AlN plates were fabricated by hot pressing at $1700-1900^{\circ}C$ using yttria and alumina (3 and $10\;{\mu}m$ particle size) powders as additives and characterized: density, thermal conductivity, transverse rupture strength, and grain size measurement by SEM and EDS. Density values of $3.31-3.34\;g/cm^3$ are largely attributed to hot pressing of powder mixtures in carbon mold under $N_2$ atmosphere which caused effective degree of oxygen removal from yttrium-aluminate phase expected to form at $1100^{\circ}C$. The grain size of hot pressed AlN was almost homogeneous, with size approximately from 3.2 to $4.0\;{\mu}m$ after hot pressing. $Al_2O_3$ powder of $3\;{\mu}m$ particle size resulted in better transverse rupture strength and finer grain size compared to $10\;{\mu}m$$Al_2O_3$ powder. The thermal conductivity of AlN ranged between $83-92.7\;W/m{\cdot}K$ and decreased with $Al_2O_3$ addition. Fine grain size is preferred for better mechanical properties and thermal conductivity.

The expansion of lithium-ion battery usage beyond portable electronic devices to electric vehicles and energy storage systems is driven by their high energy density and favorable cycle characteristics. Enhancing the stability and performance of these batteries involves exploring solid electrolytes as alternatives to liquid ones. While sulfide-based solid electrolytes have received significant attention for commercialization, research on amorphous-phase glass solid electrolytes in oxide-based systems remains limited. Here, we investigate the glass transition temperatures and sintering behaviors by changing the molecular ratio of Li2O/B2O3 in borate glass comprising Li2O-B2O3-Al2O3 system. The glass transition temperature is decreasing as increasing the amount of Li2O. When we sintered at 450℃, just above the glass transition temperature, the samples did not consolidate well, while the proper sintered samples could be obtained under the higher temperature. We successfully obtained the borate glass ceramics phases by melt-quenching method, and the sintering characteristics are investigated. Future studies could explore optimizing ion conductivity through refining processing conditions, adjusting the glass former-to-modifier ratio, and incorporating additional Li salt to enhance the ionic conductivity.

Microwave dielectric properties and multilayer characteristics $(1-x)BiNbO_4-xCaNb_2O_6$ (0${\le}$x${\le}$1.0) ceramics were investigated as a function of $CaNb_2O_6$ content. In the composition range of 0.25${\le}$x${\le}$0.75, the mixture phases of $BiNbO_4$ with stibotantalate structure and $CaNb_2O_6$ with columbite structure were detected and secondary phase or phase transition were not detected. Dielectric constant (K) of $(1-x)BiNbO_4-xCaNb_2O_6$ ceramics was largely dependent on the existing phase and could be estimated by the dielectric mixing rule calculated from maxwell equation. Typically, dielectric constant (K) of 26, quality factor (Qf) of 4300 GHz and Temperature Coefficient of resonant Frequency (TCF) of -18 ppm/${\circ}C$ were obtained for $0.5BiNbO_4-0.5CaNb_2O_6$ specimens with 0.8 wt% $CuV_2O_6$ sintered at 1000${\circ}C$ for 3h. The deviation of X-Y shrinkage and camber value of the multilayers obtained from $0.5BiNbO_4-0.5CaNb_2O_6$ green sheet sintered at 850∼950${\circ}C$ for 20 min. were smaller than those of $BiNbO_4$ multilayers.

