Development of Snow Load Sensor and Analysis of Warning Criterion for Heavy Snow Disaster Prevention Alarm System in Plastic Greenhouse (비닐온실 폭설 방재 예·경보 시스템을 위한 설하중 센서 개발과 적설 경보 기준 분석)

  • As the weather changes become frequent, weather disasters are increasing, causing more damage to plastic greenhouses. Among the damage caused by various disasters, damage by snow to the greenhouse takes a relatively long time, so if an alarm system is properly prepared, the damage can be reduced. Existing greenhouse design standards and snow warning systems are based on snow depth. However, even in the same depth, the load on the greenhouse varies depending on meteorological characteristics and snow density. Therefore, this study aims to secure the structural safety of greenhouses by developing sensors that can directly measure snow loads, and analysing the warning criteria for load using a stochastic model. Markov chain was applied to estimate the failure probability of various types of greenhouses in various regions, which let users actively cope with heavy snowfall by selecting an appropriate time to respond. Although it was hard to predict the precise snow depth or amounts, it could successfully assess the risk of structures by directly detecting the snow load using the developed sensor.

Recombinant Expression of Agarases: Origin, Optimal Condition, Secretory Signal, and Genome Analysis (한천분해효소의 재조합발현 : 기원, 활성조건, 분비신호와 게놈분석 등)

  • Agarase can be used in the field of basic science, as well as for production of agar-derived high-functional oligosaccharides and bioenergy production using algae. In 2012, we summarized the classification, origin, production, and applications of agar. In this paper, we briefly review the literature on the recombinant expression of agarases from 2012 to the present. Agarase genes originated from 19 genera, including Agarivorans, Flammeovirga, Pseudoalteromonas, Gayadomonas, Catenovulum, Microbulbifer, Cellulophaga, Saccharophagus, Simiduia, and Vibrio. Of the 47 recombinant agarases, there were only two α-agarases, while the rest were β-agarases. All α-agarases produced agarotetraose, while β-agarases yielded many neoagarooligosaccharides ranging from neoagarobiose to neoagarododecaose. The optimum temperature ranged between 25 and 60℃, and the optimum pH ranged from 3.0 to 8.5. There were 14 agarases with an optimum temperature of 50℃ or higher, where agar is in sol state after melting. Artificial mutations, including manipulation of carbohydrate-binding modules (CBM), increased thermostability and simultaneously raised the optimum temperature and activity. Many hosts and secretion signals or riboswitches have been used for recombinant expression. In addition to gene recombination based on the amino acid sequence after agarase purification, recombinant expression of the putative agarase genes after genome sequencing and metagenome-derived agarases have been studied. This study is expected to be actively used in the application fields of agarase and agarase itself.

Structural Safely Analysis of a Modified 1-2W Type Greenhouse Enhanced for Culturing Paprika (착색단고추 재배용 1-2W형 개조온실 구조의 안정성 검토)

  • This study was performed to check the structural safety of modified 1-2W Greenhouses to be utilized fur growing Paprika. This type of greenhouse was derived from being remodeled by enhancing the column height of conventional 1-2W type greenhouses. According to the results of structural analysis performed by SAP-2000, there was not significant change in critical snow depth in spite of increasing the column height of 1.2 m by welding. But the critical wind velocities were shown to be $26.0\sim4l.0m/s$, which were $3\sim18%$ lower wind velocities compared with those critical velocities estimated for typical type of 1-2W greenhouse. Under the wind loads, those maximum section forces such as shear force, axial force, and bending moment, together with the deformed frame shape of strained greenhouse, were almost similar in both typical type and modified type. Maximum bending moment of column was found at eave's height of column on windward side. Under the snow loads, those maximum section forces such as shear farce, axial force, and bending moment, together with the deformed frame shape of strained greenhouse, were almost similar in both typical type and modified type. Maximum section forces except axial force was found at eave's height of column. Maximum axial force was found at inner column. Soil bearing capacity together with the total foundation resistance against wind upheaval was found to be consistently safe enough to resist to both wind load and snow load.

