  • Components such as pressure vessel, hydraulic hose assembly, accumulator, hydraulic cylinder, hydraulic valve, pipe, etc., are tested under the impulse-pressure conditions prescribed in ISO and SAE standards. The impulse pressure test machine needs to have a high pressure, a precise control system and a long life. It should satisfy the requirements for fabrication of the impulse tester to generate ultra high pressure in the hydraulic system. In the impulse tester, a servo-valve control system is adopted; although the control application is convenient, it is expensive owing to the cost of developing the system. The type of the control system determines the pressure wave, which affects the components that are tested. In this study, the manufacturing process and the intensifier system design related to the flow, pressure, and the increasing rate of pressure are investigated. The results indicate the ultra high pressure waves in the system.

An Experimental Study on the Slamming impact around Wedged type structure in accordance with the Weight and Height of the change (중량 및 높이변화에 따른 쐐기형 구조물 주위의 슬래밍 충격에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Slamming means that the hull hits the waves and receives impact pressure. This slamming effect may cause harm to people and when you put the hull at risk. so it is very harmful for cargo safety. Therefor slamming impact pressure should be fully considered in ship designing. In this study the model of wedged type structure are produced aimed to simulate a free fall that the experiments were carried out on different weight and free fall height. The flow field has been obtained by 2-frame grey level cross correlation PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) method and experiment was divided into water entry and water exit. The impact pressure of free fall structure by a pressure acquisition system apply to dewetron system. The angles between a model and the water surface are adapted $15^{\circ}$ respectively. The weight change of models was given as 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0kg. To study slamming phenomenon for free fall height the experiments were carried out by the free fall height of 100, 200 and 300mm. The experimental value of the impact pressure according to the changes in weight was increase impact pressure in proportion to the increase in weight and higher free falling height has also influenced the increase in impact pressures.

  • The twin aims of the paper are to investigate the collapse strength characteristics of ship plating subject to impact pressure loads and to develop a simple structural design formula considering impact load effects. The general purpose nonlinear finite element program STARDYNE together with existing experimental results is used to investigate the collapse behavior of plating under impact pressure loads. The rigid plastic theory taking into account large deflection effects is applied to the development of the design formulation. In the theoretical method, the collapse strength formulation for plating subject to hydrostatic pressure is first derived using the rigid plastic theory. By including the strain rate erects in the formulation it can be applied to impact pressure problems. As illustrative examples, the collapse behavior of steel unstiffened plates and aluminum alloy stiffened panels subject to impact pressure loads is analyzed.

  • 피뢰기에 뇌 또는 이상전압과 같은 정격이상의 고장전류가 유입되어 발생하게 되는 순간적인 열 충격과 내부압력 상승은 폭탄이 내부에서 터지는 것과 같은 엄청난 양의 충격에너지이다. 본 연구에 있어서 폴리머 피뢰기의 제조에 사용된 모듈용 브레이드 복합재료는 압력해소 및 폭발 비산하지 않도록 하는 기능을 수행하도록 설계되어있다. 기존의 폴리머 피뢰기에 적용된 복합재료보다 충격에너지를 흡수하는 구조물에 유리한 브레이드 복합재료를 피뢰기 모듈의 제조에 도입한 것은 매우 의미 있는 일이라 판단된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 열경화성 브레이드 복합재료를 제조하기 위하여 프리폼을 먼저 제작한 다음 금형에 삽입한 후 진공상태에서 수지를 주입하여 경화시키는 RTM공법을 이용하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 브레이드 패턴 및 방압개소 설계 등의 기초적인 자료조사 및 실험을 통하여 폴리머 피뢰기의 폭발 비산을 방지할 수 있는 압력해소 성능을 위한 기초 자료를 확보하고자 하는 것이다. 브레이드 복합재료의 기본적인 경화거동을 등온 및 동적 DSC를 이용하여 고찰하였고, 기본적인 전기적 특성을 평가하였으며, 방압개소를 가진 폴리머 피뢰기 모듈의 고장전류시험시 예상되는 열 충격에 대한 성능을 검증하기 위하여 열팽창계수를 측정하였다.

Prediction of Bow Flare Impact Pressure and Its Application to Ship Structure Design - Tanker and Bulk Carrier - (선수 플레어 충격압력 추정과 구조설계에의 응용 - 탱커와 산적화물선 -)

  • In rough seas, bow-flare regions of the full ships (tanker and bulk carrier) are subiect to high impact pressures due to the on-coming breaking waves. And many ships suffer structural damages in that region, even though they were built under the bow structure strengthening rules of the ship classes. So, a new design method for bow-flare structure is highly required. In this paper, a new prediction method of the bow-flare impact pressure (in terms of equivalent static pressure) acting on the full ships' bow is presented. This method is based on the 6 full ships' damage analysis and the breaking wave impact mechanism. Calculation results of the bow-flare impact pressure and the shell plate thickness are shown and discussed. Through the example calculations, it was found that the present method is useful for the structure design of the full ships' bow.