The aim of this study was to investigate effect of specimen preparation method on the microtensile bond strength of veneering ceramic to zirconia core. Materials and methods: Cylindrical Lava zirconia block (3M ESPE, Seefeld, Germany) was cut into discs using a diamond disc. After sintering, the core specimens were placed in an adjustable mold and veneered with Lava ceram (3M ESPE, Seefeld, Germany). The disc shaped specimen of group 1 was cut into microbars ($1{\times}1{\times}7\;mm^3$) using a low speed diamond disc under water cooling (n = 15). The specimen of group 2 was cut into microbars ($1.2{\times}1.2{\times}7\;mm^3$) in the same way. Whereafter the microbars were trimmed ($1{\times}1{\times}7\;mm^3$) using a thick diamond disc under water cooling (n = 15). The microtensile bond strength was tested in a microtensile tester (Instron 8848, $Instron^{(R)}$ Co., Norwood, USA). Fractured microtensile specimens were analyzed under a stereomicroscope (MZ6, Leica Microsystems GmbH, Wetzlar, Germany) at magnification ${\times}30$. Results: The microtensile bond strength of group 1 ($28.8{\pm}7.0\;MPa$) was significantly higher than group 2 ($11.0{\pm}33\;MPa$) (P=.00). Conclusion: It appears advisable to avoid the trimming action, especially high strength ceramic specimens.
The effects of compositions of binders on the rheological properties of mixtures and the preparation conditions on the formation of defects and the debinding characteristics of compacts for the injection molding of ceramic powders (65 wt% aluminaㆍ35 wt% feldspar) were studied. Ceramic powders were coated with 2 wt% of stearic acid and then mixed with 15, 20, and 25 wt% of Paraffin Wax (PW) and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) as binders at $160^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. Rheological properties were investigated by using capillary rheometer. Apparent viscosities of mixtures were 80∼300 Paㆍs at 1,000$s^{-1}$ of a shear rate, it was good for the injection molding and depending on the compositions of binders. Short shot was formed at 15H5P5 (the ratio of HDPE : PW=5 : 5 in 15 wt% of binders) compacts without injection pressures and any noticeable defects were not formed at 45 kgf/$cm^{2}$ in 20H5P5 compacts. PW and HDPE were removed by the solvent extraction and thermal debinding method. Thermal debinding of HDPE at $450^{\circ}C$ for 5 h, which followed the extraction of PW was using n-heptane solvent at $70^{\circ}C$ for 5 h. Continuous pores in compacts, which facilitate the removal of HDPE by the thermal debinding, were found to form in the compacts when PW was removed by the solvent extraction. The optimum composition of binder at which binder was removed by thermal debinding without defects while maintaining the compact strength was 20H5P5. Bulk density, porosity and 3-point bending strength of 20H5P5 compact sintered at 1,30$0^{\circ}C$ for 5 h were 2.8, < 3%, and 2,400 kgf/$cm^{2}$, respectively, and can be used as a structural materials.
$YBaCo_2O_{5+{\delta}}$ oxide was synthesized by solid state reaction and a typical dense membrane has been prepared using as-prepared powder by unilateral pressing and sintering at $1,180^{\circ}C$. The $YBaCo_2O_{5+{\delta}}$ membraneswas analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). XRD analysis showed the double layered perovskite structure was observed over $1,150^{\circ}C$ without impurities. Oxygen permeation was measured in the temperature range from 750 to $950^{\circ}C$ according to oxygen partial pressure difference between feed and permeation side. The oxygen permeation flux increased with increasing temperature and oxygen partial pressure and the maximum oxygen flux of $YBaCo_2O_{5+{\delta}}$ membrane with 1.0 mm thickness was about 0.15 mL/$cm^2{\cdot}min$ at $950^{\circ}C$ and $PO_2$ = 0.42 atm. The activation energy for oxygen permeation decreased with decreasing oxygen partial pressure to be 76.0 kJ/mol at the condition of $PO_2$ = 0.21 atm.

The effects of glass composition on the wettability and reactivity with $ZrO_2$substrate was evaluated and fabrication variables and glass compositions was investigated. Various glass compositions was investigated. Alkaline earth silicate glass show good wettability and lower viscosity and crystallization of glass could be prevented by $B_2O_3$.The sealant glass begin to wet on $ZrO_2$substrate below $900^{\circ}C$ and porosity occurred in various glass compositions, the crystallization and porosity in the glass could be prevented by the addition of flux into glass composition. But flowability and reactivity of glass with $ZrO_2$substrate was enhanced. Processing variables should be optimized to reduce the porosity by enhancing the sintering of glass powder. Many silicate glasses were investigated for the applications of high temperature sealants. Wetting and bonding of glass was good enough to seal together between $ZrO_2$and other ceramic components of SOFC. But porosity and reaction layer were occurred in the sealant glass. It will be possible to produce glass sealant without porosity and reaction layer at the interface by optimization of processing variable and modify the glass compositions. In present study, wettability of glass-filler composite was investigated. The porosity, shape of filler and interfacial reactions of sealant glass with fillers were examined.

