Development of Program Outcomes Evaluation System for Multidisciplinary Major in Design and Software (디자인과 소프트웨어 융합전공의 프로그램 학습성과 평가체계 개발)

  • In recent years, the design has formed and operated convergence education in conjunction with many other academic fields, and ABEEK also encourages the participation of convergence engineering programs. The purpose of this study is to require design and software convergence major to operate program that accord engineering education certification criteria to develop a program outcomes evaluation system and examine its validity. The program outcomes evaluation system was developed in accordance with development research methods and procedures. As a result, developed evaluation system program outcomes for convergence-based program outcomes: convergence ability, creative thinking ability, entrepreneur ability, and design ability. Finally, it revised and supplemented them through expert validity examine. Expert validity review included 9 experts in engineering, IT engineering, education technology, and design. The validity, usefulness, intelligibility, universality, and explanatory power of the evaluation system were reviewed. The results of this study are expected to provide practical tools for operating ABBEK of convergence programs between design and engineering.

Design and Implementation of an Automated Building System for Cyber School (사이버스쿨 자동 구축 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • Recently, Linux operating system is used for web server environment, but to build web server applications need to be operated many related softwares, such as installing web server, web and database system integration and programming for script language. Most of schools in korea do not have computer specialist for building web server or cyber school. In this paper, we describe design and implementation of an automated building system(AnyBuilder) for cyber school. AnyBuilder build web-based cyber school system, just clicking a few of button and some commands. Especially, it has two phases to build cyber school, one is to generate empty web-based cyber school and the other is to upload contents of lecture.

Development of English Teaching Model Applying Artificial Intelligence through Maker Education (인공지능활용 메이커교육 프로그램 적용 영어 교수학습 모형 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to demonstrate how EFL learners can overcome the limitations of traditional classes and practice communication through the learning activity model. As a research method, it was conducted from March to June 2019 to develop and derive strategies and guidelines through model development, validation, and application. After two validity tests, the model was applied to the experimental group, resulting in an increase of self-direction, engagement, problem-solving, and participation. Moreover the post results showed significant results in all fields, the usefulness of this model was confirmed. However, continuous follow-up research is needed, including the development of software that can easily apply AI related to English learning to classes, and the presentation of convergence activities with more systematic maker education in learning activities.

The Meta-Analysis on Effects of Arduino-Based Education for Secondary School Students (중·고등학생 대상 아두이노 활용 교육의 효과에 대한 메타분석)

  • This study aimed to analyze effects of Arduino-based education for secondary school students through meta-analysis. Prior studies including journal articles and theses were selected through rigorous review. The researcher calculated the overall effect size and effect sizes by categorical variables. Research findings are as follows. First, the total effect size of Arduino-based education was 0.537. Second, the effect sizes by type of dependent variables were the affective domain 0.849 and the cognitive domain 0.479. Third, the effect sizes by school level were the middle school 0.796 and the high school 0.474. Fourth, the effect sizes by subject areas were music 1.255, science 0.562, technology 0.443, and information 0.429. Fifth, the effect sizes by types of programming were the graphic-based programming 0.543 and the text-based programming 0.376.

  • This study developed an educational program to help students athletes explore their career options. In preparation for when students in the athletic department do not succeed in sports, the need for career guidance in other fields of our society was emphasized, existing research was analyzed, requirements were identified, and a study plan was designed. Based on this, it was established a career exploration education program for records management system development in a step-by-step. Referring to previous research on career guidance in elementary, middle, and high schools, the study was conducted in the following 4 stages: analysis, development, desingn, application. In addition, students in the athletics department were able to learn more with interest by developing software related to their field. It is expected that this studyresearchwill contribute to eht divesification of research on career guidance for student athletes.

