  • 본 논문에서는 비동기 CDMA 시스템에서 다중접속에 의한 간섭을 제거하는 역상관기 중에서 반복 연산을 사용하여 계산량을 개선한 second-order stationary 기반의 반복적 역상관기와 수렴특성에 대하여 이론적으로 분석하고 모의실험을 통하여 성능을 검증하였다. 먼저 반복적 역상관기에서 수렴특성을 결정하는 수렴 인자를 유도하고 가장 빠른 수렴 특성을 보장하는 최적의 수렴상수를 상관행렬의 최대 및 최소 고유값으로 나타낼 수 있음을 증명하였다. 또한 최적의 수렴 상수와 반복회수에 따른 BER이 기존의 역상관기와 비슷한 성능을 가짐을 보였다.

Technology 수렴가능성에 대한 실증적 고찰

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 산업간에 Technology 수렴가능성에 대한 기존 선형(Linearity) 설정 관계식보다 비선형(Nonlinearity) 설정관계식에서 실증분석하는 데 연구목적이 있다. 본 연구목적을 위하여 장기적 시계열자료를 이용하여(1970∼2000), 우리나라 제조업과 총 산업(Grand Total)간에 Technology Gap에 대한 정상성(Stationarity)을 검증함으로써, Technology수렴 가능성을 검토하였다. 본 연구결과는 Technology수렴가설에 대한 두 가지 중요한 실증분석방향을 제공하고 있다. 첫째, 우리나라 산업간에 Technology 수렴가능성은 비선형관계에서 분석해야 한다는 결론을 얻었다. 따라서 우리나라 산업간에 Technology 수렴가능성은 단순 선형관계를 기반으로 할 경우, 설정오류에 따른 Technology 수렴가능성이 성립하지 않을 가능성이 높게 나타날 수 있었다. 둘째, 우리나라 경제의 경우, Technology 수렴가능성에 대한 분석결과는 비선형관계에서 Technology Regime별로 Technology 수렴가능성이 다르게 나타나고 있음으로 실증분석방법론 및 그 결과에 대한 시사점도출에 유의해야 한다.

Convergence in Per Capita CO2 Emission by Income Group (국가별 소득수준에 따른 1인당 CO2 배출량 수렴 분석)

  • This study investigates the convergence in per capita $CO_2$ emission by income group for an unbalanced panel of 152 countries from 1980 to 2013 using beta and sigma convergence model. Absolute beta and sigma convergence differed by $CO_2$ emission reduction policies in each countries. Conditional beta convergence shows that per capita income has a negative effect on growth in per capita $CO_2$ emission. In particular, better-quality institutions and technology accelerated the negative effect of per capita income on the speed of convergence of per capita $CO_2$ emission in high-income countries. For middle-income countries, the growth of income affected the convergence of $CO_2$ emission per capita, but institutional quality has an insignificant impact. On the other hand, improvements in the level of technology have a mitigating effect on the negative impact of income in middle-income and low-income countries, contributing to the increase in $CO_2$ emission.

  • 본 논문에서는 비동기 CDMA 시스템에서 다중 접속 간섭의 영향을 줄이기 위해 제안된 역상관기 중에서 반복연산을 사용하여 계산량을 개선한 반복적 역상관기의 수렴특성에 대하여 분석하였고 이를 모의 실험을 통하여 검증하였다. 반복적 역상관기에서 수렴특성을 결정하는 수렴 인자를 유도하였고, 가장 빠른 수렴 특성을 보장하는 최적의 수렴 상수를 상관행렬의 최대 및 최소 고유값으로 나타낼 수 있음을 증명하였다. 또한 반복 과정의 중간 결과에 대한 최대 오차 범위를 유도하였다.

Hybrid Genetic Operators of Hamming Distance and Fitness for Reducing Premature Convergence (조기수렴 저감을 위한 해밍거리와 적합도의 혼합 유전 연산자)

  • Genetic Algorithms are robust search and optimization techniques but have some problems such as premature convergence and convergence to local extremum. As population diversity converges to low value, the search ability decreases and converges to local extremum but population diversity converges to high value, then the search ability increases and converges to global optimum or genetic algorithm may diverge. To guarantee that genetic algorithms converge to the global optima, the genetic operators should be chosen properly. In this paper, we propose the genetic operators with the hybrid function of the average Hamming distance and the fitness value to maintain the diversity of the GA's population for escaping from the premature convergence. Results of simulation studies verified the effects of the mutation operator for maintaining diversity and the other operators for improving convergence properties as well as the feasibility of using proposed genetic operators on convergence properties to avoid premature convergence and convergence to local extremum.

