Development of Design Technology for Passenger Car Driveshaft Under the Real Load Conditions (실제하중 하에서의 축류설계기술 개발)

  • 승요차 앞자축에 장착되어 회전하면서 동력을 전달하는 드라이브축은 운행중에 주로 비틀림하중을 받는다. 따라서 동 부품의 피로해석 및 설계를 위해서는 실제 운행중에 받는 서비스토크의 크기, 주파수 등에 관한 데이터가 필요하다. 차량에 탑재된 엔진의 토크와 회전수 등의 규격으로부터 드라이브축에 부가되는 최대 토크 값을 예측할 수 있으나, 자동차 운행주에는 승차인원, 도로조건, 운전자의 운전습관 등 여러가지 외적인 영향으로 인하여 서비스토크가 불규칙하게 변할 것으로 예상되므로 서비스토크를 정확히 예측하기는 어려운 실정이다. 또한, 최근의 자동차 구조부품에 대한 설계개념이 무한수명 설계에서 경량화 설계로 변화되고 있으며, 따라서 자동차 드라이브축도 실제 운용하중을 바탕으로 한 정확한 수명예측 및 강도설계가 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 4륜구동형 승용차용 드라이브축에 대해 실제 운용하중에서의 피로수명을 예측하기 위해 1)텔리메트리를 이용하여 토크를 측정하고, 2) 일정진촉하중하에서의 드라이브축의 비틀림 피로시험을 수행하고, 3) 일정진폭하중하에서의 드라이브축의 비틀림 피로시험을 수행하고, 4) 축류 소재의 피로특성 데이터를 구성하여 5) 자체 개발한 프로그램으로 피로수명을 예측하고자 한다.

A Study on Effects of the Residual Stresses Around Cold Working Hole of the Aircraft Structure (항공기 구조물의 체결용 HOLE을 COLD WORKING 할때 생성되는 잔류응력의 영향연구)

  • The objective of this research is to study effects of the residual stresses on the crack growth and the life of the structure, caused by cold working around the hole of the aircraft structure which will be jointed by rivets and bolts, etc. The compensated Morrow's equation, by experimental data from the materials AL7075-T6 and AL2024-T3, is suggested to calculate the values of the fatigue life prediction of the structure. Also, the compensated Forman's equation, by experimental data from a material AL7075-T6, is suggested to calculate the values of the crack growth prediction of the structure. It is founded that the calculated values from the suggested equations are almost close to the known values of the fatigue life prediction and the crack growth prediction. It is shown that this paper, associated with an initial research on the effects of residual stresses around hole, gives a direction to study the problem at the aircraft maintenance field.

Accelerated Life Prediction of Ethylene-Propylene Diene Monomer Rubber Subjected to Combined Degradation (복합노화를 받는 EPDM 고무의 가속수명예측)

  • The EPDM(ethylene-propylene diene monomer) rubbers used for manufacturing engine radiator hoses can be degraded by locally generated electrical stress in addition to thermal and mechanical stresses. This study presents an accelerated life prediction of the EPDM rubber under electrochemical stresses using the Arrhenius formula under various aging temperatures($60^{\circ}C$, $80^{\circ}C$, and $100^{\circ}C$). The modified life prediction formula considers the relationship between the gradient($E_a/R$) and the Arrhenius constant(C). The effects of tensile strain(5%, 10%) on the life of these rubbers were investigated. The aging temperature influences EPDM rubber life, and tensile strain was predicted. It was confirmed that the modified life prediction was within the data deviation level of the test.

  • One of the failure mechanism of spaceborne electronics is a fatigue fracture on solder joint under launch random vibration. Thus, a necessity of early diagnosis through the fatigue life evaluation on solder joint arises to prevent such potential risk of failure. The conventional life prediction methods cannot assure the accuracy of life estimation results if the packaging type changes, and also requires much time and effort to construct the analysis model of highly integrated PCB with various packaging types. In this study, we performed life prediction of PCB based on a reliability and life prediction tool of sherlock as a new approach for evaluating the structural reliability on solder joint, and those prediction results were validated by fatigue tests. In addition, we also investigated an influence of solder height on the fatigue life of solder joint. These results indicated that the Sherlock is applicable tool for evaluating the structural reliability of spaceborne electronic.

