Prediction of Isolation Performance of Multi-Layered Sound Barrier System Using the Sound Pressure Radiated by Point Impact (점가진력에 의해 방사된 읍압을 이용한 다중 적층 흡차음 시스템의 차음 성능 예측)

  • A modeling is developed to predict the isolation performance of sound barrier systems under the sound pressure radiated from excited by point impact. The predicted results are compared with the measured results obtained by using APAMAT II. This instrument provides a combination of structure-borne noise and air-borne noise, which corresponds to rolling noise, by applying the excitation system projected steel balls against the steel sheet.

  • This paper presents the characteristics of the radial vibration of cylindrical piezoelectric transducers. The differential equations of piezoelectric radial motion have been derived in terms of the radial displacement and electric potential, which are functions of the radial and axial coordinates. Applying mechanical and electrical boundary conditions has yielded the characteristic equation of radial vibration. Numerical results of the natural frequencies have been compared with the experimental observations reported earlier for the transducers of several sizes, and have shown a good agreement for the fundamental mode. The paper discusses the dependence of the natural frequencies on the radius and thickness of the piezoelectric cylinders and the difference between Piezoelectric and elastic resonances

  • The transfer function method is a widely used in the analysis of underwater radiated noise of ships because it is simple to implement and gives a simple way in the design stage requiring trade-off studies on various kinds of noise sources. In this study, a framework is implemented based on the transfer function method. The framework is interfaced to a software providing transfer functions of hull force to underwater radiated noise. The transfer function-based underwater radiated noise analysis approach is reviewed and the implemented framework structure is described. As an example, a numerical calculation of a virtual ship is carried out and its results are investigated in terms of applicability to real ship design project.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the dynamic characteristics of a motor-die in washing machine and provide quantitative design information needed for reduction of radiated sound from the motor-die. To perform the design analysis, dynamic characteristics are identified by motor-die modeling and the availability of model is verified by experimental modal analysis. Numerical approach using MSC/NASTRAN and SYSNOISE predicted sound attenuation effects according to the change of design parameters, such as thickness, concentrated mass and rib. The numerical results due to the rib attachment showed the significant noise attenuation effects over 15 dB in the frequency range of 450∼700 Hz.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a prediction model for evaluating heavy-weight floor impact sounds in a test building. Three rooms in the test building (slab thickness In and 240mm), which consist of frame concrete structures were tested and modeled. First, the SPL distribution in the receiving room was analyzed by measuring SPL at 90 positions using a bang machine. Then, a vibration model using finite element method is proposed considering the material properties and boundary conditions. In addition, the result of transient analysis was compared with field measurements using a standard heavy-weight impact source. Through a vibro-acoustic simulation program, an acoustic model evaluating the building elements (reflected wall, nor, window and door) was proposed. Finally, validation of the prediction model was conducted by vibro-acoustic analysis with field measurements of noise radiation characteristics in receiving rooms.

  • This paper presents a design of the directional radiation pattern by using the structural-acoustic interaction. For this purpose, prediction of the pressure distribution of the field points and radiation pattern of the structural-acoustic coupling system is shown. In order to get a strong coupling, coupled system that has a finite space and a semi-infinite space separated by two flexible walls and an opening is selected. A volume interaction can be occurred in structure boundary and a pressure interaction can be happened in the opening boundary. The coupled system is maximized the radiation power on the main axis and minimized the side lobe level.

  • Acoustic intensity method is applied to a 4-cylinder gasoline engine in order to identify the noise sources and the response characteristics. Acoustic intensity is analyzed by 1/3 octave band filter for each center frequency. Radiational characteristics of acoustic intensity at overall and the maximum intensity level are represented by using the contour and three-dimensional plot. It is verified that this method is effective to the assessment of engine noise. It can be found that the maximum intensity is radiated from the front side of the engine under idling condition and the right side of it under 2, 000 rpm running with no loading condition at overall level, and also that the maximum intensity is radiated from the oil pan and the intake and exhaust manifold at the center frequency of 100 Hz.

  • 선박의 수중방사소음은 다양한 기계류나 추진기 혹은 선체와 유체간의 상호 작용으로 인하여 여러 형태의 특성신호로 나타나게 된다. 이는 선박의 운용조건, 장비 회전특성 및 내부구조에 따라 스펙트럼상에 상이한 주파수로 확인됨은 물론, 신호의 출현 형태에도 다양성을 보이고 있다. 일반적으로 선박소음은 속력 종속적인 추진 계통 성분과 비종속적인 보기류 신호로 구분되나 다수의 신호성분이 혼재되어 발생기원을 분류하는 것은 복잡한 과정을 거쳐야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 점을 해결하기 위해 선박의 Tonal성 신호를 자동으로 탐지하고 분류하기 위해 규준화된 스펙트로그램 상에서 연속되는 신호에 가중치를 주어 지속성 신호여부를 판별한 후에 정해진 임계치를 초과하는 성분을 Tonal로 선정하였다. 선정된 Tonal에 대해 주파수선의 대역특성 및 시간 변동성에 대한 패턴인식 방법을 적용하여 Tonal의 발생기원이 속력 종속/비종속적인지를 자동으로 판별하는 알고리즘의 유용성에 대한 결과를 기술하였다.

The Study of Improvement of the Void Slab Applying the Impedance Method (임피던스법을 이용한 보이드 슬라브의 개선방안에 관한 연구)

  • In apartment buildings, floor-impact sound has been regarded as the major source that causes complaints from residents. It is mainly due to the use of light-weight structures and the lack of researches in terms of floor-impact sound. The purposes of this study are analyzing the characteristics of vibration response and sound radiation of 12type void slabs in the improvements void slab by impedance method and finding the fittest improvements void slab on the 12type void slab. The main results of this study are summarized as below: (1) In the $\frac{1}{3}$ octave band level of sound radiation, $\frac{1}{3}$ octave band levels, measured from four-divided improvement void slab(No.8) and eight-divided improvement void slab(No.12), are 10~25 dB lower than that of standard void slab(No.1) in the 1250 Hz. Especially, eight-divided improvement void slab(No.12) is the best void slab in terms of radiation efficiency of sound level. (2) In the correlation relation of acceleration and sound radiation, standard void slab(No.1), four-divided improvement void slab(No.8), SK standard four-hole void slab(No.10), and eight-divided improvement void slab(No.12) are positive correlation relation.