  • Convergence condition determines performance of iterative learning control (ILC), for example, convergence speed, remaining error, etc. Hence, the performance can be elevated and a feasible set of learning controllers grows if a less conservative condition is obtained. In the frequency domain, the $H_{\infty}$ norm of the transfer function between consecutive errors has been currently used to test convergence of a learning system. However, even if the convergence condition based on the $H_{\infty}$ norm has a clear property about monotonic convergence, it has a few drawbacks, especially in MIMO plants. In this paper, the relation between the condition and the monotonicity of convergence is clarified and a modified convergence condition is found out using a frequency domain Lyapunov equation, which supersedes the conventional one in the frequency domain.

An Empirical Analysis on the Economic Growth Convergence in the East Asian Countries (동아시아 국가의 경제성장 수렴에 대한 실증분석)

  • This paper studies economic growth convergence conditioning on various characteristics of East Asian countries. Our findings suggest that when trade openness is conditioned in addition to human capital and investment, the economic growth rates for East Asian countries converge faster than when human capital and investment alone are considered. In particular, while Northeast Asian countries exhibit absolute economic growth convergence as well as economic growth convergence conditioned on trade openness, Southeast Asian countries show only economic growth convergence conditioned on trade openness. Analysis of policy implications based on the results of the first East Asian countries' high dependence on foreign trade, trade openness in the convergence of economic growth has had a significant positive effect. Second, in order to establish a regional economic integration in East Asia, Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, the country's economic growth is necessary to reduce the gap.

An Analysis on Convergence of Local Public Expenditures in Korea (우리나라 지방재정지출의 수렴 분석)

  • This paper analyzes whether local public expenditures have converged during the 1985-2011 periods in Korea, using the sixteen metropolitan and provincial governments data. We analyze the convergence of per capita real local public expenditures in terms of both static view and dynamic view of convergence. Furthermore, we derive the estimating equation for per capita real local government expenditure growth function from theoretical model based on Skidmore et al.(2004)[23]. The main results from empirical analyses are such that an increase in aged people helped local government expenditures increase. Also, we found that the convergence speed of economic expenditure is greater than that of social welfare expenditure. Similarly the convergence speed of public capital expenditure is greater than that of public consumption expenditure. In the future we had better examine the convergence of local public goods taking into account their congestion rates.

Is the technology in renewable energy converging among countries? : Using the patent data of OECD (재생에너지 분야 국가 간 기술 확산 및 수렴 : OECD 특허 데이터를 이용한 분석)

  • This paper uses patent data of OECD countries in order to investigate if there is converging tendency in renewable energy area. We used the concepts of sigma convergence and beta convergence to measure the convergence. GINI coefficient, HH index are also borrowed from other area of economics. The results show that technology level does not seem to have been converging in this area. Even though the number of patent in relatively less advanced countries has been increased a lot, we could find no evidence that there is the tendency that the gap among the countries have been narrowed. This is quite different from the results of IT industry or other industry since we could find the converging tendency in the data of those industries. Instead, it seems that there is the convergence club among most advance countries in renewable energy area.

Key-factors in the Modified Parallel Type to Convert Toed-in Type Stereoscopy (수렴타입의 스테레오 영상 획득방법을 모사하는 변형평행타입에서의 주요인자의 정의)

  • The representative alignments for taking a stereo image by using a stereoscopic camera are the toed-in and the parallel alignment. In this paper, we tried to find important factors in the process that captures the stereo image by modifying parallel type 3D camera alignment to take the same object information as, for instance, when toed-in type was used. The modified parallel type 3D camera has merits in both types. As a result, three important factors are found by simulation to be inter-camera distance, field of view and convergence angle for both types. And the change of the convergence angle is known to be the most important factor at the stereo fusible area in processing. The effective ranges of these factors to simulate perfectly toed-in type by modified parallel type are strongly dependent on a user's circumstances such as mobile, official, theater and so on. Additionally, the error of the simulation is reduced when the focal length of the stereo camera is short and the convergence angle becomes smaller.
