Identifying Factors Affecting Helpfulness of Online Reviews: The Moderating Role of Product Price (제품 가격에 따른 온라인 리뷰 유익성 결정 요인에 관한 연구)

  • For the success of an online retail market, it is important to allow consumers to get more helpful reviews by figuring out the factors determining the helpfulness of online reviews. On the basis of elaboration likelihood model, this study analyzes which factors determine the helpfulness of reviews and how the factors affecting the helpfulness of an online consumer review differ for product price. For this study, 75,226 online consumer reviews were collected from Amazon.com. Furthermore, additional information on review messages was also gathered by carrying out a content analysis on the review messages. This study shows that both of peripheral cues such as review rating and reviewer's credibility and central cues such as word count of review message and the proportion of negative words influence the helpfulness of review. In addition, the result of this study reveals that each consumer focuses on different information sources of reviews depending on the product price.

An Empirical Study on the Weight of Purchasing Factors according the Purchasing Style Using the AHP (계층분석과정을 이용한 소비자의 구매행태에 따른 구매요인별 중요도에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • The primary research objective of this study is to evaluate a weight of purchase decision making factors according to the purchasing style. In this study, the purchasing style is classified into two categories-online shopping and offline shopping group. This study adopts the AHP method to calculate a weight of factors. For this purpose, 22 purchasing factors which affect on consumer purchasing decision making are classified into four factors - a product related factor, a convenience related factor, a purchasing risk related factor and a shopping enjoyment related factor. In this study, the weights of purchasing factors are evaluated according to 1)the purchasing style-online and offline Purchasing group, 2)the frequency of online shopping-high and low group, 3)the media used for online shopping-the TV home shopping and Internet home shopping group. The result shows that there are difference the weight of factors according to the purchasing style.

  • Todays, electronic commerce(EC) results to the revolution and new paradigm of business, more and more Web-based EC applications have emerged. But, it's web systems should be satisfied by customers and it should be successful to buying some goods in virtual stores with easy to use. The usability and acceptance of the EC web system is one of the key factors in the successful construction of EC system. In this paper, we considered the characteristics of information search and decision making process in the design of EC web system to be used easily and to be more acceptable to customers. On the basis of these characteristics, we could classified with the activities of the process of buying in the domestic web systems. And, the log files of experimental tasks were analyzed by the statistical method of data mining. As the these results, the important factors of the process of buying could be summarized, 5 user groups could be seen in EC customers, and the usage patterns of these groups were described. These results could be very useful to design user-oriented EC web system.

  • A blog has significant effect as a new online medium and as a tool to share information with its powerful networking function. Blogs are established based on personal experience and their impact is stronger than conventional media in terms of informativeness, credibility and interactivity. Such characteristics of blogs lead to blog commitment (a phenomenon that has behavioral consequences) that eventually influences consumer fashion purchase behavior. The more a consumer is interested in fashion and seeks diverse information from a wide range of media, the more personally committed they become to certain blogs; in addition, they will also post the results of their fashion product purchases on their blog to further create and reproduce information. This research discovers how blog commitment affects fashion product purchase behavior and information reproduction activity among consumers as well as explores the impact of blog characteristics and information variety seeking by individual consumers on these factors. The data was collected from 428 adults who purchased a fashion product based on information they found on a blog. The results are as follows. First, blog characteristics are composed of accessibility, interactivity, credibility of the information, and informativeness. Second, in terms of the blog commitment, informativeness, credibility, and consumer information diversification (respectively), turned out to have positive effects; in addition, accessibility and credibility had positive effects for corporate blogs. The comparison between private and corporate blogs showed that consumers tend to be more committed to private blogs. Third, in terms of the brand attitude, private/corporate blog commitment, credibility, and consumer information diversification (respectively) had a positive influence. Fourth, blog characteristics and consumer information diversification led consumers (through private/corporate blog commitment) to form a favorable attitude towards the brand and purchase products that resulted in information reproduction of the purchased product.

  • While on-line shopping markets are growing, consumer's procurement processes are being confused regardless of on or off line market and, smart consumers who want intelligent tailored services have emerged. Depending on the changeable pattern of consumer, most of related companies provide various Omni channel and O2O service. However, reactions of the fashion companies are tend to be late. Recently, the IoT environment has changed to standards-based open platform and it requires a variety of intelligent services depending on the type of environment and objects. This thesis proposes fashion O2O system using smart fitting display that is adaptable to fashion companies. This proposed system provides fitting information which is performed on off-line by users after constructing the database, it also support the works as on-line status, thus, it makes users' procurements to maintain continuously. For the more, customer oriented intelligent fitting service would be expected by the information connection with the shop and delivery systems.

  • The results of the present study on corporate social responsibility activities have different results for each researcher. This is considered to be the influence of the moderated variables depending on the relations among the variables. The purpose of this study is to propose anti-corporate emotion as a variable to moderate the relationship between social responsibility activities and outcome variables and to investigate its influence. The results and implications are as follows. Ethical responsibility activities and discretionary responsibility activities had effects on corporate attitude and corporate attitude affects consumers' purchase intention. This is consistent with many previous studies, which means that it is necessary to create a positive psychology for a firm or product in order to induce consumer behavior. In addition, in the group with high anti-corporate emotions, the effect is not significant even if the company has a lot of discretionary activities, but if the ethical responsibility is done, the negative attitude toward the company can be alleviated even if the anti- corporate emotion is high. This explains why many companies now have social contribution activities as an alternative to reduce the corporate crisis, but the effect is insufficient. Therefore, companies that want to carry out social responsibility activities should be interested first in the ethical management or ethical responsibility activities of companies.

