  • Muslim의 수학은 천문학과 마찬가지로 종교적 필요성이 있었다. 기하학적 지식은 매일 예배하는 Mecca의 방향을 정하기 위한 것이었다면, 산술과 대수는 주로 제일을 계산하기 위해 필요했다. Muslim의 수학은 결국 종교적 욕구를 충족시키는데 끝없을 뿐 과학 일반에의 응용은 없었으나, 전 인류에게 그 지식을 보급시킴으로서 수학사상 중요한 위치를 차지한다. Muslim의 문화가 일어나는 시대는 10세기로 생각할 수 있으며, 특히 이 시기에 학술연구가 시작됐다. 11세기는 Muslim의 황금시기이며 실험과 이론의 두분야에서 눈부신 발달이 있었다. 12세기에는 퇴락의 과정을 밝으면서도 그 문화적 유산은 서구세계에 넘겼다. 본 눈문에서는 산술, 대수, 삼각법을 중심으로 이들 학문의 형성과정과 지식의 전달과정을 살핀다.

  • The psychology of Carl G. Jung is often called an "ancilla religionis"(servant of religion, James Heisig), by which Jung's understanding of the unconsciousness of human being as the religious one is well expressed. According to Jung the dichotomy between the consciousness and the unconsciousness of men is reconciled in the various religious symbols of the world religions. He also asserted that the religious symbols must be understood and interpreted by a symbolical way. When the religious symbols are understood literally and dogmatically, they lost their dynamic power to bring salvation to men. In this paper I try to understand the essence of the symbolical and intuitional understanding of the exclusiveness of Jesus Christ. The confession of the Christianity that only Christ, once for all, could bring the salvation to the whole humankind is to be interpreted by a symbolical and intuitional way. That means, Christ is to be understood as a always new being at every time when he is confessed as a salvator. Christ as a symbol could never be a historical past. I mentioned about the understanding of Buddha by Muneyoshi Yanagi, a Japanese Shinto Buddhist, in order to show how such a symbolical and intuitional understanding of the Christ could be possible.

  • 중국 도교와 일본 신도는 동아시아 고유의 종교 사상이자 정신세계의 근간을 형성하고 있다. 두 종교는 각각의 독특한 창세신화를 바탕으로 신들의 유래와 인간에 대한 해석, 그리고 신과 인간의 관계를 신화적으로 묘사하고 있으며, 지금까지 전래되고 있다. 도교는 자연에 삼라만상을 이루는 천사상, 무상한 자연 속에서 장생 할 수 있는 신선사상, 노장자의 도가사상이다. 신도는 모든 물체 안에 영이 존재한다고 믿는 원시자연종교의 형태로써 일본인에게 자연은 경외의 대상이었다. 이러한 도교의 신선사상과 신도의 자연 신에서 신인관계의 차이점이 존재하며 발전하였다고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 도교와 신도의 신인관계는 애니메이션에 차용되었으며, 극의 서사와 상상력을 드러내는 매개 역할을 하고 있다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 도교와 신도의 신인관계가 연출된 애니메이션 영화를 중심으로 사례 비교 연구를 진행하고자 한다.

  • In Europe, the diversity in religions, cultures, languages and historical backgrounds is enormous. World War II and the Soviet Regime have played a large part in this and the flow of refugees from other continents increases the pluralism. How can religious education add to bridging between differences? The language across European countries is different, literally between countries, but also figuratively speaking and even inside individual countries. These differences occur in cultural sense and across age groups as well. Secondary education has the task to form young people to become firmly rooted people who can hold their own in society. It is essential that they learn to examine their own core values and their roots. Recognising their values should be a main focus of religious education. However, schools are currently accommodating increasing numbers of non-religious pupils. What role do religious values still play in this situation? How do pupils feel about active involvement in religious institutions, and about basing life choices on religious beliefs? Can other, non-religious values be detected which could form the basis for value-oriented personal formation? Research of these subjects has been ongoing in the Netherlands for more than twenty years and is currently being expanded to the Czech Republic and(former East) Germany. These are also secularized countries but have a very different history. Does the history and context of these countries play a role, and does this show in the values that are important to pupils? A comparative pilot study is being conducted as start of this broadening perspective geared towards greater insight into the values of pupils in these three European countries. This information helps to design appropriate new forms of religious value-oriented worldview education.

