The built environment of the elementary school influences on the character and the social skill of children in that childhood development stage. In this regard, sound environment in the elementary school is also important as the other environmental factors. Soundscape design is a design attitude for a better sound environment what landscape design targets a visual one. Four soundscape factors in elementary schools are extracted in this study from surveys on existing elementary schools. They are abstracted and characterized to related design patterns which denote the intended sound environments. The design patterns can be converted into design ideas and applied to an actual design project. There are possible advantages in the proposed elementary school design, environmentally and educationally, especially with the 'designed' soundscape.

The aim of this study is to search for the meaning and direction of sound environment preservation in Korea through the concept of soundscape. In order to achieve the goals, it was analyzed the similarities and differences on the contents of "100 The beautiful sounds of Korea - 1999" and "100 Soundscapes of Japan - 1996" in view of the intents of selection, the process of selection, and the construction of the results. The result show that there are the both similarities and differences on the intent and the process of selection, types and extent of sound samples, interactions among human-sound environment-region, the identities of the regions as well as the recognized sound environment. Also, the result shows that it is very important to preserve ecological, social, and cultural sound environment of the region. In order to practice this ideology of soundscape in Korea, there is a necessity for converting people's consciousness and participating voluntary residents' movement.

본 논문은 최근 제주도의 관광상품으로 각광받고 있는 올레길의 소리풍경을 soundwalking을 이용해 조사하였다. 이를 위해 올레길의 전체 16개 코스 중 3개 코스의 10개 지점에서 발생되는 소리의 특징을 문장으로 기술하고 소리의 크기를 측정하는 한편 녹음하였다. 또한 관광객 32명 및 음향전문가 5인을 대상으로 설문을 수행하여 해당지점의 배경 소리의 크기와 불쾌감에 대해 조사하였으며, 설문조사를 통해 인공음 및 자연음 17개를 제시한 뒤 그 중 가장 크게 들리는 소리 및 불쾌하게 들리는 소리, 듣기 좋은 소리와 인상적인 소리를 응답하도록 하였다. 또한 현장에서 녹음해온 소리를 실험실에서 청감실험을 통해 평가하여 현장 실험결과와 비교하였다. 실험 결과 제주도 올레길에서 가장 많이 발생하는 소리는 파도 및 바람소리, 자동차 소음과 사람의 말소리였으며, 그 중에서 듣기 좋은 소리는 자연음으로 이루어져있고 불쾌한 소리는 인공음인 것으로 나타났다. 현장에서 녹음해온 음원 및 영상을 통해 실험실에서 주관적 평가를 수행한 결과 소리의 불쾌감에 영향을 미치는 것은 인공음과 자연음의 비중이며 이는 곧 소리의 크기에 대한 평가에도 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 현장평가와 실험실 평가 모두 소리의 크기와 불쾌감에 매우 큰 상관관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

본 연구는 청주시의 음풍경을 파악하기 위하여 도심 지역을 특징에 따라 상업지역, 역사지역, 도심보행지역, 대학캠퍼스지역의 4가지로 구분한 뒤 총 13개 장소에서 발생되는 소리를 사운드워킹을 통하여 조사하였다. 이를 위하여 음향전문가 5인과 일반시민 65명을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하여 지역별 소리의 크기와 불쾌감에 대해서 주관적으로 평가하도록 하였다. 또한 자연음, 인공음 및 기계음으로 구성된 35개의 신호음 보기 중 3가지를 선택하여 큰 소리, 불쾌한 소리, 듣기 좋은 소리, 대표 소리에 대한 정보를 취득하였다. 현장평가 결과, 소리의 크기와 불쾌감 사이에 매우 큰 상관관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 지역별 신호음을 분석한 결과 상업지역은 기계음, 역사지역은 인공음과 자연음이 그 장소를 대표하는 소리로 나타났으며 도심보행지역과 대학캠퍼스의 대표 소리는 인공음인 것으로 나타났다. 한편 현장평가시 각 측정점의 상황을 녹음 및 녹화한 뒤 이를 이용해 실험실에서 20인을 대상으로 청감평가를 수행하였다. 실험실평가 결과 가장 크게 들리는 소리는 기계음과 인공음, 가장 불쾌하게 들리는 소리는 기계음, 가장 듣기 좋은 소리는 자연음과 인공음으로 나타나 현장평가와 유사한 경향성을 보여주고 있었다.

