The purpose of this study was to create and validate Scale of Resilience to Burnout and Scale of Burnout Risk for social workers in medical settings. For the purpose, instrument development model, a kind of mixed methods research was used. In the first phase, six dimensions of resilience(: professional competency, accomplishment and worthwhileness, firm belief and value about their profession, good teamwork, support by their agency, and individual resources) and six dimensions of risk to burnout(: dissatisfaction with organizational condition, interpersonal stress among team members, organizational conflict, work related stress, deficiency of professionalism, and individual stress) were suggested thorough the preceding papers with qualitative approaches. The second phase involved analysis of a survey of 185 participants that appeared to validate the dimensions of the measures. The construct validity and reliability of each measure were tested. And it was founded that there were its own factors in each concept, although resilience to burnout related negatively to burnout risk. The results of this study suggest mixed methods research is useful to develop measures reflecting voices in the social work field.
The purpose of this study is to suggest some implications for prevention and manage burnout of workers in community welfare centers for the elderly. To conduct this purpose, this study examine how much effect burnout risk, burnout resilience and burnout are they have, it will explain whether resilience works to mediate between burnout risk and burnout. The result of analysis on the study as follow: 1) burnout risk has positive(+) effects on burnout 2) burnout risk has negative(-) effects on burnout resilience 3) burnout resilience has negative (-) effects on burnout. These results were based on some suggestions.
The purpose of this study was to assess the level of resilience to burnout and work satisfaction of hospice volunteers. Methods: Participants included 235 regular volunteers at hospice facilities of two university hospitals and four general hospitals located in Busan. The study instruments were the scale of resilience to burnout and work satisfaction. The scale of resilience to burnout consisted of six dimensions (professional competency, accomplishment and worthiness, firm belief and value about their profession, good teamwork, support by their agency, and individual resources) and 31 items which were rated on a 5-point Likert scale, whereas the scale of work satisfaction consisted of 6 items which were rated on a 5-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Tukey and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: The mean score of resilience to burnout and work satisfaction of participants were 3.59 and 3.69, respectively. The highest and lowest scores of resilience to burnout were individual resources (3.81) and accomplishment and worthiness (3.36). There were significant differences in resilience to burnout scores, depending on religion, health status, type of hospice facilities, and period of volunteer experience. There were significant differences in work satisfaction scores, depending on gender, religion, education level, health status, and type of hospice facilities. Conclusions: Continuous education and efficient management need to be developed to improve the level of resilience to burnout and work satisfaction of hospice volunteers.

The objective of this study is to examine the influence of social support and ego-resilience on the burnout of infant teachers. 200 teachers from a children's day care center located in Jeju Island were selected as the subjects, with whom a survey was conducted using the criteria of social support, ego-resilience, and burnout. The data was analyzed by correlation and hierarchical analysis using the SPSS 18.0 program. The results were as follows. Firstly, the teachers' exhaustion level was low, whereas their ego-resilience level was high. Secondly, the higher their social support and ego-resilience were, the lower their exhaustion level became. Finally, in the review of the influence of social support and ego-resilience on exhaustion, ego-resilience explained more than social support. This finding suggests that teachers' ego-resilience and social support are the key factors affecting burnout. To reduce burnout, the development of educational programs to enhance the teachers' ego-resilience and social support is strongly recommended.
The purpose of this study is to develop academic resilience scale for gifted youth. We extracted the pilot questionnaire of 101 items from open-ended questions with 178 scientifically gifted students and literature review. Item analysis and exploratory factor analysis were also carried out with data of 240 gifted youth. Finally, 11 factors from which 42 items were extracted and validated through the confirmatory factor analysis involving 444 gifted youth throughout the nation. The names of the extracted factors were sense of purpose, self-understanding, educational aspirations, academic self-regulation, task commitment, attribution for success (ability), attribution for success (effort), the interpersonal relationship (friend), the interpersonal relationship (parent), the interpersonal relationship(teacher), and optimism. The results show that all of the path coefficient and construct reliability, AVE (Average Variance Extracted), and coefficient of determination were all acceptable. The result of the study indicated that Academic Resilience Scale for Gifted Youth was positively and significantly correlated with School Adaptation Scale and Resilience Scale. However it was negatively correlated with Academic Burnout Scale, and it was statistically significant. Thus, Academic Resilience Scale for Gifted Youth demonstrated satisfactory internal validity and external validity. The results of the present study suggests theoretical and practical implications of the newly developed Academic Resilience Scale for Gifted Youth.
This study examined the burnout intermediates between Fire officials' job stress and Ego-resilience. The objective of this study is to suggest a policy that improves Fire officials' Ego-resilience. This survey was given to 365 fire officials in northern Gyeonggi-do region and the data was analyzed by correlation analysis and regression analysis using SPPS 22.0. The hypothesis is the Fire officials' burnout would be related to Ego-resilience and the effect on Fire officials' job stress regarding Ego-resilience is associated with burnout. The results of the study are that unstable work and inadequate reward affect the measure of burnout, which manifests as sarcasm and job efficacy and reduces the Fire officials' Ego-resilience that results in a positive pointing of the future, emotion control and interest. The meaning of policy is as follows: First, Fire officials need to be given confidence in their work stability. Second, they have to receive social or financial rewards. Third, they require a continuous supporting policy that solves their tension, physical and mental fatigue. Finally, developing diverse educational programs will be needed to promote their Ego-resilience.

