Selecting the Optimum Condition of Injection Molding Process by the Taguchi Method and Neural Network (다구찌 방법과 신경회로망을 이용한 사출성형 가공공정의 최적 가공조건 선정에 관한 연구)

  • Defining the relationship between the quality of Injection molded parts and the process condition is very complicate because of lots of factors are involved and each factor has a non-linearity. With the development of CAE(Computer Aided Engineering) technology, the estimation of volumetric shrinkage of injection mold parts is possible by computer simulation in spite of restricted application. In this research, the Taguchi method md Neural Network are applied for finding optimal processing condition. The percent of volumetric shrinkage is compared on each case and shows neural network can be successfully applied.

  • In this study, we fabricated and characterized a nanostructured surface based on a plastic injection molding with a local mold heating (LMH) system. A metal mold core with a closed packed nano convex array (CVA) was achieved by integrated engineering procedures: (1) master template fabrication by anodic aluminum oxidation (AAO), (2) nickel electroforming (NE) process, and (3) post-processing by precision machining. The nickel mold core was utilized to replicate a surface with a closed packed nano concave-array (CCA) based on injection molding using cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) as a plastic material. In particular, an LMH system was introduced to enhance transcription quality of the nano structures by delaying solidification of molten polymer near the surface of the mold core.

  • The sheet parts are formed with dies conventionally. But this conventional forming process is not suited to small volume and varied production for the reason of high cost. For the solution of this problem, a new forming process, which is called CNC incremental sheet forming, is being introduced. This process can form sheet parts without die, and is very well suited to small volume and varied production in space flight and automobile. In this paper, dieless CNC forming system based on a machining center is developed. A special device to grasp and pull the blank sheet built in the machining center and tool path generation S/W from STL file of 3-D model are developed. Several sheet parts are incrementally formed to verify the effectiveness of the developed system.

  • 본 연구는 저탄소 녹색성장의 국가 정책에 맞추어 주류 제조과정에서 발생하는 생전분발효 부산물인 주박(酒粕, 술지게미)을 펠릿화(pellet) 하는 것이 목적이다. 주류 제조과정에서 발생하는 주박을 100g당 물 100ml 비율로 섞어 충분히 반죽 후 녹즙기로 압축 성형화 하는 과정을 대신 하여 주박을 뽑았다. 이 주박을 온열 건조기에서 20시간이상 건조 시키면 완성이 된다. 주박펠릿은 폐기물을 재활용한 것이기 때문에 열량-가격대비를 비교해 보았을 때 등유 8950kcal-1000원/L, 경유 9050kcal-1433원/L, 면세경유 9050kcal-821/L, 우드 1812kcal-400원/kg, 주박 1989kcal-200원/kg으로 훨씬 저렴하며 열량도 높다. 주류업체에서 주박을 폐기물 처리하므로 가격 책정은 어렵다. $CO_2$ 발생량도 적어 온실가스를 절감시킬 수 있는 친환경적인 청정연료이다. 또한 연료로서 운송, 저장 및 보관이 편리하다. 주류업체도 주박 처리로 인해 연간 12억 정도 사용된다. 폐기물을 에너지화 함으로써 타 신재생에너지에 비해 초기 투자 비용이나 연료비가 저렴하다. 그리고 태우고 남은 회분은 토양개량제로 다시 재활용 되기 때문에 무해백익하다. 현재 폐목재를 사용한 우드펠릿은 원료를 수입해야 한다는 점과 삼림자원의 부족시 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 그리고 폐목재를 분쇄한 후 가공 및 성형을 해야 하기 때문에 주박이 효율성이 좋다. 현재 세계에서 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 석유나 화석연료의 매장량이 고갈 되어가고 있다. 하지만 주박은 술이 사라지지 않는 한 계속적으로 발생하기 때문에 무궁무진하게 사용이 가능하다. 또한 주류 제조시 발생하는 주박은 바로 성형 및 가공이 용이하다. 현재 주박으로 만든 펠릿은 전 세계적으로 전무하다. 막걸리 및 전통술의 특화사업으로 주박량은 더욱 증가하고 있다. 더욱이 2012년부터 해양 투기 금지로 주박 폐기물 처리가 힘들어진다. 주박 폐기물을 펠릿화해서 에너지원으로 사용하면 해결이 된다. 주박의 에너화를 통해 재생산의 열원으로 사용되고 펠릿을 연료원과 더불어 기계적인 시스템을 개발한다면 저탄소 녹색성장인 국가 정책과 부합된 미래형 에너지가 될 것이다.

