Development of DDL(Digital Delay Line) Module Using Interleave Method Based on Pulse Recognition and Delay Gap Detection (펄스 인식 및 지연 간격 검출을 통한 인터리브 방식의 디지털 시간 지연 모듈 개발)

  • Radar performance test is one of the major steps for radar system design. However, it is restricted by time and cost when radar performance tests are performed with opportunity targets. So various simulated target generators are developed and used to evaluate radar performance. To simulate the target's range, most of simulated target generators are developed with optical line or DRFM(Digital RF Memory) technique but there are many restrictions such as limit of range imitation and test scenario because of their original usage. In this paper, DDL(Digital Delay Line) module for development of simulated target generator is designed with precise range simulation and easily embodiment feature. And pulse recognition and delay gap detection technique are used to simulate the time delay without distortions. Developed DDL module performances are verified through their performance tests and test results are described in this paper.

Feasibility Study on Reactive Material in Permeable Reactive Barriers Against Contaminated Groundwater with Ammonium from Unsanitary Landfill (암모늄으로 오염된 비위생 매립지 주변지반의 지하수 정화를 위한 반응벽체내 물질 연구)

  • Batch and column tests were performed to develop the design factors for permeable reactive barriers(PRBs) against the contaminated groundwater with ammonium from unsanitary landfill. Clinoptilolite, one of natural zeolites having excellent cation exchange capacity(CEC), was chosen as the reactive material. In batch test, the reactivity of clinoptilolite to ammonium was examined by varying the initial concentration of ammonium and the particle size of clinoptilolites. One gram of clinoptilolite showed removal efficiency about 80% against the ammonium except in very high initial concentration of 80 ppm, but the effect of particle size of clinoptilolite was not noticeable. Permeability test was performed for the specimens made of clinoptilolite and Jumunjin sand with 20 : 80 weight ratio. Flexible wall permeameter was employed far permeability test. The specimen containing the washed 0.42-0.85mm clinoptilolite showed the highest permeability of about $10^{-3}$/s. In column test, the reactivity of mixed materials against ammonium in flowing condition was examined with the landfill leachate. With the test results, clinoptilolite was found to be a suitable material for PRBs against the contaminated groundwater with ammonium.

  • The development process of a gas generator for a 30-tonf pump-fed space liquid rocket engine is described. Starting from the development of an injector, followed by subscale and full-scale test specimens, the development of LOx/kerosene fuel-rich gas generator has been concluded successfully. Various analytical methods have been utilized in the course of design and the performance requirements have been verified experimentally through ignition tests, combustion performance and stability assessment tests and duration tests. The gas generator has proven its workability and stability within a defined operation window of varying chamber pressure and mixture ratio and demonstrated compliance to the performance and life time requirements.

  • This study evaluates the laboratory properties of asphalt binder and mixture modified with R-EPDM(Recycling Ethylene Propylene Dien Monometer), which consists of R-EPDM as a main ingredient that is an industrial by-product made by manufacturing waste EPDM below 50 mesh as an additive. Superpave system was used to determine the PG(Performane Grade) and evaluate the property of R-EPDM modified binder. OACs(Optimum Asphalt Contents) of R-EPDM modified asphalt mixtures were determined by Superpave mix design using gyratory compactor and wheel tracking test and moisture susceptibility test were carried out with R-EPDM modified asphalt mixtures at OACs. The results from these tests, rutting-resistance and freezing and thawing resistance by moisture susceptibility of R-EPDM modified asphalt mixtures were superior to one of general asphalt mixtures(AP-5).

Development of Infrared Target for Dual-Sensor Imaging Seeker's Test and Evaluation in HILS System (이종센서 영상탐색기 시험평가를 위한 적외선 표적원 개발)

  • In this work, infrared targets for a developed hardware-in-the-loop simulation(HILS) system are proposed for a performance test of a dual-sensor imaging seeker equipped with an infrared and a visible sensor that can lock and track for ground and air targets. This integrated system is composed of 100 modules of heat and light sources to simulate various kinds of target and the trajectory of moving targets based on scenarios. It is possible to simulate not only the position, velocity, and direction for these targets but also background clutter and jamming environments. The design and measurement results of an infrared target, such as the HILS system configuration, developed for testing and evaluation of a dual-sensor imaging seeker are described. In the future, it is planned to test the lock-on and tracking performance of an imaging seeker equipped with single or dual sensors dynamically in real time based on a simulation flight scenario in the developed HILS system.

Evaluation of Fatigue Endurance on Expansion Joint Manufactured Fe-Mn Damping Alloy (Fe-Mn 제진 금속을 적용한 신축이음장치의 피로 내구성 평가)

  • The endurance of expansion joint manufactured the Fe-Mn damping alloy reducing noise and vibration is analyzed into FEM (Finite Element Method) and fatigue test. The fatigue test have been performed using the expansion joint manufactured Fe-Mn damping alloy and the hydraulic actuator (25tonf). And the results of fatigue test show that the maximum strength is 237.6 MPa. Also that is 56.6 percent of Fe-Mn damping alloy yield strength (420 MPa). The loading plate size is prepared $57.7cm{\times}23.1cm$ and the loading plate's set position is located on expansion joint. The expansion joint manufactured the Fe-Mn damping alloy had not presented breaking behavior against 2,000,000 times fatigue test and identified the fatigue endurance.

