Determination of Proper Loading Speed for Deformation Strength Test of Asphalt Concretes (아스팔트 콘크리트 변형강도 시험에서의 적정 하중재하속도 선정 연구)

  • This study was carried out to select proper loading speed for deformation strength ($S_D$) of asphalt mixtures. Kim test using loading head of diameter(40mm) with radius(10mm) was conducted to measure $S_D$ in different loading speed (10mm/min, 30mm/min, 50mm/min, 70mm/min) and wheel tracking test was also conducted. The regression analyses between the So values and WT results were carried out by loading speeds. Higher $S_D$ was observed as increasing loading speed. This means that loading speed is a high influencing factor on $S_D$. The loading speed of 30mm/min was found as an optimum for better correlation with WT results than any other speeds from the regression analysis between $S_D$ and wheel tracking test results. $S_D$ value measured at other loading speed than 30mm/min has to apply the conversion coefficients.

  • This study intends to evaluate of the characteristics of pavement deformation and develop the model for prediction model in the asphalt layer using a regression analysis. In test, there are two different asphalt binders and 5 different aggregate types. The air voids of hot mix asphalt are 6% and 10% for target value. Repeated triaxial compression test with 3 different confining pressures was used for test at 3 different test temperatures. It is going to verify the main parameters for permanent deformation of HMA and to develop the distress model. This paper is to figure out the factor affecting the pavement deformation, and then to develop model the pavement deformation for asphalt mixture. Also, the reliability of prediction model has been studied. The permanent deformation prediction model for asphalt mixtures with temperature, loading time, and air voids has been developed and the proposed permanent deformation prediction model has been validated by using the multiple regression approach which is called Statistical Package for the Social Sciences(SPSS).

시공중인 터널의 2차원 유한요소해석에 대한 고찰

  • 근본적으로 터널을 정확히 해석하려면 3차원 해석이 필요하다. 그러나 3차원 해석은 다루어야 할 자료가 방대하고 또한 시공 단계를 고려하는 3차원 소성해석을 정확히 하기 위해서는 슈퍼컴퓨터와 같은 컴퓨터 파워가 요구된다. 따라서 터널의 해석에서는 대개 하중분배율법을 사용하여 2차원 해석을 수행하고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 하중분배율법에 의한 2차원 해석의 결과는 선택한 하중분배율법에 의존함으로 정확한 하중분배율을 아는 것이 중요하다. 2차원 터널해석을 정확히 하기 위해서는 본문에 기술한 요건을 갖춘 프로그램의 확보, 하중분배율에 대한 정확한 평가, 측압 계수의 신중한 선택, 주위 지반의 물성에 대한 신중한 평가가 필요하다.

Numerical Investigation of Dynamic Responses of a Thermal Elasto-plastic Tube under Kerosene-air Mixture Detonation (케로신-공기 혼합물의 데토네이션 하중에 의한 열탄소성 관의 동적 거동 해석)

  • This paper presents a numerical investigation on kerosene-air mixture detonation and behaviors of thermal elasto-plstic thin metal tube under detonation loading based on multi-material analysis. The detonation loading is modeled by the kerosene-air mixture detonation which is compared with Chapman-Jouguet (C-J) condition and experimental cell size. To conform the elasto-plastic model, plastic and elastic behaviors are verified by Taylor impact and plate bending motion, respectively. The numerical results are compared with the theory on burst pressure of tube. The critical deformable thickness with the thermal softening considered is good agreement with the theoretical value.

