The present study surveyed 225 undergraduates to examine their social media use behaviors and their perceptions of usefulness, trustworthiness, and privacy of social media for seeking and sharing health information. 151 respondents reported using social media for health information while 74 reported not using it for health matters. Results show that the most popular medium were social Q&As, followed by blogs and social networking sites. Age, gender, school year, and the presence of a health problem were associated with the social media use behaviors. This study suggests the potential of social media as a desired channel for providing health information to undergraduates.
Social Q&A sites, where individuals freely ask and answer each other online, play an important role as a public knowledge repository. For their sustainable growth, social Q&A sites constantly need new askers and new answerers. However, previous studies have focused only on answerers, with little attention to new users or askers. This study examines the factors encouraging new users to continue using social Q&A sites based on motivational affordance theory and self-determination theory, and also investigates whether the factors differ depending on the types of users (i.e., new asker vs. new answerer). In addition, the moderating effect of prior experience with a member Q&A site was examined. Using logistic regression and XGBoost, we analyzed online activity data from 25,000 users in the Stack Exchange Network and found that design elements with motivational affordances had significant impacts on new users' continuance behavior. The experience of a member Q&A site negatively moderated the influence of the antecedents of continuance behavior. Interestingly, the influence of editing was not significant in the analysis of new users as a whole, but was significant in the separate analyses of askers (significantly negative) and answerers (significantly positive).
Non-verbal communication cues seem to be increasingly used in social media, such as emoticon, like, follow, etc. A Q methodology study is conducted to explore this phenomenon. Via a series of focus group activities with Facebook heavy users, 34 Q statements concerning online non-verbal communication cues are derived. Different Facebook users conduct Q sorts of these statements based on frequent use basis. Analysis of Q sort result reveals three distinctive usage patterns of non-verbal communication cues in Facebook: 'safe distance keeping' type, 'observing hermit' type and 'fully dedicated aficionado' type. Discussions are made concerning different components of non-verbal communication cues utilized in these groups, respectively, which can provide a theoretical basis for social media design.
The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore consumer behavioral trends, psychological characteristics and various cognitive types of Millennial Generation consumers, primarily in their 20s, who are familiar with sharing economy services based on the emerging social networking technology. Using Q methodology, this paper theoretically defines four and interprets via a social science perspective four different types of these young consumers who are skilled at state-of-the-art ICT equipment, devices or online networking services. Sharing economy services in Korea's academic and industrial services are influenced by government policy, and related research is relatively new. This study is focused on discovering unique psychographic characteristics called 'schemata' that include personal interest, preference, attitude, and opinion. On the basis of 40 Q-sorted data samples, the analysis examined 180 collected statements from meta-studies and interviews with 35 individuals born between 1997 and 1992. As a result, four consumer groups were identifies: Type 1 'Early majority', Type 2 'Laggard', Type 3 'Opinion leader', and Type 4 'Late majority'. The results of this research can be used to explore to study in greater detail the behavior and psychological aspects of Millennial General consumers'.

The study aims to understand major topics and concerns of gender identity-related questions expressed by the users of the NAVER social Q&A site. To achieve this goal, we analyzed 2,120 questions created from 2010 to 2018 using natural language- and information retrieval-based methods. Results indicated that the major topics discussed by the users include interpersonal relationships, doubts about gender identity, sexual orientation, feelings and relationships, and concerns about gender identity. In addition, users mainly expressed concerns regarding general issues of gender identity; sexual orientation; negative cognition about gender identity; confession, coming-out, homosexuality; future, heterosexual relationships, military enlistment; and causes of gender identity confusion. The present study effectively derives information needs from real-world concerns about sexual identity by employing topic modeling techniques, and by comparing the advantages of exact match and tf-idf-based information retrieval methods extends methodology of Library and Information Science. Further, it has contributed to the academic maturity of the study of information behavior by observing the information needs or information-seeking behaviors of online community users with specific interests.
A social network game (SNG) is the result of a combination of a life simulation game and a social networking service. These types of games are particularly popular among women. This phenomenon calls for research that focuses on the motivation behind playing SNGs, the factors that make SNGs absorbing and, particularly, the space decorating features of SNGs. The current study investigates people's experience with the space decorating features of SNGs and their motivation for playing these games. It observes the behaviors of SNG players, which were typed through Q methodology. Moreover, it specifically analyzes the motivation behind the playing of space-decorating SNGs. The study concludes that most of players were more absorbed in the space-decorating features of these games than they were in their social networking features. This also affects a player's continued playing of these games. This study proves that this phenomenon is related to players' desires for self-representation.

Images have been substantially searched and used due to not only the advanced internet and digital technologies but the characteristics of a younger generation. The purpose of this study aims to discuss the ways on expanding the access points to images by analyzing the needs of users in context of everyday life. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, 105 questions of image seeking in NAVER, which is one of social Q&A services in Korea, were analyzed. For the analysis, a two-dimensional framework with image uses and image attributes were utilized. The findings of this study demonstrate that considerable use purposes on data oriented pole, such as information processing, information dissemination and learning are identified. On the other hand, image attributes from the needs of image show that non-visual aspects including contextual attributes are recognized substantially in addition to the traditional semantic attributes.

We propose to designs and to implements a robot analyzing the risk of occurrence of mental disorder of single-person households' workers through the facial expression-detecting system. Due to complex social factors, the number and proportion of single-person households continues to increase. In addition, contrast to the household of many family members, the prevalence of mental disorder among single-person household varies greatly. Since most patients with mental can not detect the disease on their own, counseling and treatment with doctors are often ignored. In this study, we design and implement a robot analyzing the risk of mental disorder of single-person households workers by constructing a system with Q.bo One, a social robot created by Thecorpora. Q.bo One is consisted of Arduino, ar raspberry pie, and other sensors designed to detect and respond to sensors in the direction users want to implement. Based on the DSM-5 provided by the American Psychiatric Association, the risk of mental disorder occurrence was specified based on mental disorder. Q.bo One analyzed the facial expressions of the subjects for a week or two to evaluate depressive disorder, anxiety disorder. If the mental disorder occurrence risk is high, Q.bo One is designd to inform the subject to counsel and have medical treatment with a specialist.
