The purpose of this study is to examine the development process of Hallyu and to find ways to develop Hallyu through discussion with students. Since the 1990s, Hallyu started as a popular phenomenon of Korean culture, and has changed into a New Hallyu that aims for mutual cultural exchange. In detail, the development process of Hallyu was examined by dividing the classification of Hallyu from 1st to 4th. This study utilized the theme of Hallyu, one of the topics covered in the class of Literature and Popular Culture in the first semester of 2022. This is because the Hallyu has spread Korean popular culture all over the world. This study suggested a plan for the development of Hallyu by students and researchers using the discussion about Hallyu.

우주라이크[WouldYouLike]에서 2014년 9월부터 공식적으로 제공한 APOD 번역서비스를 소개하고 지난 7개월간 대중의 반응에 대하여 논의한다. APOD는 Astronomy Picture of the Day의 약자로 우리말로는 오늘의 천문사진이다. APOD는 1995년 미국 미시건 대학교 교수인 Robert Nemiroff와 미항공우주국 나사의 연구원인 Jerry Bonnell에 의해서 처음 만들어졌다. 2014년 까지 일본어와 중국어를 포함한 세계의 다양한 언어로 제공 되었지만 유독 한국어만은 제외 되었었다. 비영리단체인 우주라이크[WouldYouLike]에서는 영어가 중심이 되는 APOD를 대한민국의 국민에게 한국어로 제공하기 위해서 2013년부터 미국 운영진과 논의을 시작하고 모바일 연동 가능한 홈페이지를 개설한 끝에 공식적인 한국어 서비스를 시작 할 수 있었다. 이번 발표를 통해 APOD가 무엇인지 소개하고 2014년부터 공식 번역이 시작된 이후 관찰되었던 홈페이지 방문자들의 반응에 관한 내용를 보여주고자 한다.

최근 한류(韓流) 콘텐츠의 글로벌화로 인해 콘텐츠가 전 세계로 수출됨에 따라 글로벌 환경에 적합한 콘텐츠에서의 단어 선택이 매우 중요하게 되었다. 멀티미디어 콘텐츠에서의 글로벌 단어 선택을 위해서는 각 나라의 비속어나 욕설 단어를 회피하고 오해하지 않을 말과 단어를 선택하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 글로벌 콘텐츠를 위한 금기 언어 검색 시스템을 개발한다. 이를 위하여 한국어를 영어로 변환하기 위한 음소 변환 모델을 개발하고, 변환된 음소와 금기 언어 검색 데이터베이스를 개발하였다.

불꽃놀이는 한국명 연화(煙火), 중국명 폭죽(爆竹), 일본명 하나비(花火), 영어명 파이어웍스 디스플레이(Fireworks display) 표기되며 화약류를 연소 폭발시켜서 빛, 소리, 형태, 연기, 연막, 시간지연, 운동에너지 등을 조합하여 예술적인 감각을 연출시키는 공학으로써 공예술학으로 불랴는 일종의 예술작품이다. 우리나라의 연화기술은 세계적이다. 1980년대에 개발이 완료되었고, 1990년대에 완숙단계흘 거쳐 향후 2010년 이후에는 환경안전을 고려한 최첨단 나노 생명공학으로 발전하여야 할 것이다. 즐거운 불꽃축제 후에 환경오염방지 대책과 비상체제 운영능력, 저장소관리, 불발탄 및 폐기물처리, 시민의식 향상 등이 더욱 요망된다. 본 논문은 올해 제4회를 맞는 부산불꽃축제를 중심으로 현황 및 발전방향과 개선안을 제시하였다.

글로벌 시대를 살고 있는 우리나라 사람들에게 가장 큰 장벽은 외국어이다. 영어,중국어 등 외국어를 학습하기 위해 온갖 노력을 했지만 좀처럼 효과를 보지 못한 경험을 갖고 있는 사람이 적지 않다. 본 연구에서는 HMD를 이용하여 가상현실 세계에서 외국어를 학습할 수 있는 외국어 교육 콘텐츠를 개발하고자 한다. 외국어 공부를 많이 했어도 실제 외국인을 만나면 울렁거려 제대로 실력을 발휘하지 못할 때 가 많은데 본 연구에서 제안하는 시스템은 가상공간에서 외국어 과외 선생님을 만나 외국어 공부를 하고 실제 상황을 연출하여 실습할 수 있어 외국인을 만났을 때의 당황하는 상황을 극복할 수 있어 외국어 교육에 효과적이다.

