Development of RFID for Automatic Radiopharmaceuticals Preparation System (방사성 의약품 자동합성 장치용 RFID 시스템의 개발)

  • In this paper, an RFID system for the automatic preparation system of positron emission tomography (PET) radiopharmaceuticals is developed. Since the preparation system uses radioactive isotope, the preparation system is generally placed in lead-shielded hot-cell. Disposable cassettes including tubes and valves are used in the preparation system, since they are easily contaminated by radioactivity during preparation of radiopharmaceuticals. Currently, a system for preventing re-use of the cassette and managing the information about the preparation precess and result independently from the PC which control the preparation system is highly required for preventing danger from the radiation accident. Since RFID can store and re-write relatively large amount of information, it is suitable for the purpose. However, it is hard to read multiple cassettes' information using antennas installed on the metallic surfaces with current RFID systems. For the problem, we improve RFID system in two directions. First, the interface of the RFID reader is changed then it is possible that multiple readers can be daisy-chained. Also, antenna is tuned while inserting in a metallic coated antenna case, then the effect from the metallic surface of the preparation system is minimized. The test result using the developed system shows that the developed RFID system can read multiple tags using the antennas which are attached on the metallic surface.

Design of an Optimal Adaptive Filter for the Cancellation of M-wave in the EMG Controlled Functional Electrical Stimulation for Paralyzed Individuals (마비환자의 근전도제에기능적전기자극을 위한 M-wave 제거용 최적적응필터 설계)

  • Biopotential signals have been used as command in systems using electrical stimulation of motor nerves to restore movement after an injury to the central nervous system (CNS). In order to use the voluntary EMG (electromyography) among the biopotentials as a control signal for the electrical stimulation of the same muscle for CNS injury patients, it is necessary to remove M-wave of having high magnitude from raw data. We designed an optimal filter for removing the M-wave and preserving the voluntary EMG and showed that the optimal filter is eigen filter. We also proved that the previous method using the prediction error filter(PEF) is a suboptimal filtering in the sense of preserving the voluntary EMG. On basis of the data obtained from a model for M-wave and voluntary EMG and from actual CNS injury patients, with false-positive rate analysis, the proposed adaptive filter showed a very promising performance in comparison with previous method.

  • Operational errors caused by human factors, which is the major cause of marine accidents, include lack of knowledge, misunderstanding knowledge, and inadequate procedures. Recently, the type of propulsion mounted on KCG cutters has been diversified. In particular, the water jet propulsion unit, which was mainly installed in small boats, have been gradually expanded to medium and large size Coast Guard cutters, reaching 50% of the total. Axes types are divided into 2 to 4, and the bucket types are divided into Double Reverse Bucket(DRB) and Single Reverse Bucket(SRB); in these, the backward and steering control methods are completely different. Diversification of these operating systems can increase factors causing human error by the ships' operators. However, there is a lack of research on the maneuvering methods, considering the inherent active characteristics of each type of water jet. In this paper, we analyze the sideway method suitable for the condition of Coast Guard Exclusive wharf without assistance, based on the astern performance of each type. Then, a ship handling simulator was used for the experiment; they compared and verified through interviews of captains.

