A Study on Minimum Transmit Power and Interference in ZigBee Transceivers at 2.4GHz in Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (2.4GHz대역 ZigBee 송수신기를 사용한 과학화 전투훈련 시스템에서 최소송신전력과 간섭에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, interference analysis has been performed between RF receiver and transmitters on each soldier for Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System(MILES) which are following ZigBee standard. In order to obtain minimum transmit power without interference, 1% Packet Error Rates(PER) from 14 transmitters attached on a soldier to a receiver are measured with the scenarios for simple transmitting and receiving network configuration and for repeating network configuration. Based on this transmit power, the available distance for interference free among soldiers is simulated using Spectrum Engineering Advanced Monte Carlo Analysis Tool(SEAMCAT). Later scenario gives the benefit of 10dB lower transmit power, smaller and lighter power source, and better activity of trainee.

  • Visible light communication technology, which is a communication using LED lighting, is defined by IEEE 802.15.7 WG and active research is under way. Visible light communication is advantageous not only to avoid interference with existing RF communication but also to provide location based service through accurate positioning by utilizing LOS (Line of Sight) characteristic. Therefore, it is very easy and efficient to locate and track the user's location. In this paper, we implemented a visible light communication transceiver using USB interface for easy application to portable devices. It supports the mobility of mobile devices through internet protocol and showed BER performance of less than $10^{-3}dBm$ at over 1m, which is the height of lighting and smart device during walking.

  • This paper presents a IR-UWB(Impulse Radio Ultra-Wide Band) transceiver circuit for data communication and real time location system. The UWB receiver is designed to OOK(On-Off Keying) modulation for energy detection. The UWB pulse generator is designed by digital logic. And the Gaussian filter is adopted to reject side lobe in transmitter. The measured sensitivity of the receiver is -65 dBm at 4 GHz with 1 Mbps PRF(Pulse Repetition Frequency). And the measured energy efficiency per pulse is 20.6 pJ/bit. The current consumption of the receiver and transmitter including DA is 27.5 mA and 25.5 mA, respectively, at 1.8 V supply.

On the Phase Variation and Implementation of If Module for WLL CDMA System (WLL용 CDMA 시스템 IF 모듈의 구현 및 위상 특성)

  • In this paper, we design and implement a IF(intermediate frequency) module for WLL(wireless local loop) CDMA(code division multiple access) basestation. The implemented IF transceiver is consists of transmitter, receiver and local oscillator. The considered signal bandwidth is 10 MHz and the local carrier frequency is 40 MHz. As test results, the If transmitter output power is -5dBm $\pm3dB$when the baseband input is -10dBm $\pm3dB$, and the IF receiver output power is -10dBm $\pm3dB$when the IF input is -5dBm $\pm3dB$. Also the AGC(automatic gain control) circuit has dynamic range of 9 dB from -7dBm to +2dBm with output power 2dBm. And the group delay characteristic is analyzed by comparing the phase delay from 1 MHz to 5 MHz and the phase distortion is very low. We can conclude that this IF system can be applied to high speed data rate communication system.

The Singular Position Detection Method from the Measured Path Loss Data for the Cellular Network (이동 통신 망에서 측정하여 계산된 경로 손실의 급격한 변동 위치 추출 방법)

  • The path loss data was re-calculated according to the distance between the base station and a mobile station in the mobile telecommunications network. In this paper, the averaged path loss data was plotted with the conventional path loss models(free space, plane earth, Hata model ${\ldots}$). The standard deviations for the 2 Km, 1 Km, 0.5 Km-interval averaged path loss were 2.29 dB, 3.39 dB, 4.75 dB, respectively. Additionally, the derivative values for the 2 Km, 1 Km, 0.5 Km-interval averaged path loss were evaluated to find the positions with more than 1 times or 2times of the standard deviation. The situations with the sharply fluctuated path loss were calculated to 5 positions in the 2 Km interval, to 7 positions in the 1 Km interval, to 19 positions in the 0.5 Km interval, respectively. And, the exact distances between the base station and a mobile station were found with the sharply fluctuated path loss.

  • The intelligent maritime traffic information service provides a service to prevent collisions and stranding of ships based on the location information of ships periodically collected from ship equipment such as LTE-Maritime transceivers and AIS installed on ships. provided in real time. However, the above service may reduce the reliability of ship location information because GPS location information for measuring the ship's location may be cut off during transmission through LTE-Maritime or AIS networks, or phenomena such as location jumps and delays may occur. This study aims to estimate reliable position information to some extent even in an abnormal section through ship position prediction based on the existing received position information using the Kalman filter, which is an optimal estimation filter based on probability.

  • This paper introduces a phased-array single-channel transceiver beamformer IC built using 65nm CMOS technology, covering the 8-16 GHz range and targeting the X and Ku bands for radar and satellite communications. Each signal path in the IC features a low noise amplifier (LNA), power amplifier (PA), phase shifter (PS), and variable gain amplifier (VGA), which allow for phase and gain adjustments essential for beam steering and tapering control in typical beamforming systems. Test results show that the phase-compensated VGA offers a gain range of 15 dB with 0.25 dB increments and an RMS gain error of 0.27 dB. The active vector modulator phase shifter delivers a 360° phase range with 2.8125° steps and an RMS phase error of 3.5°.

무선센서노드를 위한 CMOS ULP Radio 회로 설계 기술 동향

  • 무선센서네트워크를 위한 무선센서노드는 한정된 전력원을 이용하여 수천에서 수만시간의 동작을 가능하게 해야하므로 초저전력 (Ultra Low Power: ULP) 소모가 매우 중요한 설계 요구조건이 된다. 이를 위해 센서노드의 동작 주기(Duty Cycling)를 제어하는 기법이 전체 전력소모를 줄이는 매우 중요한 기술로 사용되고 있다. 회로의 전력 소모 감소를 위한 몇 가지 중요한 기술에는 회로적으로는 전류 재사용기술과 송수선기 구조로는 Super-regenerative 구조와 On-Off Keying 송수신기 구조가 있다. 또한 ULP Radio가 휴면모드에도 Wake-up을 가능하게 하기 위해서는 초저전력 클락 발생기 회로가 1${\mu}W$이하의 전력소모로 구현할 수 있어야 한다. 이러한 사항들을 적절히 고려함으로써 초저전력 CMOS Radio를 구현할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, we have used the 900Mha RF band and produced the transmitter-receivers to measure the distance of moving range of a crane. We selected the analog signal of 450Khz middle frequency band of the RF Baseset module, and the property data of phase response is analysed to estimate the range distance. We have earned the good results from the experiment.

  • In this paper, we investigated ultra high speed wireless communication cell backbone net of city using of wireless communication transceiver for millimeter wave band. A new type of 60GHz wave band wireless transceiver using NRD waveguide. This 60㎓ transceiver has excellent signal's absorption characteristics of oxygen molecule than the other millimeter wave bands. We constructed to wireless networks interval within 500m to 3km on wireless backbone node using 60GHz transceivers, and did it so that city type wireless communication cell backbone networks of 155.52MbpsATM(OC-3) may be possible. Therefore, if use transceiver, it is possible that city type ultra high speed wireless communication cell backbone networks construction of 100Mbps, 155.52Mbps, 622Mbps, 1Gbps, and 1.2Gbps degrees.
