  • This paper analyzes the characteristics of various types of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for military use and how each type can be utilized in military operations. The scope of the study focuses on the structural features, advantages and disadvantages, and military application cases of fixed-wing, rotary-wing, hybrid, and swarm drones. It also discusses the development direction of drone technology, changes in military strategy, opportunities, and challenges. The results show that each type of drone plays a crucial role in various military operations such as reconnaissance, surveillance, strike, logistics, search, and rescue. With advancements in artificial intelligence, autonomous flight, and swarm technologies, the range of drone applications is expected to expand further. However, ensuring the safety and ethics of drone operations and establishing international norms have emerged as major challenges.

  • This paper aims to measure and evaluate the technical efficiency with two inputs and four outputs with the use of fuzzy DEA in Korean RCC/RSC. Especially, this paper included not only the marine accident data which occurred for the analysis in particular but also the possibility data of a potential marine accident by an Environmental Stress value and analyzed the technical efficiency. And in this paper, asymmetrical triangular fuzzy number is presented about inputs/ outputs data and a procedure is suggested for it's solution. The basic idea is to transform the fuzzy CCR model into a crisp linear programming problem by applying an alternative ${\alpha}$-cut approach. Also this paper propose a ranking method for fuzzy RCC/RSC using presented fuzzy DEA approach. The result, when ${\alpha}$-cut is 0.5, efficiency priority is found in the order of YS, BS, MP, TY, JJ, PH, US, IC, SC, DH, GS, TA, WD RCC/RSC. Finally, Inefficiency TA, WD RCC/RSC have to benchmarking with reference sets.

  • The drone market in Korea is growing with a focus on the use of prevention, defense, exploration and surveying, search and rescue, video shooting, and facility management. However, the foreign dependence on drone's core technologies and components is high. Drone-powered countries such as the US and China are expanding the weaponization of drones, which can intensify trade wars between countries, such as strengthening import and export regulations and monopoly. Therefore, Korea should put R & D and localization of core technology, parts, and accessories of next generation drone first. For this, policy research and investment in infrastructure, equipment, and research personnel should be preceded. This study studied the evaluation of investment priorities by infrastructure sector (facility equipment, utilization field, and demand manpower) to foster small drone companies through literature studies. To this end, we expanded and reclassified e isting research, developed investment prioritization indicators through expert group interviews and reviews, derived future uncertainties, and selected investment priorities by infrastructure sector using AHP techniques. Finally, it proposed an infrastructure construction strategy to foster small drone companies in terms of drone development support, utilization support.

  • Accidents of worker that occur in isolated places are difficult to rescue, unlike general construction accidents. There is a problem of communication limitation when an accident occurs in an isolated place. Also, it is difficult to search the accident place due to the absence of CCTV. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes a device that combines IoT technology with a safety helmet, which must be worn in the workplace. The proposed device additionally designs and implements a real-time PPG(Photoplethysmography) sensor, body temperature sensor, accelerometer sensor and a camera sensor on the helmet. The proposed helmet system allows the user and the control center to monitor the state of the worker. In addition, when an abnormal biological signal or fall occurs to the worker, the image is transmitted to the control center. By using the proposed system, it is possible to check the status of the worker in real time, so that it has an advantage that it can cope with the accident quickly.

  • To support anti-collision between ship to ship and sea-search and sea-rescue work, ship automatic identification system(AIS) that can both send and receive messages between ship and VTS Traffic control have been adopted. And port control system can control traffic vessel service which is co-operated with AIS. For more efficient traffic vessel service, ship recognition and display system is required to cooperated with AIS. In this paper, we propose ship detection system which is co-operated with AIS by using background estimation based on image processing for on the sea or harbor image extracted from camera. We experiment with on the sea or harbor image extracted from real-time input image from camera. By computer simulation and real world test, the proposed system show more effective to ship monitoring.

  • UAVs began to be actively applied to so-called 3D jobs, including the autonomous exploration, investigation, mapping, search and rescue, etc. since the mid-2000s. With this global trend, having a precise controllability of the UAV will certainly revolutionize the life of the modern human in the aspect of tremendous applications of the UAV. In the first part, a simplified dynamic model of the UAV identified using system identification techniques is compared with the previously built time-discrete linear model. In the second part, the three parameters of the dynamic model are estimated using the batch and RLS methods. Angular acceleration data of the quadrotor UAV at the hovering maneuver are analyzed and shown to be converging at all time. Also, according to the quadrotor flight data from both experiments and MATLAB simulations, the batch estimation method turns out to be more accurate than the RLS estimation method based on the comparison of final parameter values.

  • To provide reliable data for drift prediction models, field experiments were carried out in the coastal region off Busan port. Four different size of vessels(10, 30, 50, 90G/T ton) were deployed for the experiment. Among them G/T 50ton class vessel was equipped with instruments measuring the currents, winds, headings and trajectory data. In the rest of vessels only the position data were recorded for the purpose of target divergence study. The trajectories of each vessel were measured by DGPS(Differential Global Positioning System) and collected by APRS(Automatic Position Reporting System). The experiment was done in wind of 2~10m/s and current of 0.5~1.5m/s. The leeway was derived by subtracting surface current velocity from target drifting velocity. The leeway rate of G/T 50ton vessel was found to be about 3.6% and the computed leeway speed equation was $U_L$=0.042 W - 0.034. The processed leeway angle data were deflected by $-30^{\circ}$~$40^{\circ}$ from the direction of ship drift.

  • Recently, as the field of use of drones is diversified, it is actively used not only for surveying but also for search and rescue work. In these applications it is very important to know the location of the target or the location of the UAV. This paper proposes a target detection method using images taken from drones. The proposed method calculates the latitude and longitude information of the target by finding the location of the target by comparing it with the image to find the image taken by the drone. The exact latitude and longitude information of the target is calculated by calculating the actual distance corresponding to the distance of the image image using the characteristics of the pinhole camera. The proposed method through the actual experiment confirmed that the latitude and longitude of the target was accurately identified.

  • Under the Aviation Safety Act of Korea, any person who intends to operate a drone is required to follow the operational conditions listed below, unless approved by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism; (i) Operation of drones in the daytime, (ii) Operation of drones within Visual Line of Sight, (iii) Maintenance of a certain operating distance between drones and persons or properties on the ground/ water surface, (iv) Do not operate drones over event sites where many people gather, (v) Do not transport hazardous materials such as explosives by drone, (vi) Do not drop any objects from drones. Requirements stated in "Airspace in which Flights are Prohibited" and "Operational Limitations" are not applied to flights for search and rescue operations by public organizations in case of accidents and disasters. This paper analyzes legal issues as to definition and regulations of drones in Korean Aviation Safety Act. This paper, also, offers some implications and suggestions for regulations of drones under Korean Aviation Safety Act by comparing the regulations of drones in Japanese Civil Aeronautics Act.
