Development of LiDAR-Based MRM Algorithm for LKS System (LKS 시스템을 위한 라이다 기반 MRM 알고리즘 개발)

  • The LIDAR sensor, which provides higher cognitive performance than cameras and radar, is difficult to apply to ADAS or autonomous driving because of its high price. On the other hand, as the price is decreasing rapidly, expectations are rising to improve existing autonomous driving functions by taking advantage of the LIDAR sensor. In level 3 autonomous vehicles, when a dangerous situation in the cognitive module occurs due to a sensor defect or sensor limit, the driver must take control of the vehicle for manual driving. If the driver does not respond to the request, the system must automatically kick in and implement a minimum risk maneuver to maintain the risk within a tolerable level. In this study, based on this background, a LIDAR-based LKS MRM algorithm was developed for the case when the normal operation of LKS was not possible due to troubles in the cognitive system. From point cloud data collected by LIDAR, the algorithm generates the trajectory of the vehicle in front through object clustering and converts it to the target waypoints of its own. Hence, if the camera-based LKS is not operating normally, LIDAR-based path tracking control is performed as MRM. The HAZOP method was used to identify the risk sources in the LKS cognitive systems. B, and based on this, test scenarios were derived and used in the validation process by simulation. The simulation results indicated that the LIDAR-based LKS MRM algorithm of this study prevents lane departure in dangerous situations caused by various problems or difficulties in the LKS cognitive systems and could prevent possible traffic accidents.

A Case Study on the Risk Analysis for the Installation of Measurement Error Verification Facility in Hydrogen Refueling Station (수소 충전소 계량오차 검증 설비 설치를 위한 위험성 분석 사례 연구)

  • In commercial transactions of energy sources using hydrogen charging stations, high-accuracy flow meters are needed to prevent accidents such as overcharging due to inaccurate measurements and to ensure transparency in hydrogen commercial transactions through accurate measurements. This research developed a Corioli-type flowmeter prototype and conducted a risk assessment to prevent accidents during a process change comparison experiment for existing charging stations to verify the measurement performance. A process change section was defined for the installation of measurement facilities for empirical experiments and HAZOP was conducted. In addition, JSA was also conducted to secure the safety of experimenters, such as preventing valve mis-opening during empirical experiments. Measures were established to improve the risk factors derived through HAZOP, and work procedures were established to minimize human errors and ensure the safety of workers through JSA. The design change and system manufacturing for the installation of the metering system were completed by reflecting the risk assessment results, and safety could be confirmed through the performance comparison test of the developed meter prototype. The developed prototype flow meter showed a total of 30 flow measurements under the operating conditions of 70 MPa, and the average error was -1.58% to 3.96%. Such a metering error was analyzed to have the same performance as a flow meter installed and operated for commercial use.

Establishment of Navigational Risk Assessment Model Combining Dynamic Ship Domain and Collision Judgement Model (선박동적영역과 충돌위험평가식을 결합한 항해위험성평가모델 전개)

  • This paper considers the Marine Traffic Risk Assessment for fixed and moving targets, which threaten officers during a voyage. The Collision Risk Assessment Formula was calculated based on a dynamic ship domain considering the length, speed and maneuvering capability of a vessel. In particular, the Navigation Risk Assessment Model that is used to quantitatively index the effect of a ship's size, speed, etc. has been reviewed and improved using a hybrid combination of a vessel's dynamic area and the Collision Risk Assessment Formula. Accordingly, a new type of Marine Traffic Risk Assessment Model has been suggested giving consideration to the Speed Length Ratio, which was not sufficiently reflected in the existing Risk Assessment Model. The larger the Speed Length Ratio (dimensionless speed), the higher the CJ value. That is, the CJ value is presented well by the Speed Length Ratio. When the Speed Length Ratio is large, states ranging from [Caution], [Warning], [Dangerous] or [Very Dangerous] are presented from a greater distance than when the Speed Length Ratio is small. The results of this study, can be used for route and port development, including dangerous route avoidance, optimum route planning, breakwater width, bridge span, etc. as well as the development of costal navigation safety charts. This research is also applicable for the selection of optimum ship routing and the prevention of collisions for smart ships such as autonomous vessels.

전자해도 기반 충돌위험도 표시 시스템 개발 및 검증에 관한 연구

  • 기존 연구에서 다중선박의 충돌위험도를 추정하는 알고리즘을 개발한 바 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 기반으로, 실제 선박에 온보드형으로 설치하여, 운용할 수 있도록 전자해도 기반의 충돌위험도 표시 시스템을 설계하고, 그 표시 프로그램을 구현하였다. 국립해양조사원에서 배포하는 전자해도(IHO S-57) 파일을 이용할 수 있으며, 실시간으로 입력되는 해상교통 정보를 받아 충돌위험도를 계산하여, 표시할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 그리고, 개발된 프로그램의 성능을 검증하기 위하여, 선박운항 시뮬레이터를 이용하여, 실제 선박충돌사고의 AIS 데이터를 이용한 재생시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

  • 도시가스 배관의 안전을 위해 다양한 시스템이 가동되고 있지만 대부분 현장점검에 의존하는 한계점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내 도시가스 공급업체들 중 하나인 중부도시가스사의 실시간 배관운영 데이터를 분석해 배관의 위험을 예측한다. 배관의 압력, 출력전압, 출력전류, 방식전위, 전위값 데이터와 기타 도시가스 관련요인 데이터를 통합해 상관분석을 진행한다. 그리고 특정 공급권역의 실시간 배관 압력 데이터를 분석해 압력 수치를 예측한다. Random forest regression과 support vector regression(SVR) 알고리즘을 사용해 모델을 구성한 결과 배관 데이터의 시계열 정보를 추가한 데이터 셋과 random forest regression을 사용한 모델에서 가장 우수한 예측 성능을 보인다.

