차원 방사선영상해독력에 미치는 효과)

  • In this study, we are purposed to find the educational effect of practical training using a 3D printed structure-based blind box on multidimensional radiographic image interpretation. The subjects were 83 (male: 49, female: 34) 2nd year radiological science students who participated in the digital medical imaging practice that was conducted for 3 years from 2020 to 2022. The learning method used 3D printing technology to print out the inside structure of the blind box designed by itself. After taking X-rays 3 times (x, y, z axis), the structure images in the blind box were analyzed for each small group. We made the 3D structure that was self-made with clay based on our 2D radiographic images. After taking X-rays of the 3D structure, it was compared whether it matches the structural image of the blind box. The educational effect for the practical training surveyed class faithfulness, radiographic image interpretation ability (attenuation concept, contrast concept, windowing concept, 3-dimensional reading ability), class satisfaction (interest, external recommendation, immersion) on a 5-point Likert scale as an anonymous student self-writing method. As a result, all evaluation items had high positive effects without significant differences between males and females. Practical education using blind boxes is a meaningful example of radiology education technology using 3D printing technology, and it is expected to be used as content to improve students' problem-solving skills and increase satisfaction with major subjects.

  • The aim of software education is to increase students' Computational Thinking(CT) skills that they can compose problems and provide solutions which can be carried out effectively by information-processing systems. Furthermore, if problem solving situations can provide students with meaningful problem solving opportunities in authentic social contexts, then software education would be more valuable. This study pursued educational robot-based SW convergence education where 4th grade primary students have access to tangible outputs and can engage in authentic problem solving situations working with peers by using robots and programming. In addition, this study investigated the effectiveness of the classes in terms of computational thinking skills and social capabilities(collaborative skills and communication skills). The current study provides educational robot-based SW convergence education cases of a primary school and discusses the effectiveness of the classes in terms of students' computational thinking skills and social capabilities.

The effect of non-face-to-face class satisfaction on major commitment of nursing students after COVID-19 (COVID-19 이후 비대면 수업 만족도가 간호대학생의 전공몰입도에 미치는 영향)

  • The study is a descriptive correlational study, aimed to identify the effect of non-face-to-face class satisfaction on major commitment of nursing students after COVID-19. The subjects are 123 3rd and 4th grade nursing students at three universities located in S city and G province, data were collected using the Google Online Questionnaire from March 9th to April 9th, 2022. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 28.0 program. As a result of the analysis, the factors that affect major commitment are the upper grade (β=.290, p=.013), the middle grade (β=.272, p=.022), and the contents of non-face-to-face class satisfaction (β=.308, p=.008) accounting for 16.5%. Therefore, developmental strategies and educational programs to organize the contents of non-face-to-face classes are required to be enhanced in order to improve nursing students' class satisfaction and major commitment.
