The news coverage of Sewol Ferry catastrophe has reprimanded from numbers of people because of false reports and mediamorphosis such as distorted news. Thus, the purpose of this study is to examine the news coverage of television news programs about the Sewol Ferry catastrophe. Specifically, this study was conducted to figure out problems with the disaster news reports of several broadcasting stations such as, KBS, MBC, SBS and JTBC. Furthermore, the study also explores about how they reported without following the rules of disaster news coverage and policy of disaster news coverage by content analysis.

This study was designed to look at a gap between what is reported and what is real, based on 'virtuality' shown in the media coverage of the Sewol ferry disaster. The way the Korean media reported the disaster raised serious concern in describing realities as the coverage was dotted with omitted, diluted, misleading, false and biased information, dubbed as the sinking of journalism by the Special Committee of the Korea Broadcasting Journalist Association. Virtuality can be problematic in journalism since users, when frequently exposed to 'mediated reality' or mediated presentment, often consider it actual and respond to it, rather than reacting to 'actual reality'. Many studies have found that media users tend to perceive mediated reality as an actual outside world. This paper aimed to explain signification of media reporting and limitations of user perception by reviewing major discussions and arguments on virtuality in previous research and history of thoughts. It was easy to link virtuality of mediated reality to the role of the media, which impact public opinion and change the flow of an event, and to other concepts such as the socialization of power, social control and social hegemony.

It has been 1 year since Sewol Ferry disaster occurred in the Gwanmaedo sea of Jindo, Jeollanamdo, on Apr. 16, 2014. The Sewol Ferry Disaster which took 304 lives and had some victims still missed has become the largest tragic accident in Korea since 2010. Although one year has passed since the disaster, there is no psychological communication research on the trauma of the victims' families. This study first investigated the actual state of the Sewol Ferry victims' parents suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after their losses of children by the disaster. This study revealed that the victims' families suffer from physical and psychological the PTSD but neglect treatment. The PTSD still influences their daily life. It was observed that the victims' families have a lot of difficulties with interpersonal relationship, relationship with co-workers, residence, values, and other kinds of daily life. Given that the victims' families have a great deal of PTSD after the disaster, the academic circle needs to make discussions of the issue actively in order to heal the pains of the Sewol Ferry victims' families who are unattended in our society.

지난 4월과 5월 온 나라를 눈물짓게 했던 세월호 사고는 우리사회에 많은 시사점을 던졌다. 과정을 무시한 채 수익률을 올리는 것에만 집중할 때 간과할 수 있는 매우 중요한 문제에 대해 다시 한 번 생각해 보는 기회를 제공했다. 이윤과 가격이 최우선의 선택조건이 될 때 벌어질 수 있는 일을 생각하며, 인쇄업계의 최저가낙찰제를 떠올렸다. 최저가 낙찰제가 인쇄업계를 골병들게 만드는 무리한 가격경쟁을 부추기는 중요한 요인의 하나이기 때문이다.

우리 사회가 가진 성에 대한 고정 관념과 편견이 깨어지려면 어느 정도의 시간이 필요한가? 이 글은 계간「진리 자유」1991년 여름호에 실린 글이다. 15년의 긴 세월이 무색할 정도로 현재도 거의 달라지지 않은 상태지만, 사회 여러 측면에서 서서히 바뀌고 깨어지는 흐름이 보이는 것도 사실이다. 성 인식의 과거와 현재, 미래를 생각하며 이 글을 다시 보고자 한다.

Increases in disasters and damage caused by the disasters in modern society, have a negative impact on local economy. In particular, a local economic downturn leads to a deterioration in quality of life of local residents and causes mental and material damage. Therefore, in order to achieve stable and sustainable local economic development, it is necessary to strengthen the resilience of the local economy. This study aims to estimate indicators of local economic resilience of Jindo County after the Sewol Ferry disaster, analyze a trend of the economic level after the disaster through time series data and suggest improvement plans of the local crisis management and restoration policy that considers future economic resilience. Results of this study showed that a decrease in the number of tourists and of workers in related industries hit tourism industry, causing a loss to the local economy and that an increase in a drinking rate of and stress awareness rate of local residents was a stress factor due to disaster impacts. These findings provides policy implications that it is necessary to make efforts for improving the depressed local image by utilizing local resources in the area, to build a sustainable long-term economic recovery policy and to provide psychological treatment and the relevant government and local government's support for relieving the stress of local residents due to the disaster impacts.

