  • There is no method to control for the child efficiently when disease happens who cannot be able to express his symptoms. Therefore, doctor's diagnosis depends on inquiring from child's patients, that leads to wrong diagnosis result. For this, in this paper, we would like to develop child ocular inspection, auscultation diagnosis instruments, using Oriental medicine principle that living body signal of five organs and six hallow organs which reflects patients face and voice We would like to get more accurate diagnosis result for child's symptoms from doctor's intuition on the basis of diagnostic sight visualization, objectification, quantization itself. This paper develops color revision, YCbCr application, and face color selection and five sensory organs and nose or apex extraction method etc, in child ocular inspection by first work achievement sequence among the whole development systems. Also, in occasion of child auscultation, crying characteristics of colics through pitch, intensity and formant analysis is numerized and objectifies doctor's intuition through this. Finally, experiments are performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

  • Daegeum is the only Korean musical instrument that uses cheong The characteristics of cheong have to be considered first for the sound synthesis of daegeum. This study analyzes the changes of partials in accordance with the vibration of cheong. It shows that amplitudes differ at the partials after about the seventh partial. The study also found that, unlike the case of partials, the vibration of cheong has nothing to do with noise. We expect that this study results can be applied to the sound synthesis of daegeum.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel method to analyze and quantitatively evaluate the impression of landscapes and soundscapes about traditional area of Chungnam Asan city in Korea. For this, we collated data about impression evaluation of Korean and Japanese students and, based on these result, we proved the validity and usefulness of the evaluation system that we proposed through this study. The research process conducted in this study as follows: first of all, we had selected five traditional places of interest in Asan City, and investigated various conditional elements of the area including soundscapes which is forming the landscape using video camera. And we made both Korean and Japanese students evaluate the impression for these videotaped landscape data through using the SD(semantic differential) method. And then, we quantified these qualitative data through applying the quantification theory and cluster analysis method to them. Though this process, we could obtain both data as a result derived by classifying each sample and categorizing levels of those impression evaluation. Because of totally difference between those two analyzing processes, which one is for sample classification and the other is for determining impression level, we could validate the usefulness of our evaluation system through conducting comparative analysis of results from both methods. Analysis showed that our novel evaluation system for landscape is effective and, in most part of the traditional landscape, Japanese students' responses are different far from the Korean students' responses.

  • The bioacoustics generated in urban parks contribute to the overall sound diversity of a city, creating a harmonious acoustic environment and maintaining the balance of the soundscape. However, due to the rapid urbanization process, the acoustic environment in urban parks is continuously deteriorating due to increased noise. In this study, we present an approach to monitoring the acoustic environment of urban parks by analyzing the soundscape of Namsan Urban Natural Park in Seoul. Acoustic data were collected continuously for one month from August 2021 in four facility districts of the study site using autonomous recording units, and a total of 2,784 hours of sound material were obtained. We also compared soundscape characteristics over time in each district using acoustic indices (ACI, ADI, BI, NDSI) representing soundscape complexity, acoustic diversity, degree of bioacoustics, and anthropogenic disturbance. The results showed that acoustic indices related to bioacoustics varied between districts, but most indices showed similar variation patterns due to the influence of anthropogenic sounds. In particular, regional differences closed during periods of high bird activity but not during periods of high human activity. We suggest that considering both acoustic characteristics and multiple acoustic indices is necessary for managing the soundscape of urban parks. The results of this study are expected to provide essential data for assessing the health of urban ecosystems based on soundscapes and to be used for monitoring the acoustic environment of urban parks.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient method of representing human emotions that are conveyed during conversations. In order to develop a robot that comes close to thinking, acting, and expressing like humans, many researches have been conducted. Among these researches, the proposed method is developed based upon 6 emotion identification systems. The proposed method first analyzes conversations between humans, decides an emotion on the basis of the analysis, and represents the emotion by an action, an image, and a sound. We implemented the proposed method using a hand-sized robot.

  • The community structure of macrobenthos was investigated around Sorido Island, southern coast of Korea between August 1996 and April 1997. Triplicate macrobenthic samples were taken seasonally at twelve stations in August and November 1996 and fourteen stations in February and April 19n by van Veen grab ($0.1m^2$). A total of 217 macrobenthic species were identified during study Period: 80 species were from polychaetes, 60 species from crustaceans, and 46 species from mollusks. The mean density of macrobenthos estimated $1,068 ind/m^2$, and polychaetes comprised $85\%$ of total density. The mean biomass was $110.2 g/m^2$, and echinoderms contributed to more than a half of the biomass. Major dominant species based on abundance were three polychaetes Tharyx sp., Lumbrineris longifolia, and Magelona japonica, which frequently occur in the coastal area enriched by organic pollution. The densities of the species were $582 ind/m^2$, $72 ind/m^2$, and $41 ind/m^2$, respectively. These species showed very low density in the offshore area. The study area was classified into four regions each sustaining specific macrofaunal assemblages by Bray-Curtis cluster analysis: a station group adjacent to the Kwangyang Bay and Yosu harbour and three station groups around Sorido Island. There were negative correlations between the concentration of PAHs in sediments and the abundance of Ampeliscidae spp. and Amphipoda. These results were discussed in terms of both environmental factors and distribution of benthic community.

  • To investigate the spatial distribution and daily calling pattern of the Gold-spotted pond frog, Rana chosenica, in Chungju city and Chungwon gun, Chungbuk province, Korea, we divided the study area into 226 plots with a $2{\times}2km^2$ plot on the map, of which we assigned 32 plots for monitoring populations. Call monitoring on whether the species are present or not were conducted for 5 minutes in between sunset and the midnight from at the end of May to July in 2006. Gold-spotted pond frogs were detected at least once four out of 32 plots. Using program Presence, we obtained site occupancy rate as 0.170 which was quite low compared with other species, while detection probability was 0.66 that propose at least three times to visit the monitoring site to confirm the absence of the frogs. The frogs were actively calling from 21:00 to 02:00, and the number of calling male was significantly and highly correlated with water temperature and humidity. This study shows the present status of the Gold-spotted pond frogs in Chungju city and Chungwon gun and we suggests various effective monitoring methods based on the this study.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the indirect effects of forest using the forest healing factors such as landscape and hearing factors on mood improvement. The experiment was conducted for about 2 months from October 5, 2016 to November 30, 2016 targeting 30 healthy college students ($23.6{\pm}1.7$ years old). After making 3 factors(image factor, sound factor and image+sound factor) using scenery and sound of both forest and urban space, participants undergone the test in a room. And the effects of these 3 factors on the mood improvement were compared and analyzed using SPSS 18.0 program. Profile of Mood State test (POMS) and Semantic Differential method (SD) were used to measure mood improvement as a psychological test. As a result, indirect forest stimulation showed effects of suppressing tension, fatigue, anger, confusion, depression, and enhancement of vitality. No significant difference was observed in the comparison between forest stimuli. However, Compared with the urban stimuli, the stimulation of the forests has the effect of enhancing pleasant, natural feeling and calmness.

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the usage of voice scripting for speech characterization. The ultimate goal of acting is for an actor to create one's character both in physical and vocal sense, and to present them on stage. Toward this goal, actors train themselves with various methods and techniques as well as character analysis. Most of their efforts are put into for better physical and vocal expression. The vocal characterization on stage is heavily governed by the proper speech based on the effective respiration and voice. This paper provides the way of how to use sound scoring for effective vocal characterization on stage.