Design and Implementation of a CORBA/JMF-based Audio/Video Stream System (CORBA/JMF 기반 오디오/비디오 스트림 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • Recently advances in high-speed networks and multimedia computer technologies allow new types of multimedia applications to manipulate large volumes of multimedia data. However, in the real time and/or the heterogeneous data transmissions, there are many difficulties such as network transmission delay, the implementation difficulties, and so on. To solve these problems, in this paper, we extend the method of the multimedia service design which is proposed by OMG. To do this, we suggest an efficient real time audio/video stream framework, called Smart Explorer, based un CORBA and JMF Java Media API. And we separate the transmission path of control data from that of media data and use RTP/RTCP protocol for efficient real time audio/video transmission. Also we show the appropriate implementation of the audio/video stream system based on our suggested framework Smart Explorer. In the future, we expect our audio/video stream system to be applied to the real time communication software such as broadcasting, distance learning, and video conferencing.

  • This study attempts to identify the influence factors on the numbers of visitors and reference room users of public libraries through log-log multiple regression models, using the Korean National Libraries Statistical Data 2018. The fact found is summarized as follows; Even though books collection and seating capacities might be the most important factors in attraction of visitors and reference room users to public libraries in the past when the storage and propagation of knowledge and information was the top function of public libraries, very various and compound factors such as cultural or lifetime education programs, library operation, and user activities have an effect on inducing people to visit and use public libraries at present. This means that these days, public libraries are being transformed into some kinds of comprehensive cultural center where software elements such as cultural programs, user education, events, budget, membership, opening days, building style and age, and group activities rather than hardware elements such as books, literature material, and facilities constitute their essential parts in connection with visitor and user induction.

A Study on the Development and Evaluation of Partial Design Project for Computer Network Design Course Utilizing Software Simulator (소프트웨어 시뮬레이터를 활용한 네트워크설계 교과목의 요소설계 과제개발 및 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Normally, people think the results of engineering design project can be seen and be touched, however, it's not easy to develop such design subjects at IT related program. This matter turns into an initiative of Seoul Accord corresponding to the Washington Accord. In this paper, an engineering design project is developed from the lecture course that can hardly develop a touchable project due to the lack of expanse or the own characteristics of the course in the IT related program that follows the Washington Accord. An open-ended design project with the pre-defined design components and realistic constraints is developed for the Computer Network Design course. Each team consisted of 2 or 3 students performs the project for more than 5 weeks utilizing a software simulator, the Packet Tracer. In order to analyze the effectiveness, we have used various evaluation tools such as final presentation, peer evaluation, survey results, and mid/final exams. We concluded that the hard and soft skills of students have been improved considerably through the project.

A Study on the Humanities-based Preliminary University Model : Focused on the P University (인문학 기반 예비대학 모델 연구: P 대학 사례를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to design a humanities model for preliminary universities using an online platform to develop and expand humanities thinking of preliminary university students. P University Expert Focus Group Interview and student surveys are conducted, and based on the analysis results, a preliminary university model suitable for the humanities field is proposed. Expert FGI suggested the necessity of human resources education to build an online platform-based preliminary university model and improve humanities capabilities. As a result of the student survey, it was found that a majority of the respondents had high interest in humanities and recognized the need for a humanities preliminary university. This study proposes a humanities-based preliminary university model that enables interactive communication in virtual space using the cross-platform Photo Server. The implication of this study is that it contributes to strengthening the humanities capabilities of preliminary university students by presenting an online platform preliminary university model that can respond to changes in the external environment. Since this study has a limitation in that it does not present examples of preliminary universities, it is necessary to verify the educational effect of platform-based ppreliminary university management in the future.

  • This paper reviews the topic of GIS, the academic setting of GIS, GIS model curricula and the possibility GIS education in Korea. The topics which might be included in a science of geographic information consist of data collection and measurement, data capture, spatial statistics, data modeling and theories of spatial data, data structures, algorithms and processes, display, analytical tools, institutional, managerial and ethical issues. The problems in teaching a course on GIS in higher education are reviewed. Because of their technological, integrative, and rapidly changing nature, GIS pose major challenges to their education system which it is ill equipped to meet. In higher education a number of initiatives have been taken to provide education about and training with, GIS. The possible GIS curricula are suggested. These curricula are divided into 3 major sections, relating GIS context, technical issues and application issues. The prospects of GIS appears lo depend largely upon the future cooperation of academia, government, and industry