Determination of radius of edge round cut of loading head for deformation strength test (변형강도 시험용 하중봉의 원형절삭반경 선정연구)

  • This study evaluated influence of the loading head dimension on characteristics of deformation strength ($S_D$) of asphalt mixtures. Kim test and Wheel tracking (WT) test were conducted to evaluate $S_D$ characteristics with relation to WT results for various mixtures. The $S_D$ values and coefficient of variation of $S_D$ values of r=10mm were smaller than those of r=10.5mm. It was also found that $S_D$ values obtained using r=10mm loading head showed high correlations with rut parameters of WT test. It was indicated that the aggregate size and radius (r) of round cut were statistically significant variables on $S_D$ at = 0.05 level in the analysis of variance. However, in interaction of r and aggregate size showed no significance within $10{\sim}19mm$ aggregate size at the same level. Therefore, it was concluded that the diameter (D) of 40mm and the bottom edge radius (r) of 10mm was suitable dimension of loading head for deformation strength test.

  • 소성스핀을 취급하기 위한 이론을 살펴보면 개념적으로 현저히 다른 세가지로 압축된다. 또한 재료직조 현상이 소성스핀의 근원이라고 알려져 있지만, 그 지배인자와 발생근원에 대하여 아직 충분히 연구되어 있지 않다. 따라서 앞으로의 연구에 올바른 방향을 제시하기 위하여 소성스핀의 기본적인 거동에 대한 연구가 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 체심입방격자 다결정의 소성스핀 시뮬레이션을 통하여, 소성스핀의 거동을 조사하였는데, 재료직조, 변형경화, 변형속도, 하중역전 등의 영향을 검토하였다. 소성발생원인으로 재료직조현상이 강조되었고, 이에 관련한 주요지배인자를 제시하였다. 무차원 소성스핀은 변형속도, 재료경화에 영향을 받으나 재료직조와 관련한 인자와 비교하여 그 영향이 작게 나타났다.

  • 분말단조 공정의 해석을 위한 기초연구로서 고용 업셋에 의한 다공질 합금강 프리폼의 치밀화와 소성 변형거동에 관하여 조사하였다. 다공질 프리폼의 소성 유동응력은 용도의 상승에 떠라 감소하였고, 변형속도의 증가에 따라 증가함을 보였다. 또한, 다공질 프리폼의 초기밀도가 더 높을수록 동일한 온도와 하중조건에서 더 높은 치밀화를 보였다. 또한, 밀도변화에 따른 프와송 비를 실험치로 부터 구하였고, 배불림 현상과 체적변화를 고려하여 온도에 따른 진응력-진변형률 관계를 구하였다.

  • Elastic-viscoplastic structural analysis has been performed for regenerative cooling chamber of liquid rocket thrust chamber using Bodner-Partom visco-plastic model. Strain rate test was conducted for a copper alloy at various temperatures in order to get material constants of visco-plastic model used in the structural analysis. Material constants of visco-plastic model were obtained from strain rate test results and visco-plastic model was incorporated into finite element program, Marc, by means of a user subroutine. The structural analysis results indicated that the deformation of cooling channel is mostly caused by thermal loading rather than pressure loading and confirmed structural stability of the cooling channel under the operating condition.

  • The main objective of materials testing is to simulate in-situ field conditions as closely as possible, including loading conditions, climatic conditions, etc. Also, the test method should be easy, inexpensive, simple, and efficient to conduct to become an acceptable standard laboratory testing method for many agencies. Based on these reasons, a new test method employing repetitive axial loading with confinement was developed to evaluate the rutting(permanent deformation) of asphalt concrete. The new laboratory test protocol was developed based on the study of the various structural analysis and field data. This protocol divides asphalt layer(s) into three categories depending upon the depth. Different temperatures and vertical stress levels were used in these areas.

  • In this study the plastic buckling analysis of a simply supported plate under biaxial compression/tension loading is carried out considering the plastic compressibility. Plastic buckling of a biaxially loaded rectangular plate is governed by two kinds of mechanism, the tension strengthening and plastic weakening under which the optimal combination of tension and compression is obtained for the buckling strength. To consider the plastic compressibility, the Drucker-Prayer plastic potential is employed. General eigenvalue equations are derived for a rectangular plate within the framework of small strain plasticity and isotropic hardening.