  • 선천이상 중에서도 순열과 구개열은 특상한 성질의 것으로서 안모의 변형, 발음장애, 신체타부와의 관계기형, 이비인후과질환을 병발하기 쉽고, 호흡기, 소화기 질환에 이환되기 쉬으며 환자는 정신적, 사회적으로도 매우 불리한 위치에 놓여 있는 신체장애자로, Fogh-Anderson은 순열과 구개열은 열성반성유전(recessive sexlinked heredity)을 한다고 보고했다. 그러나 구개열은 유전적추적이 불가능하기 때문에 그 발생원인으로 물리적원인을 우선적으로 들고있다. 발생기전은 태생 8~12조경의 제2차구개형성기에 어떤 이유로 양측의 구개돌기(palatine process)와 비중격이 분리되있는 채로 있든가, 접근해서도 유합되지 않고 있든가의 조해요인으로 태아의 모태내에 있어서의 자세, 특히 흉부에 의한 하악골압박에 의해 발생하는 소악증(micromandible), 설하수(glossoptosis)를 동반하는 Pierr Robin syndrome, 태생 8~10조경까지의 혀의 만기정유, 지, 제대의 원시구강내로의 미입등을 들수있다. 순열 및 구개열환자의 치료에 있어서 종래에는 전과정이 외과의사에게만 맡겨졌었으나, 구순, 비부의 추형등의 문제, 특징적으로 발생되는 하악의 열성장, 이별궁이 왜형, 발음장애등의 문제점해결을 위하여 필연적으로 이에 관계있는 명기다른 전문분야의 전문의가 시술에 임하게되는 multidiscipline approach로서 종합진단, 장기치료계획의 입안, 전문적 의견의 교환을 통해서 치료시기, 치료순서의 결정으로 성공적인 순열및 구개열의 치료목표를 달성하리라고 생각한다.

Performance Enhancement of Solar-Driven Steam Generator by Local Wettability Control (태양열 활용 증발기의 성능 향상을 위한 국소적 젖음성 제어에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Solar membrane steam generation is a very promising technology that can harvest purified water from seawater or wastewater during the current danger of running out of pure water. However, solar Membrane steam generation had direct contact with water, making it difficult to increase the efficient amount of evaporation. Here, we propose solar membrane steam generator composed of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and graphene oxide (GO) and improved evaporation through wettability control in part throughout the water-absorbing membrane. Wettability control has shown significant improvements in thermal localization and temperature rise in the area of heat exchange with sunlight. The evaporator has an evaporation rate of 1.54 kg m-2 h-1 under 1 sun irradiation. The results showed that Solar membrane steam evaporation can effectively harvest pure water through an increase in evaporation.

  • 하천 합류부는 서로 다른 지형학적 특성과 수리학적 특성을 가지는 두 개의 하천이 하나로 합쳐지는 구간으로 급격한 흐름의 변화 및 퇴적물의 유입과 수리학적 지형변화가 발생하는 구간이다. 합류부 구간에서는 물질의 종류 또는 온도차로 인해 밀도 차이로 유체의 흐름이 발생하게 되는데 이것을 밀도류라고 한다. 밀도차이에 의해 성층이 생긴 수체혼합거동을 파악하기 위해서는 본류 및 지류의 일정 구간을 포함하는 합류부 구간에 대한 정밀한 계측 및 관찰이 필요하다. 이러한 수체 혼합에 대한 종합적인 분석은 유속장 및 유량정보를 취득하여 파악할 수 있지만, 성층류가 흐르는 하천의 서로 상이한 물리적 특성과 수질특성을 가지는 수체의 혼합양상 및 그에 따른 물질혼합양상을 파악하는데 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 합류부 구간에서의 수온 분포를 통하여 밀도류를 파악하고자 한다. 하천의 광범위한 데이터 중 연직 자료와 수표면 자료를 취득하였고, 이를 통해 합류부의 성층현상을 확인하고자 하였다. ADCP를 보트 측면에 설치하여 저속운행으로 수리량을 측정하는 방식과 YSI를 이용해 측선설치 없이 측선 선정 후 보트를 이용하여 흐름에 직각인 방향으로 이동하며 실시간 농도를 측정하는 방식으로 얻은 연직자료 중 수온, EC 등의 직독식 센서 데이터 값을 사용하여 수온차에 따른 수체혼합 패턴을 분석하여 합류부의 혼합 양상을 분석 하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 기존 수질측정의 한계였던 1차원적인 측정결과가 나타내는 분석결과를 2차원적으로 보완이 가능하며, 비교 분석한 결과를 토대로 밀도류에 따른 혼합양상 결과가 지니는 혼합패턴을 분석한다면 향후 하천 하류구간의 취수장 취수 시스템에 많은 도움을 줄 뿐만 아니라 합류부 구간의 혼합패턴에 따라 수층 내 성층구간의 현황조사 및 혼합특성 파악을 통해 관리방안제시에 사용될 것으로 사료된다.

