Investigations on the behavior of steel fiber reinforced high strength concrete beams subjected to predominant shear are accomplished to determine their diagonal shear strength including ultimate shear strength. The parameters varied were the volume fraction(Vf) of the fibers, shear span depth ratio(a/d). The test result show that diagonal shear strength and ultimate shear strength are increased siginificantly due to crack arrest mechanism. Predictive equations are suggested for evaluating the diagonal cracking strength and ultimate shear strength of the fiber reinforced high strength concrete beams.

This study evaluates the fire resistance performance for 60MPa high strength concrete reinforced by recycling polyethylene-terephthalate(PET) fiber(fiber content : 0.05 vol.%). Because there is no fire resistance test results for circular concrete column, a fire resistance test was carried out for circular concrete column specimens. As a result, it was confirmed that PET fiber was effective against the spalling control of high strength concrete. However, the specimen with cover thickness 30mm did not satisfy the temperature standard of main reinforcement, and the specimen with cover thickness 40mm satisfied the temperature standard of main reinforcement. Therefore, more than 40mm cover thickness was demanded for stable fire resistance performance.
The purpose of this study is to investigate anti analyze the effect of iength of steel fiber and concrete admixt.ure such as iilica fume and fly ash on the workability arid engineering properties cbf steel fiber reinforced concxte (SFRC). As the results the follows art: found. First, it is poss ible to make steel fiber reinforced concrete having the consistency of IOcm slump and 28 days compressive strength of $600{\;}kgf/\textrm{m}^2$ by adopting low water binder ratios arid using :uperplasticizer. Second, the conipresslve and tensile strength of SWKC containing silica fume and fly ash is lower than those of plain concrete in the age after 28 days, but higher in the age after 28 days. Finally, tensde strength of SFHC is higher than that of plain concrete, and so adding the steel fibers in concrete increases the toughness.

This paper describes the use of the J-integral, a one parameter of the non-linear fracture mechanics(NLFM), as a means to measure toughness of steel fiber reinforced concrete. This parameter can be conveniently evaluated from experimentally determined load-deflection curves from flexural tests when a maximum-load failure criterion is employed. And, for high strength concrete which was reinforced steel fiber, with two different fiber length in the form of notched beams, were tested under 3-point bending, and $J_{IC}$, as well as the linear elastic fracture mechanics(LEFM) parameters $K_{IC}$ and $G_{IC}$ were evaluated. The results suggest that $J_{IC}$ is a promising fracture criterion for all of these. while $K_{IC}$(or $G_{IC}$) almost certainly are not. Also it was found that a fiber addition of less than 0.5% did not improve the fracture toughness of the high strength concrete. However, at more than 1.0% in fiber contents, $J_{IC}$ showed significant increases. reflecting the changed character of the concrete; $K_{IC}$ and $G_{IC}$ did not.

The cost of repairing the deterioration of concrete structures due to corrosion of the reinforcement steel has been the prominent figure in the maintenacne of the reinforced-concrete infrastructures. As an alternative material to steel reinforcement, the use of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) bar in concrete is being actively studied for the high resistance of chemical environment and high strength to weight ratio properties of GFRP. However, there remain various aspects of GFRP properties that still need to be studied before the standard design criteria can be established. One of the imminent issues is the bond between GFRP and concrete. In this study, the bond-behavior of GFRP bars in concrete is investigated via the pullout test with varying parameters: surface condition of GFRP bars and concrete compression strength. And the local bond-stress model of GFRP rabars with applying monotonc load was also derived from the present test.
An experimental research was performed using fibers for the purpose of retrofitting existing reinforced concrete circular columns. Glass fiber (GF) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) were used as well as combined GF+PET (HF). PET has high tensile strength (over 600 MPa) and high ductility (about 15%), but has very low elastic modulus (about 1/6 of GF). A total of four columns was tested against laterally applied reverse cyclic load: control column, GF-, PET-, and HF-strengthened columns. All columns retrofitted using fibers demonstrated improved moment capacity and ductility. Moment capacity of GF-, PET-, and HF-strengthened columns was 120%, 107%, and 120% of the control column, respectively. Drift ratio of all retrofitted columns also increased by 63 ~ 83% over the control column. The final failure mode of the control column was main bar buckling. The final failure mode of the GF- and HF-strengthened columns was GF rupture while that of the PET-strengthened column was main bar rupture in tension. No damage was observed for PET at the ultimate stage due to excellent strain capacity intrinsic to PET. Current test results indicate that PET can be effectively used for seismic retrofit of RC columns. It is noted that the durability characteristics of PET needs to be investigated in the future.

