  • Nowadays live-line work is a general maintenance method in most countries. After 765kV transmission lines constructed, necessity of the live line work is on the rise, due to maintenance problems. During live line working, a line man must wear the conductive clothing for protection from electrical fields and shocks. This paper suggests about design technology and application status of a conductive clothing to live works, before developing the clothing in detail.

  • Environments of electric power industries are fastly changing due to the WTO, opening of the capital market and free trade. Accordingly, it is very important to invest in technical developments for securing international competitive power. But our construction techniques in T/L are insufficient in comparing with the advanced countries. This paper suggests the status and prospect of construction techniques of domestic and foreign countries in T/L, including developing prospects of T/L constriction.

  • Insulators of 154kV T/L have been frequently damaged by fault currents. Arcing horn is a very effective and economic method for protection of insulators from the flashover. We developed arcing horns for 154kV T/L in order to protect insulators from the arc[1]. This paper analyzes the status of insulator failures in 154kV T/L after installation of the arcing horns.

  • Our transmissions are mostly constructed on the mountains and passing over the mountains. The height of transmission lines are generally decided from the trees on the mountains. The height of the transmission lines is very important, because it has an effect on construction and maintenance costs of the transmission lines. We carried out tests for electrical impulse characteristics between trees and transmission lines, and suggested the test results.

  • Wind-induced oscillations are known to cause damage to the conductors and related hardware through fatigue, clashing of the bundled conductors and bolt loosening. Wake-induced oscillations have been known since the advent of bundled conductors. they are caused by aerodynamically unstable forces acting on the leeward conductors in the wake of the windward conductors, In order to control it, spacer dampers are installed in transmission lines with bundled conductors. Spacer damper installation is very important, it can cause damage to the conductors and spaer damper itself. This paper suggests importance of spacer damper installation in bundled conductor systems.

  • Many standards have published for calculating the ampacity of bare overhead conductors. Although these standards use the same basic heat balance concept, they use different approaches to calculate ampacity ratings. This paper looks at the different approaches used to calculate individual heat balance terms, at the overall impact of these terms on the ampacity rating. And this paper is proposed to the selection of proper standard and atmospheric conditions for calculating the ampacity of bare overhead conductors.

  • 기존 가시권 분석에 있어서는 주거지 개발, 도로, 송전선 설치 등에 따른 시각적 영향을 분석하는 연구가 많이 이뤄졌다. 이들은 개발에 따른 시각적 영향을 분석하고 부정적 영향을 최소화시킴을 목표로 하고 있다. 경관이 안공요소의 침입을 수용할 수 있는 정도를 고려하여 각 경관의 수용능력에 따른 개발을 유도함으로써 시각적 환경의 질을 높이고자 하는 것이다. 또한 도심지의 개발로 인하여 중요 문화ㆍ관광자원의 훼손으로 오랫동안 잘 보존되어야할 관광자원에 대한 시각적 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서는 많은 문화ㆍ관광자원을 보유하고 있는 경주시 지역에 대하여 가시권역을 시각화하고 분석하여 보았다. 우선 경주시 지역에 대한 1:25,000 수치지형도 9장을 중첩하여 Arcview 프로그램을 이용하여 등고선만을 추출하였으며, 추출된 등고선도를 가지고 DEM을 생성한 후 Arc/GIS의 Workstation Arc/Info를 이용하여 가시권역을 나타내어 보았다. 이렇게 나타난 가시권역과 문화ㆍ관광지역과의 중첩을 통하여 가시지역의 범위를 분석하여 본 결과 관측점에서의 가시범위가 약 70%정도로 나타났다.