  • One of the most important concern in the design of barrier layer in to protect the water through the landfill. The barrier layer consists of a single compacted clay liner(CCL) or a composite liner with high density polyethylene(HDPE). The construction of barrier layer at the edge of cover system usually has some problems because of steep slope in the landfill. In this study the authors evaluate the geosynthetic clay liner(GCL) as a barrier layer at the edge of the final cover system in landfill. The GCLs were simulated the stability of slope, the HELP(Hydrologic Evaluation of Landfill Performance) and the durability of environmental situation. As the results, the GCL has more stable than the CCL. Therefore, the authors suggest that the GCL in good for the barrier layer of the final cover system in the landfill.

  • In 1923, Pierre Robin, a French stomatologist, first reported the association of micrognathia with glossoptosis. As more than 80% of all Pierre Robin cases accompanied with other syndrome such as Stickler syndrome, velocardiofacial syndrome, fetal alcohol syndrome, Treacher Collins syndrome, etc, it is called Pierre Robin sequence(PRS). PRS is described in the literature as a triad of anomalies characterized by micrognathia, glossoptosis and cleft palate. Clinically, the triad consists of airway obstruction and feeding difficulty, which are more frequent and severe in the neonatal period. In this case, a 14-month old boy with PRS was referred to the department of pediatric dentistry, Yonsei university dental hospital, who resolved airway obstruction by lateral positioning and feeding problem by percutaneous endocutaneous gastrotomy insertion. PRS is a developmental disorder as well as an anatomic obstructive disorder, therefore it should be dealt with by a multidisciplinary team.

  • Purpose: The thyroglossal duct runs from the base of the tongue to the thyroid. Rarely the thyroid completely fails to migrate and results in ectopic thyroid tissue, which can be demonstrated scintigraphically. A 31-year old female patient was referred for thyroid scintigraphy due to protruding mass at the base of the tongue. She was mildly hypothyroid. Te-99m pertechnetate thyroid scan was performed to rule out ectopic thyroid gland. There showed a focal area of intense tracer uptake in sublingual area, suggesting the sublingual thyroid. In addition there noted diffusely increased tracer uptake in both breasts. The patient delivered a baby 6 months prior to the scan and was on breast-feeding. Free Tc-99m pertechnetate physiologically secrets into the salivary glands, the stomach, the gastrointestinal tract, the genitourinary tract and the mammary glands and sodium-iodide symporter plays a role in the accumulation of free Tc-99m pertechnetate. We report simultaneous visualization of lactating breasts and ectopic thyroid gland in the base of the tongue.

The Actual State of Hospital-based Skill Training in Level 1 Emergency Medical Technician (소방 1급응급구조사의 병원임상수련 술기 실태 조사)

  • This study is the analysis of the actual state of hospital-based training in level 1 emergency medical technicians (EMTs) in fire station. The survey was carried out to 42 fire fighters having level 1 emergency medical technician certification from May 11 to 12 in 2012. The results showed 56.5 %, that the level 1 EMTs of roles had direct experienced. Level 1 EMTs performance frequency of clinical practice that endotracheal intubation 66.9 %, laryngeal mask airway 8.4 %, intravenous access 76.6 %, nitroglycerin sublingual 61.2 %, bronchodilator inhalation 50.0 %, fluid loading 73.8 %, ventilator apply 57.6 %, dextrose injection 57.6 %. It is necessary to investigate the continuous study on the education among the level 1 EMTs and the continuous evaluation and analysis of problems, supplemented of guidebook, practical education programs and regulation upon the operation and management of a hospital-based skill training.