Insulation Performance Evaluation through Insulation Test and Transient Heat Transfer Analysis of Cryogenic Common Bulkhead Propellant Tanks (극저온 공통격벽 추진제 탱크의 단열 시험과 과도 열전달 해석을 통한 단열 성능 평가)

  • The validity of the analysis results was confirmed based on the insulation test results, and the vaporization mass generated in the common bulkhead was calculated to evaluate the common bulkhead propellant tank's insulation performance. The analysis results were validated by comparing the transient heat transfer analysis with the insulation test results. A transient heat transfer analysis was subsequently conducted on the common bulkhead propellant tank, considering the internal heat conduction in the propellant tank and natural convection heat transfer due to the outside air. This analysis extracted the heat flux generated in the common bulkhead and quantified the vaporization mass, a key indicator of insulation performance. Consequently, the vaporization mass was calculated at 0.09 kg, below the insulation design standard of 0.12 kg for the common bulkhead propellant tank, confirming it meets the insulation performance standard.

  • 통합생산시스템에서의 고장, 정비 및 가용 도는 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 시스템 설계시의 RAM 파라메터의 결정은 시스템의 성능과 소요비용 및 구성(System Configuration)등에 크게 영향을 미친다. 이러한 시스템관련 요소의 숫자가 많거나 불확실할 경우는 시스템의 성능예측이 매우 복잡하게 된다. 이러한 시스템의 성능(performance) 평가를 위하여 발견적 방법인 GMDH(Group Method Data Handlinng) Type Modeling 방법을 이용하여 FMS의 성능 평가를 시도하였다. RAM 및 기계작업시간의 Data로부터 시스템성능의 척도로서 단위 사이클 기간동안의 생산률, 시스템내의 총 흐름시간, 각 작업장이 기계의 RAM 및 LCC등을 고려하였다. GMDH 알고리즘의 계산을 위한 프로그램을 개발하고, 이를 L형 Bracket제조시스템의 성능 예측에 시험 적용하였다. 본 Modeling에 의한 시스템의 성능예측 방법은 입출력 자료의 처리과정을 개선할 경우 FMS계획및 운영 단계에서 성능평가에 매우 유용하게 활용될수 있을 것으로 본다.

국산 맥동관형 크라이오 펌프 시제품 종합특성평가 및 성능개선안

  • 저소음, 저진동이 장점인 맥동관형 냉동기 및 이를 이용한 크라이오 펌프를 국산화하는 연구개발사업이 상당히 진전되어 첫 번째 시제품을 완성했다. 3개월 여에 걸쳐 냉동기 냉동능력, 진동 및 펌프 냉각시간을 포함해서 질소, 수소 또는 알고에 대한 펌프 배기속도, 배기용량, 최대유량, 교차값, 알곤회복시간 등 규격, 비규격을 통틀어 모든 평가항목을 망라하는 펌프 배기 성능시험을 완료했다. 성능평가결과에 나타난 시제품의 장단점을 분석하여 보완 및 개선점을 찾고 이를 완제품 제작에 반영하려고 한다. 내경 14인치인 크라이오 펌프 시제품의 질소 배기속도는 목표치를 30% 정도 상화하여 4,600 L/s가 나왔고 배기용량은 약 45만 $mbar{\cdot}L$에 달했으며 교차값은 2,200 $mbar{\cdot}L$로 측정되었다. $5{\times}10^{-8}$ mbar 기준 알곤 회복시간은 2분 정도로 5분 이내라는 기준을 만족했다. 한편 20 K까지 펌프 냉각시간이 135분이므로 15분 이상 단축이 필요한데 이는 열차폐 특히 배플의 열적설계를 개선함으로써해결하려고 한다. 그리고 수소에 대한 배기성능 개선을 위해 활성탄 어레이의 제작공정을 표준화할 필요가 있다.

Development of Model for Structural Evaluation of Anti-Freezing Layer (동상방지층의 구조적 평가를 위한 모형 개발)

  • The thickness of anti-freezing layer has been empirically determined using the frost depth obtained from the freezing index and has not been generally considered as a structural layer in pavement design procedure. In fact, the anti-freezing layer makes a role in structural layer and enables to reduce the total thickness of pavement system. The objective of this study is to develop the statistical regression model for evaluating the structural capacity of anti-freezing layer using Falling Weight Deflectormeter(FWD) test data in asphalt pavements. The FWD testing was conducted at the embankment, cutting, and boundary area of various test sections to estimate the structural capacity of anti-freezing layer in different foundation condition. It is observed from this testing that the center deflections of pavement structure with anti-freezing layer are smaller than those without anti-freezing layer ranging from 0.4 to 82.6%. To determine the variables of statistical model, the correlation study has been conducted between various FWD deflection indexes and the anti-freezing layer thickness. It is found that the ${\Delta}BDI$(%)(${\Delta}Basin$ Damage Index(%)) is highly correlated with anti-freezing layer thickness. The ${\Delta}BDI$(%) model were developed for evaluating structural capacity of anti-freezing layer using linear mixed-effect models.