Damage Evaluation of Adjacent Structures for Detonation of Hydrogen Storage Facilities (수소저장시설의 폭발에 대한 인접 구조물의 손상도 평가)

  • This study presents an analytical study of investigating the effect of shock waves generated by the hydrogen detonation and damage to structures for the safety evaluation of hydrogen storage facilities against detonation. Blast scenarios were established considering the volume of the hydrogen storage facility of 10 L to 50,000 L, states of charge (SOC) of 50% and 100%, and initial pressures of 50 MPa and 100 MPa. The equivalent TNT weight for hydrgen detonation was determined considering the mechanical and chemical energies of hydrogen. A hydrogen detonation model for the converted equivalent TNT weight was made using design equations that improved the Kingery-Bulmash design chart of UFC 3-340-02. The hydrogen detonation model was validated for overpressure and impulse in comparison to the past experimental results associated with the detonation of hydrogen tank. A parametric study based on the blast scenarios was performed using the validated hydrogen detonation model, and design charts for overpressure and impulse according to the standoff distance from the center of charge was provided. Further, design charts of the three-stage structural damage and standoff distance of adjacent structures according to the level of overpressure and impact were proposed using the overpressure and impulse charts and pressure-impulse diagrams.

A Study on the Penetration Characteristics of the Rigid Impactor into the Lead Target (강체 충격자가 납 표적에 충돌할 때의 침투특성 연구)

  • 강체 충격자가 납 표적에 33m/s ∼ 141m/s의 속도로 충돌할 때의 침투특성을 연구하기 위하여 Jognson 이론식을 이용한 이론해석과 AUTODYN 코드를 이용한 수치해석 및 실험장치를 이용한 실험측정을 실시하고 그 결과들을 비교 분석하였다. 실험장치로는 가스압력식 발사장치를 설계 제작하였으며, 실험용 충격자로는 충돌부위 형상이 반구형인 반구형 충격자와 원추형인 원추형 충격자 2종류를 사용하였다. 또한, 납재료에 대한 동적 유동응력을 얻기 위하여 홉킨스 압력봉실험을 수행하였다. 침투특성에 관한 연구결과, 이론적 해석결과는 저속 충돌범위(반구형 충격자 : 53m/s, 원추형 충격자 ; 73m/s)에서 실험결과치와 93%이상 잘 일치하였으며, 수치해석결과는 전체적인 충돌속도 범위에서 반구형 충격자인 경우 73%이상, 원추형 충격자인 경우 86%이상 일치하였다.

  • The effect of pressure perturbation in the ramjet engine on the characteristics of the inlet is studied via numerical simulation. The frequency and amplitude of the pressure perturbation are assumed to be 500Hz and 20% of the exit back pressure, respectively. The simulation shows the characteristics of the normal shock in the inlet according to the pressure perturbations. The relation between the captured mass flow rate and downstream pressure perturbation is studied. The mass flow rate decreases when the downstream pressure perturbation starts.

소단면 터널에서 에멀젼폭약의 사압현상과 대책

  • 국책사업이나 SOC의 확충을 위한 도로 및 철도의 건설에서 적용되는 터널의 단면크기를 보면, $50m^2$에서부터 $100m^2$이상의 중 대단면 터널이 주를 이루고 있으나, 전력구, 통신구, 소규모로 운영되는 광산의 채광용 터널, 용수를 위한 도수로터널 등 특수한 용도로 설계, 시공되고 있는 터널에서는 $20m^2$이하의 단면크기를 갖는 경우가 있다. 이러한 소단면 터널의 경우에는 협소한 작업공간으로 인하여 적용공법 뿐만 아니라 장비의 사용 또한 제약을 받게 되어 작업효율이 저하되고 공사기간이 늘어나게 되는 등 여러 가지 문제점을 안고 있다. 특히, 에멀젼 폭약을 사용하는 발파에서 먼저 기폭된 발파공의 충격압력에 의해 인접공의 폭약이 예비압축(Precompression)되어 사압현상을 일으키고 잔류약을 발생시키는 사례가 종종 발생하고 있다. 사압현상은 당해 발파의 실패와 함께 2차적인 사고의 위험요인이 될 수 있으므로 이를 방지하기 위한 대책을 수립하여야 한다. 이를 위해 기존 문헌을 통하여 사압현상의 원인과 발생 가능성을 검토하였고, 국내에서 주로 사용되는 에멀전폭약의 수중 내충격성시험과 충격압력 전달시험을 실시하여 사압현상의 발생정도를 측정하였으며, 사압현상이 발생한 소단면 터널현장을 대상으로 대책을 수립하여 적용하였다. 심발방법을 변경하여 전단의 충격압력을 견딜 수 있는 공간격을 확보하고 뇌관의 초시간격을 적절하게 배치한 발파패턴을 적용한결과, 사압현상을 억제하고 잔류약의 발생을 감소시켜 계획 굴진장을 확보하고 파쇄석의 크기를 감소시키는 등 양호한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • The bow flare structure of a ship is designed considering wave impact loads largely caused by relative motion of the ship and wave at rough sea. Empirical design is still used because impact phenomenon and structural behaviour due to wave impact load can not examined accurately. The objective of this study is, as the first step, to predict wave impact loads giving the structural damages to the bow flare structure from the damage data inversely, using dynamic nonlinear finite element code LS/DYNA3D, and to perform various parametric studies of wave impact pressure curve for its characteristics, such as peak height, duration time, tail height, rise time, etc.. The followings were obtained from this study: Dynamic structural responses against wave impact loads are largely affected by impact pressure impulse whose amount during duration time until peak deformation is very important.