이산화탄소를 이용한 방사능 오염 세척 기술개발

  • 원자력발전소 1차계통과 격납용기 내부에서 사용되는 주요 부품들은 운전중에 발생한 방사 성 물질들의 침투와 홉착에 의해 오염되어 간다. 이 오염된 부품 및 장비, 공구, 방호복, 방호모자, 작업화 등의 세정과 정비를 위해서는 제염이 선행되어야 한다. 현재의 제염법은 2차 방사성 폐기물을 발생하는 문제점이 있다. 따라서I 2차 폐기물의 발생을 근원적으로 줄일 수 있는 새로운 제염방안이 절실히 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 제염법을 개발하기 위해 2가지 방법을 적용하였다. 첫째로, 원자력 발전소에 서 나오는 방사능 오염 세탁물 제염을 위한 액체 및 초임계 이산화탄소를 이용한 방사능 오염물 제염기를 개발하였다. 제염기는 반응기(16 liteer), 회수시스템 그리고 저장용기로 구성되어있다. 세정에 사용된 모든 이산화탄소는 회수되어 재사용 되어지므로 2차 폐기물의 발생을 근원적으로 없앨 수 있다. 제염성능실험결과 제염지수가 목표치보다는 낮았다. 이는 제염 기에 계면활성제와 기계적인 힘을 가한다면 높은 제염지수를 얻을 수 있을 것으로 예상된다. 둘째로, 발전소에서 나오는 오염된 공구나 장비의 세척을 위한 가변형 노즐 드라이 아이스 세척 장치를 개발하였다. 표면세정시 얼음층 형성방지를 위하여 열공급장치를 부착하였다. 유라표면에 지문을 묻혀 실험한 결과 쉽게 제거되었다. 실제 발전소에 있는 P Pump-housing의 표면을 실험한 결과 방사능의 약 40-80%가 제거되었다. 이 장치는 검출기, 제어장치, 용액상에서 세척될 수 없는 장치에 적용할 수 있는 효율적인 세척법이다. 이는 프리프레그의 표면처리 가 충과 충간의 접착강도를 증가시키고 또한 탄소섬유와 에폭시 간의 계면력을 증가시킨데 기인하는 것으로 사려된다.되었으며, duty-on 시간의 증가에 따라 $Cr_2N$ 상의 형성이 점점 많아져 80% duty-on 시간 경우에는 거의 CrN과 $Cr_2N$ 상이 공존하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 duty-on 시간이 증가할수록 회절피크의 세기가 증가하여 결정화가 더 많이 진행되어짐을 알 수 있었다. 마찬가지로 바이어스 펄스이 주파수에 다른 결정성의 변화도 펄스의 주파수가 증가할수록 박막이 결정성이 좋아지고 $Cr_2N$ 상이 쉽게 형성되었다. 증착 진공도에 따른 결정성은 상대적으로 질소의 농도가 높은 낮은 진공도에서는 CrN 상이 주로 형성되었으며, 반대로 높은 진공도에서는 $Cr_2N$ 상이 많이 만들어졌다. 즉 $1.3{\times}10^{-2}Torr$의 증착 진공도에서는 CrN 상만이 보이는 반면 $9.0{\tiems}1-^{-2}Torr$ 진공도에서부터 $Cr_2N$ 상이 형성되기 시작하여 $5.0{\tiems}10^{-2}Torr$ 진공도에서는 두개의 상이 혼재되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 박막의 내마모성을 조사한 결과 CrN 박막의 마찰 계수는 초기에 급격하게 증가한 후 0.5에서 0.6 사이의 값으로 큰 변화를 보이지 않았으며, $Cr_2N$ 박막도 비슷한 거동을 보였다.차 이, 목적의 차이, 그리고

Development of Ocean Data Buoy and Real-Time Monitoring Technology (종합관측부이 개발 및 실시간 관측기술)

  • It is desired to use a domestically manufactured ocean data buoy for the long-term operational ocean monitoring. The ocean data buoy manufacturing technology was introduced through the research cooperation with the Qingkong University of Taiwan. The introduced ocean data buoy system was further expanded and improved for more efficient application for the marine environmental monitoring in Korea. The size of the ocean data buoy is 2.5 m in diameter, which is smaller compared to the NOAA's 3.0 m discus buoy to allow easy land transportation and ocean deployment as well. From the dynamic response test of the buoy carried out numerically, it was shown that the measurement of waves with period greater than 4 seconds is acceptable. The measurement and control system of the data buoy were improved to increase the number of measuring parameters, to reduce power consumption and to enhance better data analysis and management. Each component of the improved data buoy system was described in detail in this paper. Water quality sensors of water temperature, salinity, DO, pH and turbidity were added to the system in addition to the marine meteorological sensors of wind speed and direction, air temperature, humidity, air pressure and wave. Inmarsat satellite communication system is used for the real-time data telemetry from the buoy deployed offshore. A field performance test of the improved and domestically manufactured buoy was carried out for a month at the open sea off Pohang together with DatawelI's Wave-rider buoy to compare the wave data.   • This paper presents a misfire monitoring method by using the weight factor. According to OBD II(On-Board Diagnostics) regulations of the CARB (California Air Resources Board), an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) should detect misfires which occur in the internal combustion engine. A misfire is 1311owe4 by post-oscillations for short duration. Sometimes, the amplitude of oscillations may be as high as misfire and can be falsely detected as another misfire. To prevent this, the software designers do not attempt to detect another misfire for this short duration, during which the post oscillations exist. Because of this, ECU does not detect all the misfires and hence, the unstable state of automobile cannot be detected. If this happens for a long time, automobile may get damaged. To solve these problems, this paper suggests a new algorithm to detect misfire by using weighting factor Weighting factor is a concept to distinguish the misfire with the post oscillation and to improve the detection rate. This value of weighting factor is used for counting the misfire. This paper also shows the result of experiment done on a automobile using this software. The software is implemented using ASCET-SD which is preferred in the design of engine control. This paper's result show the possibility of improving the misfire detection by implementing this algorithm.