  • Demand for Ti-6Al-4V alloy is increasing in various industries because of its superior strength to weight and high-temperature strength properties. However, due to its low formability at room temperature, it is formed at high temperature, where its productivity and efficiency are low. The current high-temperature forming method has many limitations because it involves heating the specimen by heating the lower mold. It is expected that a process using high frequency induction heating, which can locally heat the product, can improve its productivity. In addition, time and cost can be saved if the process is simulated in advance with a reliable analysis. In this paper, we verified the reliability of the analysis by comparing the result of heating the specimen to 850 ℃ by high frequency induction heating and the temperature obtained through the co-simulation analysis.

The Development of a Failure Diagnosis System for High-Speed Manufacturing of a Paper Cup-Forming Machine (다품종 종이용기의 고속 생산을 위한 고장 진단 시스템 개발)

  • Recently, as demand for various paper containers has rapidly grown, it is inevitable that paper cup-forming machines have increased their manufacturing speed. However, the faster manufacturing speed naturally brings more frequent manufacturing failures, which decreases manufacturing efficiency. As such, it is necessary to develop a system that monitors the failures in real time and diagnoses the failure progress in advance. In this research, a paper cup-forming machine diagnosis system was developed. Three major failure targets, paper deviation, temperature failure, and abnormal vibration, which dominantly affect the manufacturing process when they occur, were monitored and diagnosed. To evaluate the developed diagnosis system, extensive experiments were performed with the actual data gathered from the paper cup-forming machine. Furthermore, the desired system validation was obtained. The proposed system is expected to anticipate and prevent serious promising failures in advance and lower the final defect rate considerably.

Development of Analysis System for Sheet Metal Forming (박판금속 성형공정 해석시스템 개발)

  • An analysis system for sheet metal forming(SAT_STAMP) has been developed to improve the design and tryout process by predicting the deformation behavior more precisely. This analysis system consists of forming analysis, springback analysis and post processor modules. The more accurate prediction of stress history can be achieved due to the improved contact algorithm. Continuous simulation of sequential processes can be carried out conveniently without interruption by the improved data management of the developed system. The error of data transfer between forming analysis and springback analysis is minimized using the proper shell element. Several benchmark test results and practical results are presented to show the effectiveness and reliability of this program.

  • A flexible die, which is composed of a number of punches with adjusted heights to form a three-dimensional curved surface, is a crucial part of a flexible forming technology. In this study, the punch and control system of the flexible die were designed. The flexible die is divided into three modules, namely, punch, control and joint, and the corresponding modules were developed. The punch module materializes a three-dimensional forming surface by the control module, which is composed of an AC servo motor set and a linear guide. The joint module is necessary for the sequential motion between the servo motor set and the punch module. A sequential motion algorithm for the AC servo motor set, that uses the data of the punch relative heights, was also proposed. Finally, a flexible stretch forming test was carried out using the presently designed flexible die.

  • It is well known, for many years, that deep drawability can be improved by applying variable blank holding force. To apply variable blank holding force during cup during, we set up pressure controlling system on experimental hydraulic press, and the pressure control system is often called NC(Numerically Controlled) cushion system Using the NC cushion system we compared the drawability of square steel cups with NC cushion and that with conventional cushion. The results show drawability is greatly improved when the pressure control curve is designed in a S-shaped curve. This paper includes design details of the NC cushion system and experimental analysis of drawability with experimental NC cushion system.
