  • This study aims to construct a basic PBL class research data model that can strengthen and improve technical college students' abilities to participate in field-education classes and problem-solving skills. A significant effect was found in PBL classes with regard to technical college students' problem-solving skills and abilities to participate in field-education classes, as posited by the hypothesis. The results of the PBL course, which is a hypothesis of research, have been confirmed to have a significant effect on the participation of college students in field practice and on the ability to solve problems. Seventy-one students from five departments (humanities, social studies, and arts) at D University in North GyeongSang Province were selected as final subjects. The study was conducted for seven weeks from October 10 to December 05, 2021, in three stages: pre-inspection, PBL operation, and post-inspection. In the college life experiences of students with disabilities who study late within the Department of Social Welfare, it was confirmed that the study participants independently changed toward their independent life satisfaction and positive perception of themselves as a process of change in which the self-determination rights and goals and hopes for their lives by seeking the role for the disabled who have not yet been encountered and in the process of positively recognizing themselves.

  • Today, art education needs education of media image production or media in the extended field. The purpose of this study is to develop the basic visual grammar and communication ability. We developed and applied the teaching plan for the interview video production as the fusion lesson. 3 classes were conducted for 30 middle school students. The results obtained through the analysis of the pre & post questions and student works are as follows. First, the students used the shot size and stable composition through the interview video production. As a result, this class was effective for the acquisition of the basic video grammar. Second, students improved their ability to ask and listen, understand and organize through interview. As a result, students were able to apply the basic video grammar through the interview video production lesson, effectively producing the interview image.

  • It is very important for Academic purpose Korean leaner to understand main ideas and overall context of texts. In order to understand the overall context and mail ideas of text, learners need output task, ways to perform what they are learning, such as retelling. That would help them to realize that there is a gap between what they have understood and what they can actually speak or write. These out activities help learners comprehend the text more efficiently, while at the same time raising their confidence level. The purpose of this study was to develop an education plan to improve reading comprehension ability by using retelling activity. To achieve the purpose of the study, retelling activity, which makes it easier to take an integrated approach to language function and is considered to be relatively effective, was utilized because of the characteristics of retelling activity education instead of teacher-centered education methods.

  • This study focuses the relationships of job performance abilities with learner satisfaction and learning performance for NCS-based courses in colleges from instructors' perspectives. The results of this study show that the satisfaction of learners for NCS-based courses is statistically higher when learners are evaluated 3 times or more rather than twice or less. And also it reports that when 3 or more different evaluation methods are applied per evaluation of job performance ability, learner satisfaction is statistically higher. On the other hand, the performance of learners is turned out to be better with both evaluations of 3 times or more, and 3 or more different evaluation methods per job performance ability. However those results are not statistically meaningful. It concludes that from a view of process-based formative evaluation, evaluating job performance ability itself should be considered as an activity for improving teaching and learning in higher vocational education of colleges.

  • This research examines educational effects on students' scientific process skills after applying a robot utilized MBL learning. Surveys and interviews concerning robot based science lessons were also conducted. The students were divided into experiment group who used the robots and controlled group who used traditional learning method with textbook and experiments. The result showed some significant differences in scientific measurement, prediction and inference(<.05). In contrast, no significant differences were found in observation and classification. The students answered the survey that the robots helped them understand science better and made science lessons more interesting.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic data on pre-service teacher's education based on cooperative learning-oriented teaching and learning methods by applying cooperative learning to verify the effectiveness of pre-service early childhood teacher's communication and problem-solving ability. In the first semester of 2021, 4th grade students who took the teaching method by subject class opened by department of early childhood education at C university were taught for 11 weeks from March 1st week to May 2nd week in 2021 for 4 hours a week. The results of this study were as follows: First, the average score of interpretive ability was the highest in the sub-areas of communication ability of pre-service early childhood teachers, followed by message conversion ability, role performance ability, self-presentation ability, and goal setting ability in the cooperative learning-oriented teaching method by subject class. Second, in terms of the overall average score of pre-service teacher's problem-solving ability, the average score of post-test was increased compared to the average score of pre-test. Through the cooperative learning-oriented class experience in the university's early childhood teacher training course, it is possible to cultivate the practical ability that can be used variously for the children such as communication ability and problem-solving ability in the early childhood education field. Therefore, it is necessary to provide opportunities for cooperative learning-oriented teaching methods in the teacher's education curriculum.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the difference in science class ability, science pedagogy achievement and class evaluation factors according to elementary pre-service teacher's gender. Also, the correlation between science pedagogy achievement and science instructional ability was examined. Finally, the evaluation factors applied to the evaluation of science instruction according to male and female gender of elementary pre-service teachers were examined. This study was conducted from september 2019 to december 2019 for 88 elementary pre-service teachers attending P University of Education in Pusan metropolitan city. Among these 88 students, 32 elementary pre-service students were male, 56 were female. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing the science instructional ability according to genders of elementary pre-service teachers, female elementary pre-service teachers showed statistically significant higher scores in science class ability compared to male elementary pre-service teachers. Second, as a result of analyzing the achievement of elementary science pedagogy according to gender of elementary pre-service teachers, female showed statistically significant higher scores for elementary science pedagogy than that of male. Third, as a result of analyzing the correlation between science instructional ability and elementary science pedagogy achievement, there was no statistically significant difference. This result can be applied both side of male and female. Fourth, both male and female pre-service teachers had various instructional evaluation factors, among which the linguistic factors of the instruction were used most frequently as criteria for instructional evaluation.

  • Self-directed learning ability is more important than before. It is well-known that traditional teacher-directed lecture class, seminar-like oral presentation class, and even discussion/debate class have not been enough to enforce self-directed learning ability for students. To resolve the problem, a new dynamic complex instruction model (DCIM) was developed for undergraduate and graduate students and a basic frame of DCIM was published by Oh (2010). Here, it is examined if the application of DCIM to a biology class of graduate school can cause improvement of self-directed learning ability. For this, the self-directed learning readiness scale (West & Bentley, 1990) translated by Ryu (1997) and motivation scale (Hayamizu. 1997) translated by Oh (2001) were employed, and then measurements performed with the translated scales were done in the beginning and the last of two DCIM-adapted graduate biology classes at K university, Daegu, South Korea in the first semester of the year 2010. The results show that self-directed learning ability could be significantly improved through the DCIM-adapted class, compared to the result of a teacher-directed lecture class as a control group. With respect to the motivation, there was not found any statistically significant difference between control and experiment groups of graduate students. The present study seems to be meaningful in that it is the first work proving the effect of improvement of self-directed learning ability of graduate students through the DCIM-adapted classes.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Microcomputer Based Laboratory (MBL) on the middle school students' graphing skill and science process skill in Earth Science classes. MBL teaching materials for inquiry-based instructions were developed to teach five experimental topics related to the middle school 'Earth Science.' Thirty three middles school students participated in this study, and the pre- and post-tests were conducted. Results indicated as follow: First, MBL classes were effective in developing the graphing skill of middle school students. They were efficient both in graph construction and graph interpretation, especially in data transformation. Second, MBL classes were effective in helping participants to use science process skills, especially, in the subordinate areas including formulating hypotheses, making operational definition, graphing, and interpreting data.
