The rockbolt functions as a main support, which restricts enlargement of the plasticity area and increases stability in the original ground around tunnels, and prevents a second deformation of an excavated surface by supplementing vulnerability arising from opening of the excavated surface. System bolting is generally applied if ground conditions are bad. System bolting is generally installed perpendicular to the excavation direction in every span. If a place is narrow, or it is difficult to insert bolts due to construction conditions, it may be connected and used with short bolts, or installed obliquely. In this study, laboratory model tests were performed to analyze the effect of the ground being reinforced by inclined bolts, based on a bending theory that assumes that the reinforced ground is a simple beam. In all test cases, deflections and vertical earth pressures induced by overburden soil pressure were measured. Total of 99 model tests were carried out, by changing the installation angle of bolts, lateral and longitudinal distance of bolts, and soil height. The model test results indicated that when the installation angle of bolts was less than $75^{\circ}$, deflections of model beams tended to increase rapidly. Also, the relaxed load that was calculated by earth pressure was rapidly increased when the installation angle of bolts was less than $75^{\circ}$. However, the optimum installation angle of inclined bolts was judged to be in the range of $90^{\circ}{\sim}75^{\circ}$. Also, as might be expected, the reinforcement effect of bolts was increased when the longitudinal and lateral distance of bolts was decreased.

A steel-plate concrete composite beam is composed of a steel plate, concrete and shear connector to combine inhomogeneous two materials. The steel plate is assembled by welding an existing composite beam. In this study, new steel-plate concrete composite beam, called a SPC Beam, was developed to reduce the shear connector and improve the workability. The SPC Beam was composed of folding steel plates and concrete, without a shear connector. The folding steel plate was assembled using high strength bolt instead of welding. To improve the workability in field construction, a hat-shaped Cap was attached to the junction with a slab. Monotonic load testing under two points was conducted under displacement control mode. The flexural strength of the specimen for positive moment and negative moment was calculated using the plastic stress distribution method. The test results showed that the flexural strength of the new SPC Beam had 80% of the strength of a complete composite beam. In addition, increasing the composite ratio was possible through clearance controls of the cap. In this study, the performance of the SPC Beam was verified through additional experiments and analyses with the cross-sectional shape and cap as variables, because the representative shape in the positive negative moment region is targeted.

Four point bending is used to study the dependences of bond strength of benzocyclobutene(BCB) bonded wafers and BCB thickness, the use of an adhesion promoter, and the materials being bonded. The bond strength depends linearly on BCB thickness, due to the thickness-dependent contribution of the plastic dissipation energy of the BCB and thickness independence of BCB yield strength. The bond strength increases by about a factor of two with an adhesion promoter for both $2.6{\mu}m$ and $0.4{\mu}m$ thick BCB, because of the formation of covalent bonds between adhesion promoter and the surface of the bonded materials. The bond strength at the interface between a silicon wafer with deposited oxide and BCB is about a factor of three higher than that at the interface between a glass wafer and BCB. This difference in bond strength is attributed to the difference in Si-O bond density at the interfaces. At the interfaces between plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposited (PECVD) oxide coated silicon wafers and BCB, and between thermally grown oxide on silicon wafers and BCB, 12~13 and $15{\sim}16bonds/nm^2$ need to be broken. This corresponds to the observed bond energies, $G_0s$, of 18 and $22J/m^2$, respectively. Maximum 7~8 Si-O $bonds/nm^2$ are needed to explain the $5J/m^2$ at the interfaces between glass wafers and BCB.
The uptake of $Mn^{+2}$, a metal cofactor Mn-SOD, by rice seedings resulted in not only a substantial increase in SOD activity in leaf tissues of the plants, but also a significant enhancement of their cold tolerance : the relative extent of the cold tolerance appeared to accord with relative level of the SOD activity. In contrast, $Fe^{+3},\;Cu^{+2}$ and $Zn^{+2}$, which are the cofactors of Fe-SOD and Cu/Zn-SOD, were found to be ineffective for increasing the SOD activity as well as for improving the chilling-resistant capacity of the plants. The results suggest that Mn-SOD, which is most likely induced by its substrate(superoxide) and activated by the presence of $Mn^{+2}$a at high level, is the enzyme acting as an active component of the defense system against low temperature stress in rice plants. In addition, the application of abscisic acid which has been know to protect to some extent certain plants from chilling injury brought about an increase in SOD activity in rice tissues, providing another affirmative information for the crucial role of SOD under the circumstance of cold stress in plants.
At the archaeological site, there are a variety of fired soil remains with which archaeomagnetic dating is measured, and there are also different kinds of kilns equipped with favorable plasticity conditions, so quality data can be gained. Among them, roof tile kilns indicate fairly great results of archaeomagnetic measuring. This should be associated with the properties of soil consisting of the kilns. With a lot of experimental results, it has been found that the fired soil samples of roof tile kilns have formed very stable residual magnetization. This author conducted archaeomagnetic research to present archaeomagnetic results of measuring about roof tile kilns from Goryeo in Gyeonggi. With the archaeomagnetic data of measuring 21 samples, this researcher tried to estimate the archaeomagnetic dating of roof tile kilns from Goryeo in Gyeonggi and divided them into three groups, group A (A.D.900~1150), group B (A.D.1150~1250), and group C (A.D.1300~1400) to figure out their relative order and arrange them in order. Through this kind of archaeomagnetic research, it will be possible to identify the dating of 21 roof tile kilns from Goryeo in Gyeonggi and also contribute considerably to chronological research on roof tile kilns from Goryeo. In the body, the remains and kilns belonging to each group are presented in detail.

