  • Tongue acupuncture is not only a body acupuncture treatment for the tongue but also a new microacupuncture treatment. Tongue acupuncture is a very promising treatment from a diagnostic and therapeutic point of view. According to several studies, Guan's tongue acupuncture and tri-tongue acupuncture are frequently used. Tongue acupuncture can be used for dysphagia, dysarthria, aphasia, insomnia, autism spectrum disorder, burning mouth syndrome, and cerebral palsy.

Dynamic Extinction of Solid Propellants by Depressurization of Combustion Chamber (연소실 압력 강하에 의한 고체 추진제의 동적 소화)

  • Dynamic extinction of solid propellants subjected to rapid pressure drop was studied with the aid of energy equation of condensed phase and flame model in gas phase. It is found that the total residence time($\tau_\gamma$) which measures the residing time of fuel in the reaction zone may play a crucial role in determining the dynamic response of the combustuion to extinction. Residence time was modeled by various combinations of diffusion and chemocal kinetic time scale. Effect of pressure history coupled with chamber volume on the extinction response was also performed and was found that dynamic extinction is more susceptible in a confined chamber than in open geometry. And, dynamic extinction was revealed to be affected profoundly by diffysion time scale rather than chemical kinetic time scale.

  • The most important thing for NOVEC gas fire extinguishing equipment is to release NOVEC gas, which contained in the extinguishing container, to the safety section by the time appointed. For this matter, it is significant to decide arrangement and size of the proper piping equipment. This study has developed the design methodology of NOVEC gas fire extinguishing equipment in use of pipe network analysis techniques. Based on the design methodology, each design coefficient is chosen. It is found that the calculated result, which is 6.498 seconds, has been counted within the 10 seconds limit, which is fairly satisfied with extinguishing releasing time based on the developed methodology. At that time, the pressure loss is 21.09bar.

  • Extinguishment of a burning solid propellant is difficult, however, dynamic extinction can be induced by fast depressurization in combustion chamber. This paper describes experimental results for the characteristics of extinguishment for composite solid propellants by rapid depressurization. For various composition of solid propellants, depressurization ratio which can induce extinguishment of combustion was obtained using experimental apparatus with rupture disk. Experimental results showed that particle size of oxidizer, mixing ratio of oxidizers with different particle size and contents of metal fuel can affect on the characteristics extinguishement for solid propellant.

  • Current]y, the lack of equipments for the medical practice and education made it impossible for the people in medical institution to carry out suitable experiments for observing human bodies. In this paper, the authors embodied three dimensional images and moving pictures for the human skeletal structure, digestive organs and their processes over the internet framework. The three dimensional images and moving picture made it possible for the general people as well as the specialists to observe and obtain informations with regard to the human body. Especially, the authors realized a framework for visualizing the human bodies in three dimensional images, via which a detailed and realistic architecture for the human body and its organs can be obtained. The system developed in this Paper can be used in the practice and education of the people engaged in medical fields.

  • 포소화약제는 물과 혼합시, 물의 표면장력을 저하시켜 공기와 혼합 교반을 통하여 거품을 발생시키는 약제로 소화에 이용되는 소화용수의 효율적 이용을 위하여 이용된다. 특히, 유류화재에 사용시 유면을 거품으로 덮어 질식소화에 적합한 특성을 가지고 있다. 포소화약제는 발포 방식에 따라 저발포, 중발포, 고발포로 나누어지는데 국내의 포소화약제 기준에는 저발포와 고발포의 2가지만을 규정하고 있어, 소화에 더욱 효과적이라 평가되는 중발포 소화기의 이용이 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 휴대용 중발포 소화기를 이용하여 발포실험과 소화실험을 실시하고, 저발포, 중발포, 고발포의 특성을 분석하였다. 결과로 3% 농도로 중발포 소화기 이용시 26.1배의 팽창률을 보였으며, 20단위 화재모형을 32초에 소화시킴으로써 중발포 소화기의 발포, 소화능력을 검증하였다.

