Development of SSPA-based X-band Transmitter with Graceful Degradation (점진적 성능저하 기능을 가지는 X-대역 SSPA 송신장치 개발)

  • In this paper, we designed a 4.5kW X-band SSPA transmitter to replace the TWTA search radar transmitter with low MTBF and high maintenance cost. The transmitter is designed for the performance of over 520W average transmission output and 4.0kW maximum transmission output. In particular, by implementing a graceful degradation, it is designed to maintain better performance than conventional TWTA transmitter up to 40% (13 assembly modules) failure level of 200W power amplifier assembly. Through an experiment on the effective range of X-band, the performance of proposed transmitter verified the values of the maximum transmission output 6.1kW, spurious output 69.16dBc, RF pulse rising time 15.2ns and RF pulse falling time 16.3ns. The experiment confirmed the change of output power according to the graceful degradation due to fault injection.

FLAP DEFLECTION OPTIMZATION FOR TRANSONIC CRUISE PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT OF SUPERSONIC TRANSPORT WING (초음속 날개의 천음속 순항성능 향상을 위한 플랩 꺽임각 최적화)

  • 초음속 여객기의 천음속 순항 성능을 개선하기 위하여 날개의 플랩 꺽임각을 최적화하였다. 이를 위하여 3차원 Euler 코드와 adjoint 코드를 이용한 최적설계기법을 적용하였다. 설계변수로서, 앞전플랩 5개, 뒷전 플랩 5개 등 총 10개의 플랩의 꺽임각이 사용되었다. 설계과정중에 격자계 내부격자점의 수정을 위해 타원형방정식법을 이용하였다. 계산 시간의 단축을 위해 내부격자의 민감도는 무시하였다. 또한 본 설계문제에 근사구배기법의 적용가능성 여부를 조사하였다. 충격파가 없는 경우 앞전 플렙에 한하여 근사구배기법을 적용할 수 있음을 알았다. 최적설계기법으로 BFGS기법을 적용하여 항력을 최소화하였으며, 양력 및 날개 표면 마하수에 대한 제약조건을 적용하였다. 앞전 플랩의 최적화 및 앞전과 뒷전 플랩의 최적화 등 두 개의 설계 문제를 고려하였다. 성공적인 결과를 얻음으로써 본 설계방법의 타당성 및 효율성을 확인하였다.

  • In this study, in order to perform dynamic design of machine tools reasonably and effectively, a method was formulated to be applicable to the structures connected by joints having elasticity and damping by using substructure synthesis method. And to analyze chatter-free performance, a 3 dimensional cutting dynamics theory was used. Computer program package for the dynamic design of machine tools was developed by combining those and spplied to improvement of performance of NC lathe. Also, the optimization in the structural modifications of machine tool substructure was studied by evaluating the effects of the substructural modifications on total system performance.

  • Experimental investigation of counter-rotating propellers is subject to multiple time and cost constraint because of additional design parameters unlike single propeller. Also, a lot of computing time and resources are required for numerical analysis due to consideration of the interference between the upper and lower propellers. In the present study, numerical simulations were conducted to investigate the hover performance of counter-rotating propellers by using actuator method which is considered to be time-efficient. The accuracy of the present numerical methods was validated by comparing the ANSYS Fluent which is commercial CFD code. The axial spacing and rotational speed were selected as the analysis variables, and the aerodynamic performance was obtained under various conditions. Based on the obtained results, the Figure of Merit (FM) of single propeller and counter-rotating propellers and a prediction factor which enables prediction of counter-rotating propeller performance using a single propeller were derived to evaluate availability of the actuator method.

  • For the operation of the scramjet engine in the wide flight range, the design of the inlet must show stable performance in various flight conditions. In this study, the design methods of a 2D fixed inlet for stable performance in wide flight ranges of Mach number 4 to 6 and angle -6° to 6°, is performed. After proposing the design method and design focus, performance prediction and analysis were performed by various initial compression angles and design Mach numbers, which are essential design factors in total pressure recovery and inlet capture area ratio in the wide flight range. Based on the analysis results, we present the selection criteria for the two main design elements to represent stable performance in the wide flight range.

  • The optimal method to intuitively and systematical design hypersonic intakes is reported. In Mach 7 flow condition, the hypersonic intake model designed by theoretical approach is corrected by CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis based on viscous flow condition, leading to the optimum hypersonic intake model. For performance comparison with CFD analysis, the double ramp intake is superior to the single ramp intake. Furthermore, in the off-design condition, the performance of the designed hypersonic intake is little degraded.

  • A procedure for determination of performance point was developed based on the concept of the direct displacement-based design method. Using the proposed procedure, parametric study has been performed for various natural periods of the structure, yield strength, and the stiffness after the first yield. The proposed method was also applied to a 10-story steel frame, and the results were compared to those from the capacity spectrum method and the time history analysis. It was found from the comparison that there were good agreement between the results.

  • 지난 수십년간 소방 분야의 연구의 결과로 말미암아, 오늘날 선진국에서는 종래의 법규에 의한 규제 일변도의 소방 설계에서 탈피하여 화재의 성상을 공학적으로 분석하여 그 결과를 설계에 적용하는 "실행위주의 소방설계(performance: based fire protection design)"를 이미 시도하고 있다. 우리나라에서도 법규 적용이 어려운 새로운 공간에 대해서 화재 시뮬레이션을 통한 방재 성능 평가를 이미 적용하고 있으나, 아직 법적인 근거가 마련되지 않고 있고, 교육 전파가 되지 않고 있어서, 대부분 관련 종사자들에게는 생소하게 여겨지고 있는 실정이다. 본 고에서는 실행위주의 소방설계를 소개하고, 화재의 공학적 분석 및 우리나라의 실정, 그리고 앞으로의 방향에 대하여 설명하고자 한다.

Inelastic Analysis of Steel Frame Structures with Viscoelastic Damper (점탄성 감쇠기가 설치된 철골조 건물의 비탄성 해석)

  • In this study the effect and applicability of viscoelastic dampers on the seismic reinforcement of steel framed structures are investigated in the context of the performance based design approach. The effect of the damper on dissipating the input seismic energy was investigated with a single degree of freedom system. For analysis models a five-story steel frame subjected to gravity load, a ten-story and twenty-story structure subjected to gravity and wind load were designed. The code-specified design spectrums were constructed for each soil type and performance objective, and artificial ground excitation records to be used in the nonlinear time history analysis were generated based on the design spectrums. Inter-story drift was adopted as the primary performance criterion. According to the analysis results, all model structures turned out to satisfy the performance level for most of the soil conditions except for the soft soil(operational level). It was also found that the seismic performance could be greatly enhanced, and the structures were led to behave elastically by installing viscoelastic dampers on appropriate locations.

무기체계 획득관리 개선방안(3)-개방형 체계접근방법을 중심으로

  • 개방형 체계접근방법이라는 것은 사회에서 날로 발전하는 기술을 군에 적용하여 수명주기비용을 절감하고 개발도 용이하게 하며 장기간 운용하는 기간 중에 군수지원도 효율적으로 하면서 무기체계성능도 보장할 수 있게 하자는 방법이라 하였다. 그러므로 우리는 무기체계를 개발할 때 개방형체계개념을 설계 고려사항으로 도입하여 이 목적을 달성토록 해야 하는데 이것은 바로 체계공학절차에서 이루어지는 것이다. 체계공학이란 군의 요구사항을 Input으로 하고 설계라는 것을 통하여 무기체계라는 Output을 만들어 가는 문제해결 절차이다.