This study was conducted to investigate the factors affecting depression in elementary school teachers. The research design was a descriptive study. Methods:Data were collected by questionnaires from 283 elementary school teachers. Data were analyzed using a t-test, ANOVA, a $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The mean scores were 2.44, 3.07 and 3.68 out of 5 on Likert scales for burnout, job stress and ego-resiliency, respectively. The mean scores were 1.47 and 2.95 out of 4 on Likert scales for items of depression and job satisfaction, respectively. Teaching experience and class size affected depression significantly. There was a positive correlation between depression and burnout(r=0.465, p<.001), and between depression and job stress(r =.220, p<.001),while a negative correlation was observed between depression and job satisfaction(r=-.249, p<.001), and depression and ego-resiliency(r=-.643, p<.001). Multiple regression analysis showed that ego-resiliency(${\beta}=0.639$), job satisfaction(${\beta}=.141$), burnout(${\beta}=.094$), and job stress(${\beta}=.067$) affected depression in order and the four research variables led to a 42.7% prediction for depression among elementary school teachers. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, a systematic plan for decreasing job stress and increasing eco-resilience is needed to improve depression among elementary school teachers.

This study was conducted as a descriptive study with the aim of identifying the effects of clinical nurses' resilience and social problem solving abilities on burnout. Data collection for the study was carried out between May $30^{th}$ and June $19^{th}$, 2013 by surveying 192 clinical nurses working in university medical centers and general hospitals located in D city. Measures were subjects' resiliency, social problem solving abilities, and burnout. For the analysis of the data, the statistical methods of frequency, mean and standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis were employed. When the category of burnout was analyzed by general features, placement in a desired department and size of hospital, there were significant differences. Burnout correlated negatively with resilience and social problem solving abilities. Factors affecting clinical nurses' burnout were identified in the order of resilience, size of hospital, social problem solving abilities, and placement in a desired department and the explanatory power was 43.1%. The findings of the study indicate that in order to decrease clinical nurses' burnout, their resilience and social problem solving abilities have to be enhanced.
Objectives: Our study aimed to investigate the relationship between the anxiety at first year and chronotype and sleep quality at third year in medical students. We also investigated the association between sleep quality, chronotype, depression and resilience at third year. Methods: Fifty two medical students (36 males, 69%, aged 21 ± 0.93) in first year, and forty four medical students (31 males, 70.5%, aged 23.05 ± 0.99) at third year answered Beck Depression Inventory 2, Beck anxiety inventory, Insomnia severity index-K, Composite scale of morningness and Conner-Davidson Resilience scale-10. Multiple linear regression analysises were performed to identify predictors of chronotype, sleep quality and resilience. Results: Higher anxiety (β = -0.434, p = 0.006) at first year was significant predictor of eveningness at third year, while lower anxiety score (β = 0.606, p < 0.001) at first year was significant predictor of sleep quality at third year. Lower sleep quality (β = -0.314, p = 0.042) and eveningness (β = 0.315, p = 0.041) were associated with low resilience at third year. Also, Lesser depression (β = -0.717, p < 0.001) was associated with higher resilience at third year. Conclusion: Our study showed that higher anxiety in first year had significantly related with eveningness and poor sleep quality at third year. In addition, higher sleep quality, morningness and less depression had significantly associated with better resilience at third year.
