The purpose of this study was to clarify the performance of mourning clothes from Konggi Provincial Museum, to identify the fiber of these clothes, and investigate the washing effect by wet cleaning. Shapes of mourning clothes were studied, and some ingredients of non fibrous extracted matter were analyzed by FT-IR spectroscopy to clarify the performance of mourning clothes. Microscope examination, melting test, and stain test were used for the identification of the fiber. SEM was used to confirm the effect of washing after mourning clothes washed by wet cleaning added anionic detergent, sodiumdodecylbenzenesulfonate (LAS). The performance of these clothes was mourning cloth, not mummy cloth as results of analyses to the clothes' shapes and extract ingredients. The extract ingredients were carbohydrate, alkyl alcohol, and aldehyde. They didn't have any nitrogen compounds and fatty acids. The fiber identification showed this fiber was hemp. The effect of washing was high as the surface of fiber was clean and linear after wet washing.
Low molecular weight endo-glucanase was partially purified from cellulase complex using Sephadex G-100 gel chromatography. Biochemical properties of the purified component was investigated. Optimum pH and temperature determined were 6.0 and 5$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. Enzymatic hydrolysis of four cellulosic substrates having varying crystallinity was evaluated. It was found that hydrolysis of amorphous region was followed by the hydrolysis of crystalline region. In order to examine the effect of adsorption of the enzyme onto the cellulosic substrates on the hydrolysis kinetics, adsorption studies were carried out. Time course of adsorption of low molecular weight endo-glucanase onto various cellulostances was observed for 25 min. The rate and amount of adsorption to amorphous cellulose was greater than those to the crystalline cellulose. This result suggested that the role of endo-glucanasc was more important to the hydrolysis of amorphous cellulose than to the crystalline region of the cellulose.

Approximate composition and physicochemical properties of 7 cultivars of persimmon peel, by product of dried-persimmon, were examined. The content of crude fiber were different according to cultivars. Glucose, fructose and sucrose were isolated by HPLC; also, myristic, palmitic, palmitoleic, oleic and linolenic acid were the major fatty acids in persimmon peel. Total and free amino acid were 241.32-371.45 mg/100 g and 3.69-28.31 mg/100 g, respectively; also, aspartic and glutamic acid were the predominant amino acids, reaching a level between 19.6 and 24.8% of total amino acids. Insoluble dietary fiber content(34.89-50.76 g/100 g) was remarkably higher than soluble dietary fiber (2.44-7.09 g/100 g). Total carotenoids were in the range of 179.4-340.6 mg/100 g, and total phenolic compounds ranged from 44.07-196.98 mg/100 g, showing differences between cultivars.
The study was conducted to compare the components such as proximate composition, total dietary fiber(TDF) content, acid detergent fiber(ADF) content, lignin, water binding capacity(WBC), amino acid composition and lipid components from brown Job's tears, dehulled Job's tears, brown Yeomjoo and bran of Job's tears. The results from this study are summerized as follows: Total dietary fiber(TDF) content of Job's tears, brown Job's tears, brown Yeomjoo and bran of Job's tears were 2.70%, 3.86%, 4.33% and 13.3% each. Water-binding capacity(WBC) of TDF and ADF were $2.63{\pm}0.02g\;H_2O/g$ TDF and $5.89{\pm}0.15g\;H_2O/g$ ADF each. In amono acids composition of samples, glutamic acid content was the highest and the next was leucine. Chemical score of leucine in dehulled Job's tears was very high(189), in contrast lysine was very low$(22{\sim}23)$ So lysine was a first limitting amino acid in Job's tears and Yeomjoo. Neutral lipid contents were 90.89%-96.55%, glycolipid contents were 2.35%-7.48% and phospholipid contents were very low. The major fatty acids of lipid fractions were palmitic acid. oleic acid and linoleic acid.
The effects of chemical compositions (protein, lipid, and dietary fiber) on the physical properties of dried biji powders were investigated. The raw biji was freeze-dried (control) and hot-air dried (untreated). The untreated biji was further defatted and deproteinated. The prepared biji powders were analyzed for the proximate composition, total dietary fiber (TDF), water absorption index (WAI), water solubility index (WSI), swelling power, solubility (including the quantification of soluble carbohydrate and protein fractions), and final viscosity (using a rapid visco analyzer). Control and untreated biji powders exhibited the similar chemical compositions. The defatted biji possessed higher TDF, although its protein content did not significantly differ for control and untreated ones. The deproteinated biji consisted mainly of TDF. WAI and swelling power increased in the order: deproteinated > defatted > control > untreated biji powders. WSI and solubility increased in the order: control > untreated > defatted > deproteinated biji powders. The similar patterns were observed for soluble carbohydrate and protein fractions. The deproteinated biji revealed the highest viscosity over applied temperatures, while the untreated one was lowest. Overall results suggested that the physical properties of the dried biji powder were reduced by protein and fat, but enhanced by dietary fiber.
The measurement values of proximate composition in fresh ginseng could provide the important information for red ginseng processing. The measurement of them were performed by near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. Linear regression model for the predicting of proximate composition was developed and validated. The regression values of moisture, crude starch, crude ash, crude fiber, calcium, and magnesium contents were shown as 0.918, 0.951, 0.897, 0.728, 0.933, and 0.390, respectively. Therefore, the proximate composition of fresh ginseng could be measured by NIR, feasibly.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the fiber content of and the characteristics of non-fibrous matters within the textiles exhumed from Keumreung-Ri, Pajoo of Kyunggi-do. Various microscopic methods' and the IR spectroscopy were used for the identification of fibers. The KS K 0251 Test Method as well as the IR spectroscopy and the SEM were used for the analysis of econ-fibrous matters. Fiber identification showed that each of the Pajoo samples were composed either of silk, cotton, or ramie. The results of the analysis of non-fibrous matters were as follows. The amount of water-extracted compound exceeded that of chloroform-extracted compound in both Pajoo 2 and Pajoo 5 samples. In Pajoo 5 sample which have already been dry cleaned using the mixed solution of n-hexane and n-dacane, the amount of chloroform extracted compound was 0% of the total extracted matter. The enzyme and HCI disintegration steps further removed the soils those were nonsoluble in water or chloroform. The most extraction was achieved at the HCI extraction stage.

CO2 emissions are caused by cement manufacturing process. To solve this problem construction industry are using industrial by-products to replace cement. In this study, three different industrial by products were used and mixed with hybrid fibers to enhance bond strength. As the result, Regardless of the mixing rate of silica fume, the compressive strength of the ternary non cent mortar was higher than that of OPC and binary. And mixed hybrid fibers cured by room temperature compressive strength were 23% higher than those without hybrid fibers.