현재 전 세계 체약국들은 증가하는 항공수요를 충족하고 공역의 이용 효율성 및 항공기 운항의 경제성 등을 제고하기 위해 국제민간항공기구(ICAO)에서 전략적으로 개발하고 채택한 차세대항법시스템(New CNS/ATM, PBN 등)의 각종 항법 및 통신 어플리케이션 등을 도입 적용하고 있다. 이 가운데 AIDC(ATS inter-facility Data Communication)는 조종사와 관제사간 반복적으로 이루어지는 교신(Verbal Communication)사항을 포맷화한 후 데이터로 송출하여 조종사와 관제사 양측 모두의 업무로드를 감소시키며 주파수 점유 시간을 단축시켜 주파수 활용도를 크게 증가시키고 있다. 또한, 비영어권 국가와의 음성 통신시 부정확한 발음 등으로 야기 될 수 있는 인적요인(Human Factor)을 사전 제거하는 등 많은 혜택(Benefits)을 제공하고 있다. 비록 이번 연구에서 항공 AIDC의 모든 요소가 VTS에 1:1 적용 되지는 않지만 AIDC의 주요 요소(TOC, AOC 등)와 우리 해상교통 실정에 맞는 응용 요소(RTOC)를 추가하여 주파수와 관제센터는 다르지만 관제구역이 서로 인접해 있는 구역에 적용시켜 잠재적 위험요소를 사전에 예방하고, 궁극적으로 Service provider로서 이용자 중심의 VTS를 설계하고자 한다.

최근 주목을 받고 있는 디지털교과서를 위해 제안되었던 대부분의 연구 결과는 플래시 기반으로 구성되거나, 전용 클라이언트를 설치해야 하는 등 교과서의 본질에 충실하지 못한 문제를 가지고 있었다. 본 논문에서는 교과서의 본질에 충실하고, 학교에서는 물론이고 집에서도 사용 가능한 e-교과서 구현을 위해 전자책 표준 가운데 전 세계적으로 가장 널리 사용 중인 e-Pub 표준을 적용하고자 하였다. XML 기반의 e-Pub 표준 적용을 위해 초등학교 국어, 영어, 수학 교과서를 분석하였으며, 과목 별로 상이한 구조 표현을 위해 최소한의 요소(element)를 정의함으로써, 저자 별, 과목 별 구조적 특성을 자유롭게 반영할 수 있도록 하였다.

In order to cultivate talented people with national economic influence in the rapidly changing 21st- century modern society, STEM(Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) education has been emphasized in advanced countries such as America and England. In South Korea, STEAM(Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics) education is emphasized by adding Arts. The objective of STEAM education is to strengthen the interest and motivation of learners, to focus on experience, exploration, experimentation, to solve convergent thinking and real-life problems, rather than cramming method of teaching and memorization. This study identifiesan instructional design for converged English, the world's official language, and science which is found in nearly all disciplines. With the development of the 4th industrial revolution based on the PBL model, learners participate in their lessons voluntarily for problem-solving skills. The instructional design based on the ADDIE model consists of 5 procedures: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The goal of fostering talented people with national economic influence is also important, and the teacher in education must recognize the importance of STEAM education and an appropriate instructional design should be studied constantly.

The purpose of this paper is to make a critique of racial aspects of Caribbean literature more ethical through a constant concern with history and political philosophy. The first step I take for this purpose is a comparative reading of C. L. R. James's view of Toussaint L'Ouverture's position and Frantz Fanon's view of race and class in the historical context of the Caribbean power-relations. In so doing, I examine how Toussaint's and Fanon's wills to negotiation were thwarted in the New World history. To elaborate upon this ethico-political approach, I have recourse to the so-called later Derrida, focusing on his books, such as The Politics of Friendship, Of Hospitality, On Cosmopolitanism and Forgiveness, etc. Taking an up-close look at Derrida's thought, I argue that his political contemplation of ethics is as effective as his deconstruction of "otherness" in dealing with the nature of ethnic clashes in both the real world and minority literature. In the second half of my paper, I reexamine the issues of race, gender, and class in the three novels of Jamaica Kincaid - Annie John, Lucy, and The Autobiography of My Mother. It is conceivable that from the feminist perspective Kincaid's fiction has been read as a postcolonial Bildungsroman. In my supplementary attempts to this criticism, I reveal that the teenage narrator's precocious awareness is still under the colonial influence in the Annie John section. My analysis of Lucy contends that the reasons why the white woman fails to make friends with the young black woman should be sought in the long history of the U.S. racial politics. In the section of The Autobiography of My Mother, I discuss how difficult it is for a minority woman to liberate from the spell of history insofar as she is engaged in the issue of identity. In closing, I pose a need of consolation that literature may grant us by becoming able to produce a different interpretation on all the bleaker reality.

Neural Machine Translation (NMT) is gradually breaking down the boundary between human and machine translation. We look at actual cases of human and machine translation and discuss why machine translation needs a human touch. In this paper, we raise three driving questions: Can humans be replaced by machines?; How human translators can remain successful in a NMT-driven world?; Is it possible to eliminate language barrier in the era of NMT and World Englishes? The answers to these questions are all negative. We suggest that machine translation is a useful tool with rapidity, accuracy, and low cost productivity. However, the machine translation is limited in the areas of culture, borrowing, ambiguity, new words and (national) dialects. The machines cannot imitate the emotional and intellectual abilities of human translators since machines are based on machine learning, while humans are on intuition. The machine translation will be a useful tool that does not cause moral problems when using methods such as back translation and human post-editing. To conclude, we propose the blended approach that machine translation cannot be completed without the touch of human translation.
