In this study, $La_{0.9}Sr_{0.1}Cr_{0.7}M_{0.3}O_{3{\pm}{\delta}}$ (M=Mn, Ru, Fe, Ni) were prepared by sol-gel method and water gas shift reaction with simulated coal-derived syngas between $400{\sim}650^{\circ}C$ was conducted to evaluate the catalytic activity of prepared catalysts. Physico-chemical properties were characterized by XRD, BET, SEM-EDS and TPR. The formation of perovskite crystallite, $LaCrO_3$ was confirmed and the highest surface area was measured with $La_{0.9}Sr_{0.1}Cr_{0.7}Mn_{0.3}O_{3{\pm}{\delta}}$. Equilibrium conversion of CO above $550^{\circ}C$ was achieved except $La_{0.9}Sr_{0.1}Cr_{0.7}Fe_{0.3}O_{3{\pm}{\delta}}$. and methanation reaction was carried out as side reaction of water gas shift reaction with $La_{0.9}Sr_{0.1}Cr_{0.7}Ni_{0.3}O_{3{\pm}{\delta}}$ and $La_{0.9}Sr_{0.1}Cr_{0.7}Ru_{0.3}O_{3{\pm}{\delta}}$. Conclusively, $La_{0.9}Sr_{0.1}Cr_{0.7}M_n{0.3}O_{3{\pm}{\delta}}$ was the most suitable catalyst of water gas shift reaction above $500^{\circ}C$ for CO conversion and hydrogen production.

Cu/Mn/Ce catalysts for water gas shift (WGS) reaction were synthesized by urea-nitrate combustion method with the fixed molar ratio of Cu/Mn as 1:4 and 1:1 with the doping concentration of Ce from 0.3 to 0.8 mol%. The prepared catalysts were characterized with SEM, BET, XRD, XPS, $H_2$-TPR, $CO_2$ TPD, $N_2O$ chemisorption analysis. The catalytic activity tests were carried out at a GHSV of $28,000h^{-1}$ and a temperature range of 200 to $400^{\circ}C$. The Cu/Mn(CM) catalysts formed Cu-Mn mixed oxide of spinel structure ($Cu_{1.5}Mn_{1.5}O_4$) and manganese oxides ($MnO_x$). However, when a small amount of Ce was doped, the growth of $Cu_{1.5}Mn_{1.5}O_4$ was inhibited and the degree of Cu dispersion were increased. Also, the doping of Ce on the CM catalyst reduced the reduction temperature and the base site to induce the active site of the catalyst to be exposed on the catalyst surface. From the XPS analysis, it was confirmed that maintaining the oxidation state of Cu appropriately was a main factor in the WGS reaction. Consequently, Ce as support and dopant in the water gas shift reaction catalysts exhibited the enhanced catalytic activities on CM catalysts. We found that proper amount of Ce by preparing catalysts with different Cu/Mn ratios.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the optimal condition for the hydrogen-rich gas production and the CO removal by reforming of gliding arc plasma reforming system using biogas. The parametric screening studies were carried out according to changes of steam feed amount, catalyst bed temperature in water gas reactor and catalyst bed temperature, input air flow rate in preferential oxidation reactor. The standard condition is as follows. The steam/carbon ratio, catalyst bed temperature, total gas flow rate, input electric power and biogas composition rate ($CH_4$ : $CO_2$) were fixed 3, $700^{\circ}C$, 16 L/min, 2.4 kW and 6 : 4, respectively. The results are as follow, HTS optimum operating conditions were S/C ratio of 3 and reactor temperature of $500^{\circ}C$. LTS were S/C ratio of 2.9 and temperature of $300^{\circ}C$. Also, PROX I optimum conditions were input air flow rate of 300 mL/min and reactor temperature of $190^{\circ}C$. PROX II were 200 mL/min and $190^{\circ}C$ respectively. After having passed through each reactor, the results were as follows: 55% of $H_{2}$ yield, 0% of CO selectivity, 99% of $CH_4$ conversion rate, 27% of $CO_2$ conversion rate, respectively.