A Study on the Great Nest of Being in Major Systems of Religious Thought in the World: With Daesoon Thought as a Comparison (세계 주요 종교사상의 존재의 대둥지(The Great Nest of Being) 고찰 - 대순사상과 비교하여 -)

  • 'The Great Nest of Being (The Great Chain of Being)' is a key ontological concept in Perennial Philosophy. The Great Nest of Being shows the depth of the world's religions that have existed historically, and in this context, they represent holarchies of existence and consciousness. This paper examines the nests of various beings in order to grasp the depths of the world's mainstream religions, and reveals that the great nest of being that appear in the Daesoon Thought has the characteristic of synthesizing other nests that have emerged previously in history. According to Perennial Philosophy, the differences among different religions in regards to ultimate reality are not differences in reality but merely differences in semantics. In other words, these differences are only 'different expressions of the same ultimate reality.' Thus, linguistically, ultimate reality in the great nest of being can be summarized as the 'same in what is signifié (signified, 記意)' and 'different in the signifiant (signifier, 記標).' As stated in a preceding study; however, ultimate reality in Daesoon Thought is both transcendent and personal, as well as intrinsic and impersonal. This fact is specifically stated in the Four Tenets (4大 宗旨) of Daesoon Thought. In other words, the Tenets of Daesoon implicitly acknowledge not only the concepts of reality and the direction that emerges from the base of existence in existing systems of religious thought, but also can encompass the ideologies of those systems of religious thought. Considering the four quadrants as the Kosmos (AQAL), it encompasses a universal ideology. Therefore, the tenets of Daesoon Thought encompass the same significance (meaning) of the major systems of religious thought throughout the world in regards to ultimate reality and provide a clue to the solution to the presence of different signifiers (signs).

  • 지난 8월 멕시코시티에서는 제 17차 국제에이즈회의가 개최되었다. 라틴아메리카 지역에서 최초로 열린 이번 행사에는 전 세계에서 약 25,000여 명의 에이즈 관련 학자, 단체, 기업, 감염인들이 참가하여 역대 최다를 기록을 수립했다. 본 행사는 멕시코 정부, 국제에이즈협회(IAS), UNAIDS, WHO와 같은 국제 기구 및 전 세계 감염인 연대, 지역사회 관계자, 종교관계자들이 합동으로 주관하여 개최한 행사로 에이즈와 관련한 생의학, 사회과학, 보건학, 인권 등의 각 분야별로 열띤 학술발표와 토론 경험의 교류가 이루어졌다.

Islam believes in absolute monotheism that God Lord only determined by the 'slave' and having the determination to serve the religious, political, social and cultural nature ingrained, and closely adjacent to each other geographically, to focus on in quency characteristics higher than the other civilizations are appearing. To assert the doctrine of non-violent Islam 'Koran' and 'knife' became known as the violent images appear in the armed conflict between the culture method. Today the world is facing a clash of civilizations is derived from the religious conflicts and confrontation and friction between the nations appear. In particular, the deep religious roots of Christianity and Islam, the Arab-Israeli conflict, including the right to live in strife confrontation between Christianity and Islam was spread.   • 인도는 나라가 아닌 대륙이라 한다. 그러나 우리의 관심영역은 불교를 중심으로 한 종교.철학에 국한됐었다. 80년대 들어서야 제3세계라는 동병상련의 연대감에 의해 근대사 및 리얼리즘 문학작품이 소개됐다. 다소 '장님 코끼리 만지기'였지만, 올해들어 "마하바라타" "라마야나"의 번역 등을 계기로 인도문화에 대한 소개가 본격화될 조짐을 보이고 있다.