In this paper, the flexural creep behavior of hooked-end steel fiber reinforced high-strength concrete was evaluated to investigate the steel fiber content influence on long-term behavior of flexural members. An experimental program consisted of nine prismatic beam specimens with dimensions of 150 × 150 × 600mm reinforced with different contents of steel fiber (0, 0.75 and 1.5% at the volume fraction). To introduce flexural creep loading to notched prismatic beam specimens, a four-point bending test setup was used. The sustained load with 40% of the flexural strength was applied by means of a lever system and controlled by a load cell for 90 days. During sustained loading, crack mouth opening displacement (CMOD) was monitored. Conventional flexural test after creep tests were carried out to evaluate the residual capacity of each specimen. Test results showed that steel fiber content has a significant effect on the flexural creep behavior of high-strength concrete and long-term flexural load with 40% of flexural strength doesn't generate negative effects on the residual capacity of steel fiber reinforced high-strength concrete.
The peculiarity pointed out for high strength concrete is the occurrence of spalling during a fire. Recently, there are many efforts such as development of all types of spalling reducing materials and other innovative materials in various fields. Need is now to examine the adequate mixing proportions of these materials. This study intended to derive experimentally and statistically mix proportions that can represent the basic quality requirements as well as the optimal effects on the fire-resistance for 4 types of functional materials that are metakaolin, waste tire chip, polypropylene fiber and steel fiber. Here, the tests were planned through an optimal test method using an orthogonal array table with 4 parameters and 3 levels. The statistical analysis adopted the response surface analysis method. Results verified mutual complementary contribution between the materials when using a combination of the functional materials selected as parameters for the strengthening of the fire-resistance of 80 MPa-class high strength concrete. Besides, the optimal conditions of the fire-resistance strengthening materials derived through response surface analysis were a volumetric replacement of silica fume by 80% of metakaolin, a volumetric replacement of fine aggregates by 3% of tire waste chip, and an addition of 0.2% of the whole volume by polypropylene fiber without mixing of steel fiber. In such cases, the basic characteristics as well as the fire-resistant characteristics of high strength concrete were also satisfied.

Although structural concrete is well known for its good economic efficiency, it has limits of structural performance due to the low tensile strength, for which new structural members utilizing various concrete composite materials have been developed. Steel Fiber-Reinforced Concrete(SFRC) has great tensile strength, which is the one of the excellent composite material to complement the weakness of concrete, and it is also considered as a good alternative to prevent the explosive failure of high strength concrete under fire. Also, prestressed concrete members are of great advantages to long span structures and have greater shear strength compared to conventional reinforced concrete members. In this research, thus, a total of 22 direct shear test specimens were fabricated and tested to understand the shear behavior of Steel Fiber-Reinforced Prestressed Concrete(SFR-PSC) members, in which SFRC members combined with prestressing method. Based on the test results, the constitutive equations of shear behavior at crack interfaces were proposed, which provided good estimation on the shear behavior of the SFR-PSC direct shear test specimens.
Most of the concrete bridge structures are exposed to damage due to the excessive traffic loading and the aging of the structure. The damage of concrete causes the further deterioration of the function in the concrete structure due to corrosion of the reinforced bars and decohesion between the concrete and the reinforced bar. The quick rehabilitation of the damaged concrete structures has become of great importance in the concrete structural system in order to avoid the further deterioration of the structures. Recently fiber sheets are used for strengthening the damaged concrete structures due to its many advantages such as its durability, non-corrosive nature, low weight, ease of application, cost saving, control of crack propagation, strength to thickness ratio, high tensile strength, serviceability and aesthetic. However, the lack of analytical procedures for assessing the nominal moment capacity by the fiber sheet reinforcement leads to difficulties in the effective process of decisions of the factors in the strengthening procedure. In this work, flexural strengthening effects by fiber sheets bonded on bottom face of the member are studied for the reinforced concrete T beam. In addition, auxiliary flexural strengthening effects by U-type fiber sheets bonded on bottom and side faces of the member to prevent delamination of the bottom fiber sheet are theoretically investigated. The analytical solutions are compared with experimental results of several references to verify the proposed approach. It is shown that the good agreements between the predicted results and experimental data are obtained.