According to precedent research of disaster economics, most of the studies are either based on belated macroeconomic indicators or are limited to specific industries. It is certain that preventing disaster is important, but immediate analysis and reconstruction policy are crucial as well. This research analyzed the ripple effect of consumer spending followed by April 16 ferry disaster and MERS outbreak; it was done by applying credit card company's real-time big data with Marketing Mix Modeling. The main focus of this research is to see if it is possible to predict the scale of damage during ongoing disasters. It is found that setting up weekly MMM and moving the timeline draws significance conclusion. When disasters or events occur in future, this research may be the basis of building quick and intuitive indicator to monitor possible effects.

This paper purposes to identify who is/are in charge of KBS broadcasting programming in view of freedom of broadcasting and interest of audience under the circumstance that Blue House put pressure on KBS to refrain from reporting Sewol Ferry disaster. For this purpose this study has reviewed prior theses, books, journals, laws, and cases, etc. It is analyzed that principal agents in charge of freedom of broadcasting journalism and programming are KBS employees in charge of producing broadcasting programs and KBS chief programming officer, who is appointed by KBS CEO. KBS CEO, who can easily be influenced by governmental pressure in terms of KBS structure, should avoid interfering with programming and producing directly or indirectly for freedom of the press and public interests.

연안여객운송은 도서와 육지의 인적 및 물적 교류가 이루어질 수 있도록 하는 유일한 교통수단으로서 그 중요성이 매우 크다. 그럼에도 불구하고 연안여객선에서의 수익성이 낮다는 이유로 그 중요성을 인식하지 못하고 있는 것이 사실이다. 그렇지만 앞으로의 연안여객 수요에 따라 향후 도서민들에게 안정적인 서비스를 제공하기 위해 선박의 추가 투입 및 시설 확충을 위한 의사결정에서 가장 기본이 되는 것이 연안여객의 수요를 예측하는 것이다. 본 논문 에서는 가장 많은 여객 수요를 가지고 있는 제주지역 중에서도 세월호 이후에 끊긴 인천과 제주 항로에 초점을 맞추어 연구를 진행할 것이다. 2007년 1월부터 2013년 12월 까지 84개의 월별 자료를 바탕으로 예측 기법 중에서도 계량적 기법인 시계열 분석을 통해 여객 수요를 예측하고자 한다. 예측 작업에 있어 항상 우수한 성과를 보이는 단 하나의 모형은 존재하지 않기 때문에 예측에 수반된 불확실성을 줄이기 위해 다양한 예측모형을 사용한다. 여러 방법론 중에서 가장 적합도가 높은 모형을 찾아 여객 수요를 예측하고 결과를 도출하였다.

최근 이상기후로 인한 홍수, 산사태 등 자연재난 및 각종 사건사고 등 사회적 재난에 따른 인명 피해가 매년 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 특히, 재난에 대한 노출도가 높고 재난이 빈번하게 발생하는 일본, 미국과 달리 높지 않은 우리나라의 경우 실제 재난상황에 직면할 경우 상대적으로 낮은 생존율을 보이고 있으며 이러한 대표적인 사례가 바로 올해 발생한 세월호 침몰사고에 따른 인명 피해를 들 수 있다. 이에 사후약방문식으로 많은 전문가들이 체계적인 대응 매뉴얼 부재, 정부의 일사분란한 대응의 부족을 언급하고 있는 실정이나 정작 재난에 직면한 일반 국민들이 평상시에도 이해하기도 힘든 매뉴얼의 대응수칙을 재난상황에 따를 수 있을 것이라고 생각하는 것은 "재난에서 재난을 배울 수 없는" 우리나라의 현주소 그 자체를 보여주는 것이라 할 수 있다. 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 재난 발생시 신속한 대응이 가능한 수준의 직관적 재난대처 요령을 국민들에게 알려주는 것이 무엇보다 요구된다 할 수 있다.