  • 선박의 조종성능은 풍조나 파랑등 외력에 의한 영향이나 그 선박의 홀수, 속력등 항행환경에 따라서 조종성능이 달라 질 뿐만 아니라 조타에 대한 선체의 응답운동이 달라지게 된다. 따라서, 조선자는 선박이 항행중 다른 선박이나 위험물에 접근 했을 때 안전하게 피항하기 위해서는 그 선박에 대한 선회성과 추종성 등 조타에 의한 조종 성능을 잘파악하고 있어야 하며, 이러한 조종 성능은 일반적으로 선회시 선회권에 의한 종거 및 횡거와 선회경의 크기로 결정되는 선회성과 조타에 의한 선체운동등 추종성을 나타내는 조종성 지수로써 그 선박에 대한 조종성능의 양부를 판별하게 되는 것이다.   • The asset management of infra facilities is a total framework for finally supporting a safe and comfortable service, which includes functions of supporting evaluation of condition and performance of infrastructures, making the decision method of repair or rehabilitation of deteriorated facilities, and lengthening the life cycle of structure through the decision of adequate cost and time of repair or reinforcement. In the range of the asset management, organization, human, the target, and information & data of company are included. Therefore, in this paper, appling the method of asset management analysis to the infra structures, the process of the risk assesment using BRE (Business Risk Exposure) and the basis of consisting ORDM (Optimized Renewal Decision-Making) are expressed.

A Real-time Audio Surveillance System Detecting and Localizing Dangerous Sounds for PTZ Camera Surveillance (PTZ 카메라 감시를 위한 실시간 위험 소리 검출 및 음원 방향 추정 소리 감시 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose an audio surveillance system which can detect and localize dangerous sounds in real-time. The location information about dangerous sounds can render a PTZ camera to be directed so as to catch a snapshot image about the dangerous sound source area and send it to clients instantly. The proposed audio surveillance system firstly detects foreground sounds based on adaptive Gaussian mixture background sound model, and classifies it into one of pre-trained classes of foreground dangerous sounds. For detected dangerous sounds, a sound source localization algorithm based on Dual delay-line algorithm is applied to localize the sound sources. Finally, the proposed system renders a PTZ camera to be oriented towards the dangerous sound source region, and take a snapshot against over the sound source region. Experiment results show that the proposed system can detect foreground dangerous sounds stably and classifies the detected foreground dangerous sounds into correct classes with a precision of 79% while the sound source localization can estimate orientation of the sound source with acceptably small error.

Random Backoff Scheme of Emergency Warning Message for Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications (차량 간 통신에서 충돌을 완화하기 위한 랜덤 백오프 방안)

  • In this paper, we propose a random backoff scheme for Emergency Warning Messages (EWMs) in the vehicle-to-vehicle environment. The EWMs are disseminated from a vehicle that detects an emergency situation to other vehicles in a multi-hop fashion. Since the vehicle-to-vehicle communication based on IEEE 802.11 adapts CSMA/CA, the density of vehicles increase the probability of collisions between transmissions. Moreover, in the presence of background traffic, the EWM should have a higher priority than that of other messages in neighboring vehicles. To that end, we propose the Distant-Dependent Adaptive Backoff (DDAB) scheme, which set a different contention window for random backoff depending on the distance from the sender to the receiver. In the case when a vehicle is expected to located in the outskirts of the communication boundary, the proposed scheme makes the contention window size small in order to compete the background traffic transmission. Otherwise the contention window is set to a large number to reduce the collision possibility among the EWM transmissions. Via simulations, we show that the proposed scheme performs better than the previous schemes for EWM.

Inelastic Energy Absorption Factor for the Seismic Probabilistic Risk Assessment of NPP Containment Structure (확률론적 지진위험도 분석을 위한 원전 격납건물의 비탄성에너지 흡수계수 평가)

  • In order to assure the safety of NPP structures, margin of safety or conservatism is incorporated in each design step. Seismic risk evaluation of NPP structures is performed based on the realistic capacity and response of structure eliminated the safety margin and conservatism. In this study, the comparative study on the various evaluation methods of the inelastic energy absorption capacity was performed. The inelastic energy absorption capacity due to the nonlinear behavior of structures has significant effect on the results of seismic probabilistic risk assessment. And the comparison study of the HCLPF(high confidence of low probability of failure) values according to the inelastic energy absorption factors was performed. As a conclusion, the inelastic energy absorption factor of NPP containment structure is estimated about 1.5~1.75. It is essential to estimate the nonlinear behavior of structure and its ductility factor correctly for the seismic risk assessment.