The water-gas shift reaction for the compact reformer was carried out at a gas hourly space velocity of 72,152 h-1 over the Cu-Nb-CeO2 catalysts prepared by co-precipitation method. In order to investigate the effect of Nb2O5 promotion over a Cu-CeO2 catalyst, the Nb2O5 loading amount was systematically changed from 0 to 5 wt.%. Among the prepared catalysts, the Cu-Nb-CeO2 (1%) catalyst showed the highest catalytic activity (CO conversion=61% at 400℃) as well as 100% CO2 selectivity. The high activity and stability of Cu-Nb-CeO2 (1%) catalyst are correlated to high Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area, small metallic Cu crystallite size, and enhanced redox property.
The autothermal reforming of methane to syngas has been carried out in a reactor charged with both a Ni (15 wt%)-Ru (1 wt%)/$Al_2O_3$-MgO metallic monolith catalyst and an electrically-heated convertor (EHC). The standalone type reactor has a start-up time of less than 2 min with the reactant gas of $700^{\circ}C$ fed to the autothermal reactor. The $O_2/CH_4$ and $H_2O/CH_4$ ratio governed the methane conversion and temperature profile of reactor. The reactor temperature increased as the reaction shifted from endothermic to exothermic reaction with decreasing $H_2O/CH_4$ ratio. Also the amount of $CO_2$ in the products increases with increasing $H_2O/CH_4$ ratio due to water gas shift reaction. The 97% of $CH_4$ conversion was obtained and the reactor temperature was maintained $600^{\circ}C$ at the condition of $GHSV=10,000\;h^{-1}$ and feed ratio ($H_2O/CH_4=0.6$ and $O_2/CH_4=0.5$). In this condition, the maximum flow rate of the syngas generated from the reactor charged with 170 cc of the metallic monolith catalyst is $0.94\;Nm^3/h$.

The interest in water gas shift (WGS) reaction has grown significantly, as a result of the recent advances in fuel cell technology and the need to develop small-scale fuel processors. Recently, researchers have tried to overcome the disadvantages of the commercial WGS catalysts. As a consequence, supported Pt catalysts have attracted a lot of researchers due to high activity and stability for WGS at low temperatures. In this study, $Pt-Na/Ce_{(1-x)}Zr_{(x)}O_2$ catalysts with various Ce/Zr ratio have been applied to WGS at a gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) of $45,515h^{-1}$. According to TPR patterns of $Pt-Na/Ce_{(1-x)}Zr_{(x)}O_2$ catalysts, the reducibility increases with decreasing the $ZrO_2$ content. As a result, Cubic structure $Pt-Na/Ce_{(1-x)}Zr_{(x)}O_2$ catalysts exhibited higher CO conversion than tetragonal structure $Pt-Na/Ce_{(1-x)}Zr_{(x)}O_2$ catalysts. Expecially, Pt-Na/$CeO_2$ exhibited the highest CO conversion as well as 100% selectivity to $CO_2$. Moreover, Pt-Na/$CeO_2$ catalyst showed relatively stable activity with time on stream. The high activity of cubic structure Pt-Na/$CeO_2$ catalyst was correlated to its higher oxygen storage capacity (OSC) of $CeO_2$ and easier reducibility of Pt/$CeO_2$.

Simulated waste-derived synthesis gas has been tested for hydrogen production through water-gas shift (WGS) reaction over supported Cu catalysts prepared by co-precipitation method. $CeO_2$, $ZrO_2$, MgO, and $Al_2O_3$ were employed as supports for WGS reaction in this study. $Cu-CeO_2$ catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity as well as 100% $CO_2$ selectivity for WGS in severe conditions ($GHSV=40,206h^{-1}$ and CO concentration = 38.0%). In addition, $Cu-CeO_2$ catalyst showed stable CO conversion for 20h without detectable catalyst deactivation. The high activity and stability of $Cu-CeO_2$ catalyst are correlated to its easier reducibility, high oxygen mobility/storage capacity of $CeO_2$.

A gasification process with pre-combustion $CO_2$ capture process, which converts coal into environment-friendly synthetic gas, might be promising option for sustainable energy conversion. In the coal gasification for power generation, coal is converted into $H_2$, CO and $CO_2$. To reduce the cost of $CO_2$ capture and to maximize hydrogen production, the removal of CO and the additional production of hydrogen might be needed. In this study, a 2l/min water gas shift system for a coal gasifier has been studied. To control the concentration of major components such as $H_2$, CO, and $CO_2$, MFCs were used in experimental apparatus. The gas concentration in these experiments was equal with syngas concentration from dry coal gasifiers ($H_2$: 25-35, CO: 60-65, $CO_2$: 5-15 vol%). The operation conditions of the WGS system were $200-400^{\circ}C$, 1-10bar. Steam/Carbon ratios were between 2.0 and 5.0. The commercial catalysts were used in the high temperature shift reactor and the low temperature shift reactor. As steam/carbon ratio increased, the conversion (1-$CO_{out}/CO_{in}$) increased from 93% to 97% at the condition of CO: 65, $H_2$: 30, $CO_2$: 5%. However the conversion decreased with increasing of gas flow and temperature. The gas concentration from LTS was $H_2$: 54.7-60.0, $CO_2$: 38.8-44.9, CO: 0.3-1%.