"나이스 샷" 골프공 날아가는 소리와 함께 박수 소리가 터져 나오는 곳은 골프존 내에 있는 스크린 골프 시설 앞이다. 여느 회사 점심시간에 볼 수 없는 풍경으로 골프존 직원들은 12시부터 2시까지의 점심시간 중 한 시간은 회사에 설치된 5대의 스크린 골프 시설을 즐기며 골프연습을 할 수 있다. 지난 3월 9일 삼성동에 위치한 골프존을 찾았다.

This study aims to rediscover the meaning and value of Soswaewon construction represented in Kim In-Hu's 48 poems on the basis of the concept and idea of soundscape. It classified the landscape resources through the various emotional elements such as the sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste, and warmth described in the 48 poems of Soswaewon, and also interpreted the meaning and value of Soswaewon construction. Appreciating various sounds of Soswaewon, Kim In-Hu understood a sound as an important element of the landscape. Also, he abundantly wrote down the interesting changes of Soswaewon which vary depending on time or seasons. The 48 poems contain the scent and feel of Soswaewon as well as the soundscapes which can be heard with ears. A variety of sounds heard in Soswaewon are the whole senses which are combined with the chill of Soswaewon, the fragrance of trees and the mystery of the mountain, etc, and they mean the wider world much more than the value of physical sounds. Soundscapes of Soswaewon are becoming an emotional space which intactly conveys not only the musical inspiration but also the scent of life to us.

본 연구의 목적은 현재 음풍경 조사를 위해 사용되는 실험법 중 현장평가와 실험실평가를 비교·분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 청주시 내 4개 지역에서 현장평가와 실험실평가를 수행하였다. 현장평가에서는 각 측정점을 이용 중이던 65명의 시민이 음풍경 평가에 참여했으며, 실험실평가에서는 20세 이상 건청인 48명이 참여해 녹취한 영상과 소리를 보고 들은 뒤 평가를 진행하였다. 실험실 평가는 현장 경험자와 현장 비경험자로 나누어 실시하였으며, 음원의 청취방법을 달리하여 헤드폰 및 스피커 이용 그룹으로 분류하여 실시하였다. 분석결과, 현장평가와 실험실평가에서 공통적으로 소리의 크기와 불쾌감 사이에 매우 높은 상관관계가 나타났다. 그러나 실험실 평가에서는 시각 및 청각적 정보만으로는 현장의 상황을 정확히 판단할 수 없기 때문에 현장평가와 실험실평가에서 신호음 인식에 대한 차이가 나타났다. 실험실평가에서 헤드폰과 스피커 이용 그룹의 응답결과 중 가장 크게 들리는 신호음의 인지에 차이가 있었다. 또한 현장경험자는 자신이 경험한 기억을 이용하여 신호음을 인지하는 경향이 있는 반면에 현장비경험자는 주 신호음을 인지하지 못하는 경우가 있었다.

풀밭을 헤집고 기어가는 길은 푸른 자연의 생기를 먹고 자란 뱀처럼 제법 그럴싸하게 구불거리며 숲을 헤치고 지나간다. 서쪽으로 향한 길은 호수를 에돌아 숲으로 들어가더니 모습을 감추었다. 무주 덕유산에서는 이처럼 아름다운 풍경을 배경으로 구름위에서의 산책을 즐길 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 1,000m 평원에 펼쳐진 식탁에서 여름 별미인 도토리묵을 맛보는 즐거움까지 만끽할 수 있다. 그리고 덕유산이 품은 구천동 푸른계곡에 온 몸을 담그면 아이들 웃음소리가 계곡 가득 울려 퍼진다.

Soswaewon is one of the most representative traditional garden in Korea which has the highest reach of soundscape with the sounds and landscape components. This study aims to find out and to introduce the characteristics of soundscape in Korean traditional garden and to establish the basic data of soundscape research. Literature survey, of ancient poetry, acoustical survey on the sound itself and questionnaire survey to the visitors were carried out to analyse the relationships between the images perceived by the visitors and the characteristics of soundscape components in Soswaewon.