An Experimental Environment for Simulation of Stealthy Deception Attack in CPS Using PLCitM (PLC in the Middle) (중간자 PLC를 이용한 CPS 은닉형 공격 실험환경 구축 방안)

  • Cyber-Physical System (CPS) is a system in which a physical system and a cyber system are strongly integrated. In order to operate the target physical system stably, the CPS constantly monitors the physical system through the sensor and performs control using the actuator according to the current state. If a malicious attacker performs a forgery attack on the measured values of the sensors in order to conceal their attacks, the cyber system operated based on the collected data can not recognize the current operation status of the physical system. This causes the delay of the response of the automation system and the operator, and then more damage will occur. To protect the CPS from increasingly sophisticated and targeted attacks, countermeasures must be developed that can detect stealthy deception attacks. However, in the CPS environment composed of various heterogeneous devices, the process of analyzing and demonstrating the vulnerability to actual field devices requires a lot of time. Therefore, in this study, we propose a method of constructing the experiment environment of the PLCitM (PLC in the middle) which can verify the performance of the techniques to detect the CPS stealthy deception attack and present the experimental results.

Development of Acoustic Positioning System for ROV using SBL System (SBL방식을 이용한 무인잠수정의 수중초음파 위치측정시스템 개발)

  • In this paper we executed a SBL(Short Baseline) underwater acoustic positioning system that is a kind of underwater position estimation system to estimates the 3-dimensional position of ROV(Remotely Operated Vehicle) using hydrophones and DAQ(Data Acquisition) system in the basin which dimensions are $3{\times}3{\times}1.7(m)$. For this experiment, we let 4 hydrophones in different positions of the basin for receiver and 1 hydrophone is fixed on the underwater vehicle for transmitting sensor(pinger). These five hydrophones are communicated with each other to find the 3-D positions of the moving ROV in the basin. The measured signals are collected by DAQ system and the positions of the ROV are plotted by LabView program in real-time. To estimate the position of the ROV we used a trigonometric method. In X and Y plane the estimated data has a small errors but in Z plane the estimated data has large errors so we cannot use this data for position control. One solution of this problem is using depth sensor that implemented of the underwater vehicle. Hereafter, we will test in the ocean using designed SBL system.

A Network Adaptive SVC Streaming Protocol for Improving Video Quality (비디오 품질 향상을 위한 네트워크 적응적인 SVC 스트리밍 프로토콜)

  • The existing QoS mechanisms for video streaming are short of the consideration for various user environments and the characteristic of streaming applying programs. In order to overwhelm this problem, studies on the video streaming protocols exploiting scalable video coding (SVC), which provide spatial, temporal, and qualitative scalability in video coding, are progressing actively. However, these protocols also have the problem to deepen network congestion situation, and to lower fairness between other traffics, as they are not equipped with congestion control mechanisms. SVC based streaming protocols also have the problem to overlook the property of videos encoded in SVC, as the protocols transmit the streaming simply by extracting the bitstream which has the maximum bit rate within available bandwidth of a network. To solve these problems, this study suggests TCP-friendly network adaptive SVC streaming(T-NASS) protocol which considers both network status and SVC bitstream property. T-NASS protocol extracts the optimal SVC bitstream by calculating TCP-friendly transmission rate, and by perceiving the network status on the basis of packet loss rate and explicit congestion notification(ECN). Through the performance estimation using an ns-2 network simulator, this study identified T-NASS protocol extracts the optimal bitstream as it uses TCP-friendly transmission property and perceives the network status, and also identified the video image quality transmitted through T-NASS protocol is improved.

The hybrid of artificial neural networks and case-based reasoning for intelligent diagnosis system (인공 신경경망과 사례기반추론을 혼합한 지능형 진단 시스템)

  • As the recent development of the IT services, there is a urgent need of effective diagnosis system to present appropriate solution for the complicated problems of breakdown control, a cause analysis of breakdown and others. So we propose an intelligent diagnosis system that integrates the case-based reasoning and the artificial neural network to improve the system performance and to achieve optimal diagnosis. The case-based reasoning is a reasoning method that resolves the problems presented in current time through the past cases (experience). And it enables to make efficient reasoning by means of less complicated knowledge acquisition process, especially in the domain where it is difficult to extract formal rules. However, reasoning by using the case-based reasoning alone in diagnosis problem domain causes a problem of suggesting multiple causes on a given symptom. Since the suggested multiple causes of given symptom has the same weight, the unnecessary causes are also examined as well. In order to resolve such problems, the back-propagation learning algorithm of the artificial neural network is used to train the pairs of the causes and associated symptoms and find out the cause with the highest weight for occurrence to make more clarified and reliable diagnosis.