A Study on Corrosion of the HFC-125 fire extinguishing agent for Metal and Non-Ferrous Metal (HFC-125 소화약제의 금속 및 비철금속 부식성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 오존층 파괴 및 지구 온난화에 악영향을 미치는 할로겐화합물 소화약제를 대체하여 개발된 청정소화약제인 할로겐화합물 청정소화약제(Halocarbon clean agent)의 열분해 생성물(thermal decomposition products)의 영향에 평가하고자 한다. 이를 위해 할로겐화합물 청정소화약제인 HFC-125가 화원 크기의 변화에 따른 열분해 생성물의 미치는 영향을 측정하기 위해 소화시험을 실시하였고 금속(철), 비철금속(구리), 유리 시편의 부식성과 전자부품(SD-Card) 작동여부를 평가 하였다. 금속 및 비철금속 시편의 부식성을 측정하기 위해 디지털 카메라를 통해 이미지를 촬영하고 그래픽 편집 소프트웨어를 이용하여 채도(saturation)를 측정하여 부식성의 정도를 분석하였다. 금속, 비철금소, 유리 시편의 부식성 분석 결과, 화원의 크기가 증가할수록 금속 및 비철금속의 부식성이 증가하였다. 즉, 화원의 크기(fire size)에 따라 열분해 생성물질도 증가하여 금속 및 비철금속의 부식을 증가시키는 것으로 사료된다.

A Patient with Locally Advanced Pancreatic Cancer Who Refused Additional Chemotherapy (추가 항암 치료를 거부하는 국소 진행형 췌장암 환자 1례)

  • The prognosis for pancreatic cancer patient is very poor. Patients with locally advanced disease have a median survival time of 8 to 12 months, and patients with distant metastases have significantly worse outcomes, with a median survival time of only 3 to 6 months. Approximately 30% of patients with pancreatic cancer present with locally advanced disease defined as unresectable pancreatic cancer without evidence of distant metastatic disease. Primary treatment options in locally advanced pancreatic cancer include chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Here, we reported a patient with locally advanced pancreatic cancer who does not want further chemotherapy because of chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting. Irreversible electroporation was performed. Irreversible electroporation was well tolerated in this case, and may be a therapeutic modality for selected patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer.

Comparison of Ileal and Fecal Digestibility of Canola Meal and Wheat Bran in Ducks (채종박과 밀기울에 대한 오리의 분과 회장 소화율 비교)

  • This work was carried out to evaluate the feces and ileal digestibility of canola meal and wheat bran in ducks. Ninety Pekin ducks (6-week-old, average 3.4 kg) were divided into three treatments (6 replications/treatment, 5 birds/replication) by feedstuffs (basal diet, canola meal, and wheat bran) and were fed on these diets in individual metabolic cages for one week. After one week, the samples for analysis were collected from feces and ileum. On comparison of treatments and collected sites, the feces digestibility of basal diet was the highest among treatments on chemical compositions except crude protein and crude fat and ileal digestibility of canola meal was the lowest (P<0.01). On comparison of treatments, the digestibility of basal diet was higher and that of wheat bran was lower when compared to other treatments (P<0.05). The feces digestibility was lower than the ileal digestibility in crude protein (P<0.05) and crude fat (P<0.01). The digestibility of amino acid was the highest at feces of control group among treatments (P<0.01). No significant difference was detected in terms of digestibility of isoleucine, leucine and phenylalanine among essential amino acids, and alanine, glycine and tyrosine among non-essential amino acids between control and wheat bran, and wheat bran and canola meal. However amino acid digestibility was higher in control group when compared to canola meal group (P<0.05). Other amino acid digestibilities were not significantly differ by treatments. These results may provide the basic data on amino acid digestibility of ducks to evaluate feedstuffs and to formulate optimum diet for commercial Pekin duck.

Evaluation of Apparent Ileal and Standardized Ileal Digestibility of Amino Acid in Feed Ingredients to Alterate the Protein Sources for Weaned Pigs (자돈에서 대체 단백질 원료사료의 외관상 회장 아미노산 소화율 및 표준 회장 아미노산 소화율 평가)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the apparent ileal digestibility (AID) and standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of amino acids in feed ingredients for use as protein sources in swine feed. A total of six weaned pigs (Landrace×Yorkshire×Duroc, 14.4±0.35kg) surgically fitted with a T-cannula in the distal ileum were used in this study and were randomly allotted to a 6×6 Latin square design. Corn germ, corn gluten meal (CM), corn gluten feed (CF), chlorella (CH), and lysine co-product (LC) were used for evaluation, and the experimental periods of each ingredient included 5 days for adaptation and 2 days for collection. CH and LC had significantly higher (p<0.05) AID of lysine (79.1% and 78.7%, respectively). The AID of methionine was not significantly different among all feed ingredients. The AID of threonine of CH was significantly higher (p<0.05) than those of other ingredients and was 81.8%. CH, LC, and CM had higher (p<0.05) SID of lysine (80.4%, 79.5%, and 77.0%, respectively). The SID of methionine showed no difference among all treatments. CH showed 81.8% SID of threonine, which was significantly higher (p<0.05) than LC and CF. In conclusion, chlorella and lysine co-product showed the greatest AID and SID of amino acids, which makes them potentially valuable feed ingredients for use as protein sources in swine feed.