The composites were fabricated by adding 0, 15, 30, 45[vol.%] $ZrB_2$ powders as a second phase to SiC matrix. The physical, mechanical and electrical properties of electroconductive SiC ceramic composites by spark plasma sintering(SPS) were investigated. Reactions between ${\beta}$-SiC and $ZrB_2$ were not observed in the XRD and the phase analysis of the electroconductive SiC ceramic composites. The relative density of mono ${\beta}$-SiC, ${\beta}$-SiC+15[vol.%]$ZrB_2$, ${\beta}$-SiC+30[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ and ${\beta}$-SiC+45[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ composites are respectively 99.24[%], 87.53[%], 96.41[%] and 98.11[%] Phase analysis of the electroconductive SiC ceramic composites by XRD revealed mostly of ${\beta}$-SiC, $ZrB_2$ and weakly of $ZrO_2$ phase. The flexural strength showed the lowest of 114.44[MPa] for ${\beta}$-SiC+15[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ powders and showed the highest of 210.75[MPa] for composite no added with $ZrB_2$ powders at room temperature. The trend of the mechanical properties of the electroconductive SiC ceramic composites is accorded with the trend of the relative density. The electrical resistivity of the electroconductive SiC ceramic composites decreased with increased $ZrB_2$ contents. The electrical resistivity of mono ${\beta}$-SiC, ${\beta}$-SiC+15[vol.%]$ZrB_2$, ${\beta}$-SiC+30[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ and ${\beta}$-SiC+45[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ composites are respectively $4.57{\times}10^{-1},\;2.13{\times}10^{-1},\;2.68{\times}10^{-2}\;and\;1.99{\times}10^{-2}[{\Omega}{\cdot}cm]$ at room temperature. The electrical resistivity of mono ${\beta}$-SiC and ${\beta}$-SiC+15[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ are negative temperature coefficient resistance(NTCR) in temperature ranges from $25[^{\circ}C]\;to\; 100[^{\circ}C]$. The electrical resistivity of ${\beta}$-SiC+30[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ and ${\beta}$-SiC+45[vol.%]ZrB_2$ are positive temperature coefficient resistance(PTCR) in temperature ranges from $25[^{\circ}C]\;to\;100[^{\circ}C]$. It is convinced that ${\beta}$-SiC+30[vol.%]$ZrB_2$ composites by SPS for heater or ignitors can be applied.

The formation and dissolution of hydroxides, carbonates and hydroxyapatite (HAp), which depend on the pH of solution, are important factor for the preparation of homogeneous and fine HAp, $Ca_{10-x}(HPO_4)_x(PO_4)_{6-x}(OH)_{2-x}(x=0)$, ceramic powder from the $Ca-PO_4-H_2O$ system. Since the solubility of each complex ion is a linear function of pH, the solubility diagram can be obtained by plotting the logarithmic molar concentrations calculated from the values of the equilibrium constants and solubility products for hydroxides, carbonates, and hydroxyapatite. The optimum pH condition for the formation of single phase $Ca_{10-x}(HPO_4)_x(PO_4)_{6-x}(OH)_{2-x}(x=0)$ powder in $Ca-PO_4-H_2O$ system at $25^{\circ}C$ was estimated as $10.5{\pm}0.5$ through the theoretical consideration. The HAp powder dried at $80^{\circ}C$ showed a fine agglomerated particles with a size of 75 nm. The HAp powder calcined at $1,000^{\circ}C$ consisted of nearly homogeneous particles with a size of 450 nm. Even though the dried HAp particles consisted of agglomeration, mechanical properties were superior due to fine microstructure after sintering.