A Study on Characteristics of Female Consumers Using Big Data (Big Data를 활용한 여성소비자의 특성연구)

  • We are living in big data. Specially, female consumers are the hottest issue. Female consumers have a great effected on consumer culture as comparing male consumers. Therefore, this study analysis characteristics of female consumers through case study and literature review. The summarized results of research are as follows. First, percentage of economically active population of unmarried female of 20s is high, so they actively spend lots of money on buying goods and so on. Second, they are ahead of the curve and follow entertainers. Third, domestic case studies(SD online buz marketing, C.S.I. Shinsegaemall project, Service center only for female consumers of Shinhan Card, Travel Service of Lotte Tour) and international case studies(Big data service of Target, ZARA, and Walmart) show that if we utilize big data, we can raise re-purchasing desire and analysis needs of female consumers and create new female consumers.

  • 최근, 맞춤의료서비스, 헬스와 웰빙의 복합서비스, RFID 기반의 공급망 관리 서비스와 같이 정보기술(IT), 바이오기술(BT), 나노기술(NT) 등이 융합된 혁신적인 서비스들이 출현하고 있다. 그러나 기존의 전통적인 접근방법으로는 새로이 출현하는 다양한 서비스에 대한 체계적인 접근이 불가능하다. 따라서 분석의 단위를 조직이나 정보 시스템 수준에서 서비스 수준으로 하향하는 것과 요소기술이 서비스로 변환되어 소비자에게 수용되는 전체과정을 동태적, 공학적으로 설계하는 접근이 절실히 요구된다. 본 연구의 목적은 신 기술의 출현, 성숙, 시장으로의 유입과 소비자에 수용되는 서비스 생명주기 전 과정을 통태적 관점에서 분석하는 틀을 제시하고 의료서비스에 특화 하여 서비스 공학적 관점에서 IT, BT, NT가 융합된 서비스를 설계하는 모델을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 우선 서비스의 특성과 서비스 시스템 설계의 목표를 제시하고 동태적 혁신이론에 기반하여 서비스의 탄생부터 시장에서의 수용에 이르는 생명주기를 표현할 수 있는 모델을 개발한다. 이 모델의 시간 축을 분기하여 단계(Stage)들을 도출하고 각 단계에서 수행해야 할 활동들을 설계한다. 아울러 모델의 실제적 유용성을 입증하기 위하여 의료분야의 관련사례를 제시하고 조직의 서비스전략과 다변화 전략을 수립하기 위한 논리도 제시하였다. 본 연구의 동태적 공학모델은 IT 생태계 (IT Ecosystem) 하에서 조직 및 IT 요소들이 다양한 환경에서 어떻게 안정적이고 효율적인 메커니즘을 형성하고 진화해야 하는지를 잘 보여주고 있다.

Influence of On-line Brand Communities on Customers' Attitudes -Focusing on the Brand Selection of Online Universities- (온라인 브랜드커뮤니티가 소비자 태도에 미치는 영향 -온라인 대학 브랜드 선택을 중심으로-)

  • As internet and mobile technology brings rapid transformation to this society of information, how relations are conducted between customers have become a critical factor influencing companies. Companies are creating Internet communities based on their brands, encouraging customers to actively form and develop brand communities. Thus, this report proposes a plan to analyze the effectiveness of community activities based on the customers active involvement and how to effectively manage and utilize it. The purpose of this research is to understand the effects on-line brand communities and their characters have on customer behavior. Also, it will study the effects community attitudes have on brand decisions and oral transmission communication when on-line brand communities choose a brand. This report was conducted to survey on-line university students to understand how communities' attitude affects the decision of on-line university brand and oral transmissions when students choose to study at a on-line university. According to research, those factors brought positive responses to character of the brand communities(confidentiality of information, interactivity, convenience, intimacy) and by doing so, on the customer's attitude side, positive results on intention of purchase and oral transmissions can be expected. In addition, the character of the brand communities affects intention of purchase and oral transmission communication. Based on this research, it is possible to propose a marketing strategy that revitalizes brand communities' activities.

Consumer Behavior in Achieving the Goals of ESG Banking Products: Focusing on environmental awareness and saving behavior (ESG 금융상품의 목표 달성에 미치는 소비자 행동에 관한 탐색적 연구 -환경인식과 저축행동을 중심으로-)

  • ESG has become a necessity for all companies, and major Korean banks are actively practicing ESG management. Banks are playing a role in providing ESG finance as intermediaries in the supply of funds. Recently, they have launched ESG digital banking products that offer preferential interest rates for eco-friendly activities in combination with digital technologies. However, indiscriminate provision of preferential interest rates can adversely affect profitability of banks, and they may face the problem of 'Greenwashing' if they do not contribute to improving environmental awareness. Therefore, this study selected ESG digital savings products linked to electricity savings as the subject of the study, and empirically analyzed consumers' environmental awareness and savings behavior through actual data of consumers (N=2,478). The main findings of this study are as follows First, the analysis of the consumer status of ESG digital banking products shows that the 30-50s are the main consumer base, and the MZ generation shows relatively high performance in achieving preferential interest rates through electricity saving practices. Second, consumers' environmental awareness has a significant impact on achieving the goals of ESG banking products. ESG banking products can contribute to environmental awareness while fulfilling the basic function of saving. Third, environmental awareness did not drive consumers' savings contribution behavior, suggesting the need for continued consumer engagement. Based on environmental awareness and the theory of saving behavior, this study provides a theoretical explanation in ESG financial products. The results suggest that the appropriateness of the preferential interest rate design of ESG financial products is important.
