  • This paper presents an effective PPG measurement device in a wrist watch for smart healthcare. PPG can be acquired by measuring absorption of light and PPG measurement device is classified as transmission and reflection type. Reflection type is easy to implement but vulnerable to motion artifact. Moreover, reflection type must use 2 hands at once if the device is implemeted in a wrist watch. This paper describes the implementation of robust transmission type PPG measurement device by using previous developed reflection type device. PPG sensor is clip type and can be separated from the device so that the influence of motion artifact can be reduced. The proposed device can transmit the measured signal in real-time and is useful for smart healthcare. For evaluation of the proposed device, PPG signals are compared with reflection type in the same condition. The results show that the proposed device has 20% improvement in performance.

  • The X-ray device used for medical treatment is classified into fixed type that is used by installing at the location with the stable power supply and mobile type that can be taken by moving the X-ray device to the location where a patient is. Mobile X-ray device which is typically used in the mobile type of X-ray can be used very usefully beyond the space restriction. However, due to its difficulty to generate high-voltage, it is mainly applied to take hand and foot shootings which only need low output power. In this study, by designing and producing the large volume of mobile X-ray device which doesn't have the limitations on diagnostic areas of the body, the operating characteristics of device according to the loading change was identified.

  • Intraoral filled type of orthodontic appliance can cause reversible or irreversible damages such as gingivitis, periodontitis, enamel decalcification, dental caries, root resorption, and pulpal changes. Such adverse effects are brought by increase in dental plaque as well as oral flora. Such an increase causes gingival inflammation and enamel decalcification. The purpose of this study is to get klowledge on initial changes in dental plaque, gingivitis, and enamel decalcification after bonding fixed orthodontic appliances according to time flow, gender, and sides(right/left) of premolar region. For control group, 48 students of dental college, Yonsei university(26 males, 22 females) were chosen; for experimental group, 73 orthodontic patients(36 males, 37 females) who will be treated with fixed appliances were chosen. All the subjects had no systemic disease, juvenile periodontitis and all the females had passed their ,menarche. Tooth brushing instruction was given to all the subjects prior to the experiment. For control group, plaque index, gingival index, and decalcification index were measured twice at 3 weeks interval ; for experimental group, the same was done prior to, 3, 6, 9 weeks after bonding fixed appliances. The following results were obtained: 1. In plaque index 3 weeks after placement of appliances, and it showed gradual increase afterwards. 2. In gingival index3 weeks after placement of appliances, and afterwards it showed increase at a faster rate than plaque index. 3. Enamel decalcification began to show between 3 and 6 weeks after bonding fixed appliances. Decalcification index began to increase 6 weeks after appliance placement, but there was no statistical significance. 4. When the comparison was made between two sides of premolar region, the right side showed greater index in plaque and gingival index of experimental group.

  • Several researches in 3D interaction have identified and extensively studied the four basic interaction tasks for 3D/VE applications, namely, navigation, selection, manipulation and system control. These interaction schemes in the real world or VE are generally suitable for interacting with small graspable objects. In some applications, it is important to duplicate real world behavior. For example, a training system for a manual assembly task and usability verification system benefits from a realistic system for object grasping and manipulation. However, it is not appropriate to instantly apply these interaction technologies to such applications, because the quality of simulated grasping and manipulation has been limited. Therefore, we introduce the intuitive and natural 3D interaction haptic interface supporting high-precision hand operations and realistic haptic feedback.

  • Stroke patients should exercise for the rehabilitation of their fingers, because they can't use their hand and fingers. Their hand and fingers are fixed on the hand fixing system for rehabilitation exercise of them. But the hands clenched the fist of stroke patients are difficult to fix on it. In order to fix the hands and fingers, their palms are pressed with pressing bars and are controlled by reference force. The fixing system must have a five-axis force/moment sensor to force control. In this paper, the five-axis force/moment sensor was developed for the hand fixing system of finger-rehabilitation exercising system. The structure of the five-axis force/moment sensor was modeled, and designed using finite element method(FEM). And it was fabricated with strain-gages, then, its characteristic test was carried out. As a result, the maximum interference error is less than 2.43 %.

  • In this study, seismic performance of geotechnical seismic isolation system capable of primary seismic isolation in the ground was evaluated. 1-G shaking table test was used to assess the performance of Teflon or steel slag as geotechnical seismic isolation systems installed beneath superstructure foundation. Response acceleration and response spectra were analyzed considering different input motions. The results were compared with those of fixed foundation structure without seismic isolation system. The steel slag-type seismic isolation system showed significant reduction in acceleration. The teflon-type seismic isolation system did not show significant effects on acceleration reduction in low-to-moderate seismicity condition, but it did show better effects in case of strong seismic condition. As input motion was transferred to the upper mass, the response spectrum of the fixed foundation structure was amplified in the short period range. In contrast, the response spectrum of the structure with seismic isolation using teflon or steel slag amplified in the long period range. It is found that the change of periodicity and the friction characteristics between isolation materials and foundations affected acceleration reduction.

풍력발전기의 대표적인 타입 중에 DFIG(Doubly-Fed Induction Generation)는 MSC와 GSC라는 2가지 요소로 구성된다.