The widespread use of thin shell structures has created a need for a systematic method of analysis which can adequately account for arbitrary geometric form. Therefore, the stress analysis of thin shell has been one of the more challenging areas of structural mechanics. The analysis of axisymmetric spherical shell is almost an every day occurrence in many industrial applications. A reliable and accurate finite element analysis procedure for such structures was needed. In general, the shell structures designed according to quasi-static analysis may fail under conditions of dynamic loading. For a more realistic prediction on the load carrying capacity of these shell, in addition to the dynamic effect, consideration should also include other factors such as nonlinearities in both material and geometry since these factors, in different manner, may also affect the magnitude of this capacity. The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the dynamic characteristics of spherical Shell. For these purpose, the spherical shell subjected to uniformly distributed step load was analyzed for its large displacements elasto-viscoplastic dynamic response. The results for the dynamic characteristics of spherical shell in the cases under various conditions of base-radius/central height(a/H) and thickness/shell radius(t/R) were summarized as follows: 1. The dynamic characteristics with a/H, 1) As the a/H increases, the amplitude of displacement increased. 2) The values of displacement Dynamic Magnification Factor (DMF) range from 2.9 to 6.3 in the crown of shell and the values of factor in the mid-point of shell range from 1.8 to 2.6. 3) As the a/H increases, the values of DMF in the crown of shell is decreased rapidly but the values of DMF in mid-point of shell is increased gradually. 4) The values of DMF of hoop-stresses range from 3.6 to 6.8 in the crown of shell and the values of factor in the mid-point of shell range from 2.3 to 2.6, the values of DMF of stress were larger than that of displacement. 2. The dynamic characteristics with t/R, 1) With the decrease of thickness of shell decreses, the amplitude of the displacement and the period increased. 2) The values of DMF of the displacement were range from 2.8 to 3.6 in the crown of shell and the values of factor in the mid-point of shell were range from 2.1 to 2.2.
The functional properties of lupin seed protein concentrate (LPC) were examined and compared to those of soybean protein isolate (SPI) and Na-caseinate. LPC-50, of which protein level was 50%, was prepared by a two phase solvent (hexane: alcohol: water= 10:7:3) extraction method. LPC-70 was made from LPC-50 by removing the fractions solubilized by carbohydrate decomposing enzymes. The solubilities of LPC-50 and LPC-70 were similar to that of of SPI but slightly higher at pH 4-5, and less susceptible to the added salt. The apparent viscosity of LPC increased exponentially as the concentration increased over 6% level, and the change was similar to that of Na-caseinate. LPC showed strong pseudoplastic non-Newtonean flow behavior, which was similar to that of SPI The emulsifying capasity of LPC-70 was similar to that of SPI when salt was added. The foaming capacity of LPC was comparable to that of SPI. LPC showed high oil and water absorption capacities, which increased as the protein level was elevated. LPC-70 showed the highest oil absorption capacity of all the samples tested.
In order to observe the strawberry as the raw materials and to compare the color of strawberry's products, Hunter L,a,b tristimulate color values were measured physically by color difference meter. Food textural properties of strawberry were measured by Rheo textural meter for rheological properties of strawberry jam. According to results obtained, it showed that Hunter L,a,b tristimulus color values were affected by ripening time of strawberry and Hunter color values changed regularly on different pH. Deformation of red color pigment Hunter color values changed linearlly on different pH, therefore red color pigment of elderberry showed to be used as a food color agent. The first peak of strawberry in TPA curve was high as cherry, grape and pineapple Strawberry jam showed pseudoplastic characteristic and time dependence.

Asphalt Plug Joint(APJ) is a new type of expansion joint that it's application are increased in USA as well as several European countries. APJ's' advantages are cheap construction and maintenance costs, and simple construction and securing of excellent flatness. However, APJ's usability is hindered because it showed a problem of premature failure. Research for solving this problem has been progressed, and FEM analysis among existing researches was peformed. However, the behavior of APJ was insufficiently analyzed and the reliability of the analysis was much low, since the material showing complicated behavior was oversimplified, Therefore, a material model was proposed and its effectiveness was confirmed by comparing it with actual behavior in order to improve the reliability of FEM analysis in this paper. ABAQUS program was used for FEM analysis, and an elasto-plastic model and a viscous-plastic model as the material model of APJ were suggested on the base of experiment results of APJ material performed by Bramel et al. The elasto-plastic model was defined by time-independent analysis since it didn't consider time and strain rate, and the viscous-plastic model was defined by time-dependent analysis since it considered. Influence of various elements affecting the behavior of APJ was investigated, and it was confirmed that the time-dependent analysis showed better result closed to actual behavior than the time-independent analysis.
Many transmission towers, high-rise buildings and bridges are constructed near steep slopes and are supported by large-diameter piles. These structures may be subjected to large lateral loads, such as violent winds and earthquakes. Widely used types of foundations for these structures are pier foundations, which have large-diameters with high stiffness. The behavior of a pier foundation subjected to lateral loads is similar to that of a short rigid pile because both elements seem to fail by rotation developing passive resistance on opposite faces above and below the rotation point, unlike the behavior of a long flexible pile. This paper describes the results of several numerical studies performed with a three-dimensional finite element method (FEM) of model tests of a laterally loaded short pile located near slopes, respectively. In this paper, the results of model tests of single piles and pile groups subjected to lateral loading, in homogeneous sand with 30$^{\circ}$ slopes and horizontal ground were analyzed by the 3-D FE analyses. The pile was assumed to be linearly elastic. The sand was assumed to have non-associative characteristics, following the MC-DP model. The failure criterion is governed by the Mohr-Coulomb equation and the plastic potential is given by the Drucker-Prager equation. The main purpose of this paper is the validation of the 3-D elasto-plastic FEM by comparisons with the experimental data.