Statistical Life Prediction of Corroded Pipeline Using Bayesian Inference (베이지안 추론법을 이용한 부식된 배관의 통계적 수명예측)

  • Pipelines are used by large heavy industries to deliver various types of fluids. Since this is important to maintain the performance of large systems, it is necessary to accurately predict remaining life of the corroded pipeline. However, predicting the remaining life is difficult due to uncertainties in the associated variables, such as geometries, material properties, corrosion rate, etc. In this paper, a statistical method for predicting corrosion remaining life is proposed using Bayesian inference. To accomplish this, pipeline failure probability was calculated using prior information about pipeline failure pressure according to elapsed time, and the given experimental data based on Bayes' rule. The corrosion remaining life was calculated as the elapsed time with 10 % failure probability. Using 10 and 50 samples generated from random variables affecting the corrosion of the pipe, the pipeline failure probability was estimated, after which the estimated remaining useful life was compared with the assumed true remaining useful life.

  • LED luminaires as a lighting system have attracted much research attention due to their high efficiency and long lifetimes. However, disappointing outcomes have been noted in terms of performance levels and lifetimes as compared to desired system requirements in practice due to certain electrical and thermal characteristics of LEDs. LM-80 and TM-21 established by IESNA are the best known standards for lifetime test procedures and estimation techniques. However, they only handle LED light sources without guaranteeing the LED luminaire in a reliability test. They also operate for more than 6,000 hours and undergo various stresses, such as the operating current and temperature. Therefore, a lifetime standard for LED luminaires has not yet been established. This paper proposes a conceptual design of a lifetime test system for LED headlamps depending on the operating environment. Eventually, this method can assist with evaluations of the validity of lifetime standard tests of LED headlamps.

A comparative study on the TBM disc cutter wear prediction model (TBM 디스크 커터 마모 예측 모델 비교 연구)

  • In this study TBM disc cutter prediction models including Gehring, CSM and NTNU models were investigated and the characteristics of the models were examined. The influence of penetration, uniaxial compressive strength and abrasiveness index on the models was analyzed. The life of disc cutter linearly increases with penetration per revolution and decreases with increasing uniaxial compressive strength of rocks. As the abrasiveness index, CAI, increases, the life of disc cutter in Gehring and CSM model decreases. On the contrary, the life of disc cutter life in NTNU model decreases with increasing CLI. Also, comparisons of predicted disc life were made between models using actual job site data.

  • The considerations for reminder life of transmission line is gradually higher. It is requisite for investigation of ACSR life to test tensile load of ACSR as a fundamental data. It is vary important to analysis correlations between results of tensile load testing and elapsed years. Estimation of ACSR life can be obtained by statistics processing using mechanical experimental results. It is a general method to use regression analysis as a statistics processing technique. In this paper, we did experiment on tensile strength of ACSR by using a new and due to flame for artificial fire, and gathering due to a flame. The limit of life estimation is decided by basic line using twenty percentage reduction of rate tensile strength. This basic line is like to results of Canada Ontario Hydro-research. There are $480[mm^2]$ ACSR which are experimented on this study.

  • Due to the environmental regulations of the International Maritime Organization, shipyards are conducting various researches to improve the efficiency of ships, and efforts are being made to reduce the weight of ships. Recently, composite materials including CNT materials have the advantage of being able to reduce weight by 40% or more compared to general steel plate materials, and have the advantage of being able to be used as a substitute for ship clamps or door skins. Therefore, in this study, to predict the life of composite materials including CNT materials, the results were compared through the accelerated deterioration test method and the life prediction using machine learning techniques. The accelerated degradation test used the Arrhenius model equation, and the machine learning method predicted the life using a regression analysis algorithm.

압력용기강의 경년열화 평가와 그 대책

  • 이 글에서는 재료의 경년열화의 종류, 판정 방법 등에 관한 일반사항을 기술하고 고온 . 고압용 기의 경년열화현상의 대표적인 예인 T.E의 기구와 T.E감수성에 미치는 화학성분의 영향에 대해 설명하였다. 아울러 필자가 그 동안 연구해온 T.E에 의한 재료강도저하를 설명하고 수명예측을 행할 수 있는 방법을 설명하였다. 끝으로 열화의 비파괴 판정만으로 수명예측이 어려우므로 시 간에 따른 열화 정도를 파악 할 수 있는 재료강도의 주곡선을 만들어야 할 것이다. 이와 같은 실험을 하기 위해 열화재의 가속제작방법과 열화치료대책 등에 대해 설명하였다. 앞으로 국내 에서는 열화에 대한 재료강도의 주곡선이 많이 얻어져서 기계 구조물의 수명예측이 정확하게 이루어질 날이 올 것을 기대한다.
